Referring to the water flow valve, we recommend opening it all the way on first priming to help push all the air bubbles out and then setting it to a flow that best filters your aquarium feature without disrupting any animals or other part of the habitat. Hope that helps.
Zoo Med products are available wherever pet products are sold. Contact your local pet retailer and see if they carry or are able to special order the item you are looking for.
How deep should rhis be submerged? i put mine all the way to the bottom of the tank, just aboce the sand substrate snd next to the filter. Is thag too far down, or should i adjust it so the wire isnt really shbmerged?
The main unit should be completely submerged, and the cord is waterproof and can also be submerged to your needs. We do recommend having enough cord to create a drip loop (see instructions: zoomed.com/wp-content/uploads/TH-50_Turtletherm_Instrct.pdf ) Hope that helps.
What temp should the mini 4w ones get to? I have two of them running. One of them is always substantially warmer than the other one. Using a laser thermometer, one of them reaches 107f at its hottest spot, and the other one 128f. Is there something wrong with one of them?
I'm a little confused about it going to sleep at night. I set it up yesterday 7 pm. It still hasn't gone off. Shouldn't have gone off around 7 am my time?
It can be a bit confusing. Essentially, the TurtleMatic is 'On' for 12 hours and 'Off' the following 12 hours before repeating its cycle. That 'On' period starts the moment the power button is pressed, so you'll want to start it at 7am instead of 7pm. From there, it'll follow your programed Frequency and Amount settings for the next 12 hours before turning off for 12 hours during the night (EX: If you have set the Frequency to '3', it'll dispense food 3 times over the next 12 hours). That way it's not going off at night and disrupting your pet's sleep cycle. Hopefully that resolves your issue. I wouldn't recommend it. While potentially possible, many of the functions of the Environmental Control Center rely on the Humidity and Temperature probes. Since these can only be placed in 1 habitat at a time, that means essentially the climate of one habitat decides the electronics for both which, for the safety of your animal, may not always be beneficial or correct. Better to have it set up for a single terrarium. Hope that helps.
Zoomed.... Great bulb! But extremely disappointed in the lack of different sizing options. We need led/uvb bulbs suitable for 18x18x24 tank.... You know... Your most popular selling size? These are not one size fits all
Thank you for your suggestion. UVB LEDs are still a new invention and we're always looking to improve and provide options for keepers. Hopefully we'll return to this new technology in the future.
Imagine if a human was in that crickets spot. Imagine what you'd feel like to suddenly get abducted one day and then get turned into a "So Fresh it's still alive" type of edible vending machine item.
I used the pump from an old solar fountain. It's by far not as strong as yours, but it works just fine as additional filter for my small goldfish pond.
