(On your 1st app, cut the recommended dosage in 1/2 to avoid yellowing) I’m applying PGR and Lesco 12-0-0 chelated iron with my 4 gallon Ryobi backpack sprayer today! This is a quick video just touching base on these 2 great products.
I like what you're doing with this channel! Very relevant to what I do to my lawn ;) but one piece of advise when mixing products don't do it over your grass or even mulch area, better do it in the garage in case you spill the concentrate!
Thanks neighbor!! I really started these videos for my seven hills neighbors, so I really appreciate you watching and glad you are getting something out of it!
@@ryandelk04 Yes! Are we still good to aerate? Thought it would be good, especially with all the wet weather we've been having. I haven't done in at least 2 seasons.
Yeah, you can always aerate. I normally do it at the beginning of the season but doing it now it still fantastic! And while the grass is growing it’ll cover back up quickly.
Murphy, I'm about to have my lawncare company apply PGR to my bermuda. I currently keep my height at around 1/2 inch to 1 inch. What difference or improvement have you noticed since applying PGR to your lawn? What will I notice once PGR has been applied after the coming weeks post application???
Perfect timing that I found your video, I have both products I’ll be putting on my tif 419 for the first time, so thanks for posting 👍 I’ve read some have staining concerns with walkways and driveways, etc. from the 12-0-0. What’s been you experience? PS I gave up my reel mower and using an automower and loving it...never got the results like you do with my reel mower for some reason.
I always try to avoid concrete with any iron products but I haven’t notice any long term staining. What kind of auto mower are you using. I wish they would cut straight lines!
@@ryandelk04 I have a husqvarna, automower is what they call their robot mowers. Definitely no straight lines, but stays manicured all the rime if you run it daily or every other day depending on you lawn, etc..
I finally applied both on Saturday. I got a little striping effect even after applying cross hatch pattern with sprayer. I'd post a picture, but don't see how to do that? Not a big deal, but do you ever see that after you apply? I'm talking about where the lines show up after application from walking back and forth and spraying. Did my best to cover evenly. not sure if its the PGR or the iron? It's not horrible, but you can see some lines.
Update: I did not water since application on Saturday and got a good rain yesterday which took care of. looking great, not quite as dark green as I would like, but maybe it takes a little time to full iron result? Probably will add some liq fert this weekend, it's time for that anyway.
Do you have a link to the sprayer you have? I currently have a 2 gallon hand sprayer and use it on about 6k lawn and it's doable in the 105 deg heat of central Texas but I can only imagine how much nicer it'd be to not have to stop and pump every 10 minutes! lol. Also, does the PGR help the "quality" of the turf? I know you said it prevents vertical growth, but does it therefore accelerate or promote lateral growth? My bermuda is looking really good being cut at 1 1/2 in but I want it shorter, greener and tighter. I had been using the battery powered sunjoe "reel" mower and believe it or not that little thing is awesome lol. But just finally bought a California Trimmer...Just trying to find out how to get that low/tight turf that you have. Your yard looks amazing by the way. Just came across your channel so I'm binging on your videos so I apologize if you've answered these questions in another video. Cheers!
The backpack sprayer Ryobi I just got from Home Depot! I have a decent comparison video using it on my page too! They say that continuing PGR use over the season will make it very thick! And cut mowing down from every other day to once time required per week but cutting more just for fun is ok!! I’ve really enjoyed my CT over the years too! I love the ease of use and service! Thanks for watching!! And thanks for the comments!
How much did the Lesco iron run cost wise? I have a local site one here that I could purchase it from. I just split some PGR with a local which is great since I didn't need a lifetime supply. Great videos keep it up!
ryandelk04 perfect that is up my alley! I was planning on .15. I had heard half rate? If needed I’ll go even less. First time using liquid iron. I’ve only used granular (ironite). I imagine the liquid does a better job? Also do you mix iron in on your biostim apps? Thanks!
The liquid iron is definitely faster acting. I’m not sure about the Lesco iron mixing but I’m pretty sure it will. I mix different liquid iron all the time with them. I always do the cup test or mason jar test before mixing in the sprayer. Just take a small amount in a cup or jar of what you want to try, mix it up and let it sit for a few minutes to see how it reacts.
T nex applied on Tall fescue requires 3x more product about 1 oz per 10K. My yard wouold uses 8 oz per application. or only 16 applications per gallon. $10/application not cheap.
9:34 so you wasted $150 on a product that is supposed to let you cut less but you are still gonna cut it every other day? where's the logic in that. obviously doesnt' work very well if you need to still cut at the same rate.
