The Japanese Beetle is metallic green with copper colored wings and has tufts of small white hairs along the sides of its body. The Green June Beetle, or June bug, is iridescent green. The European Chafer is a shiny brown color, and is bit more round shaped than the others. I have boat-loads of the The European Chafer, I wonder if these traps work the same for them?
Aka means also known as. They are 2 different bugs. Not the same . June bugs are native to the U.S. Japanese beetles were accidentally introduced to the U.S. in 1916
Hey brother! Just got 9 pallets of tif 419 installed at my back yard, when would be a good time for fertilizer and what should i use? Your lawn looks nice and video is very informative 👌
Yes the grooved roller will keep the mower planted and front end from squirming on you. My yard is not nearly a smooth as yours but my Trimmer tracks straight as an arrow, good video.
1. How much chicken compost (.lbs) do you use for 1000 sq feet? 2. Can you you use it at the same time when overseeding a lawn? Or will it burn the seedlings? Perhaps lower application rate?
would have helped if you had included before and after videos... because the lawn you show on your video is already looking lime green and healthy and ironite will NOT get the deep green you are advertising. Like all granular fertilizers it will take 3-4 weeks to break down and afterwards be absorbed by the grass roots.... and not 48 hours as you state. Also you have to water after application by either sprinklers, hose or expected rain. For immediate dark green that lasts, requires the use of a liquid iron product applied by a sprayer. That's the only way to get that dark rich green lawn. Professional Lawn management companies apply liquid fertilizer from the tanks on their trucks. Not talking about the local yahooes who drive around in pick up trucks and use push mowers. If you already have a healthy lawn - what yo call lime green, then ironite will do nothing more than be a waste of money.
Thanks for this video. I just bought it and wanted to know how to use it because, i used to use the old school gas edgers which you would lower the blade down into the place you want to edge. When done you either use the blade lever to raise the blade up. But this looks like there is no way to lower it down or raise thr blade up. So i was confused and wanted to see how this thing is used. Looks like you start it up as you hold it up in the air and then you must lower the entire tool into grass. Interesting. But looks like it works!
First things June bugs are not the same as Japanese beetles June bugs have absolutely no white on them, and they can grow as big as the palm of my hand. How do I know that? Because I found one in my house one time out in the country and it was almost the size of the palm of my hand. My husband had to get a coffee can to get it removed!
To trim your knockout roses, trim any stems growing towards the center of the plant, and trim any stems off that are smaller than a pencil width, and trim 1/2 of anything off that has two stems side-by-side that make a V off of a main stem. You want to thin it out especially in the center, and prune it down in late fall to about a foot to 18” tall. Feed with fish fertilizer in the spring, or apply a systemic fertilizer and insecticide liquid mix watered in. Or you could spray with liquid Sevin on the roses leaves over and under. From what I understand diatomaceous earth will also kill bugs and maybe grubs, if you apply it generously to your lawn or leaves of plants. But the rain can wash it off! I’ve heard of people using baking soda to do the same thing that diatomaceous earth does, though. It’s about what that powdery substance does, when it gets on the joints and membranes of the bugs that causes eventual death, after they come in contact with it.
Looks great! I'm about to do mine as well. I noticed you doubled up the concrete landings for your gutter downspouts. Did you leave it like that, or did you do something different? I don't want to flood my beds. I may have to extend them to the grass line.
If you water in your pet’s urine pretty quickly after they go, it dilutes it enough to not burn out and may even green it up a little stronger in that spot. As long as they don’t keep going in the same spot, that generally works pretty well.
Murphy, I'm about to have my lawncare company apply PGR to my bermuda. I currently keep my height at around 1/2 inch to 1 inch. What difference or improvement have you noticed since applying PGR to your lawn? What will I notice once PGR has been applied after the coming weeks post application???
