I'm really a ZOO MED fan , and I have a growing collection of the Siamese fighters and of my seven the only thing that I have in all of my tanks is the ZOO MED floating logs . I've got a few that XXL and 1 that sits on the substrate which all 12 in total have one more thing in common and I have been doing it for over 4 years now and it's growing moss on the top which I simply go around the feeding hole w safe Gorilla glue gel type, then a piece of old POLY FILTER pad that I have precut to the size / shape finally a little more glue and the moss. It's not a good idea to use big pieces that might look better to start but it won't attach the best compared to taking a scissor to it 1st and start with the tiny little ones that you treat the same as the DSM
Referring to the water flow valve, we recommend opening it all the way on first priming to help push all the air bubbles out and then setting it to a flow that best filters your aquarium feature without disrupting any animals or other part of the habitat. Hope that helps.
My husband just set this up 2 days ago and it is extremely noisy and does not appear to be filtering the water. Does the entire unit, including the spray bar, have to be fully submerged? He has the very top of the unit with the purge valve and spray bar out of the water.

I’m having an issue with the spray bar disconnecting from the joint at least twice or three times a day. It’s becoming an annoyance for me to keep connecting it again. Is there any way to keep still?
I can't guarantee, but as long as they are well fed they typically leave it alone. If you're still concerned, I would suggest maybe try hiding the cord behind decor or a underwater plant. Hope that helps.
took everything apart, cleaned every piece, put it all together, still no water flow. motor makes noise and sounds like it's grinding but nothing happens. If I try to turn fan blade while the machine is off it does feel like it's getting stuck on something but I can't find anything in the parts I have access to. I've owned and used this thing maybe two weeks. It worked for a few days. What gives?
I'm sorry to hear that 🙁. You'll be happy to know that all of our filters include a 1-year warranty. Please reach out to our Customer Service and they should be able to help in some way. They can be reached at: 1-888-496-6633
@@Sentrygt When you say "white bubbles", are they clear or murky white? Clear is normal and if it's continuous the filter may just have an air pocket trapped in the filter. Try unplugging the Filter and rotating it underwater to loosen any trapped air so it can completely fill it with water before plugging back in. If the bubbles are murky, there may be some debris that it is still processing through or it may be in need of cleaning depending on how long you've been using the filter. Reach out to our Customer Service and they should be able to help in more detail. They can be reached at: 1-888-496-6633 Hope that helps. Take care.
we’ve had this filter for about 4 months or less now and it hasn’t been filtering the water, no matter how much we change the water or clean the filter itself there seems to be no end and no clean water 🤕
