G'day! We're Beef & Jana! Thanks for dropping by... C'mon in, the weathers fine!

2 years ago we miraculously survived a head-on car crash in the remote Western Australia desert. We got a second chance at life & a massive wake up call; we decided life's too short to save our dreams for retirement so we've gone done did it! We've learned the sailing basics, flew to Florida and bought ourselves a beautiful 43 Morgan named Don Quijote.

Our adventure begins in Australia and continues in Florida, the Bahamas & beyond where we learn first hand how to go about buying a boat in the USA and making her into our nautical home. We can hear the whisper of perfect waves & coral reefs teeming with marine life beckoning us... & we are on our way! We're all about simple & sustainable, surfing, sailing & freediving.

Join us from the beginning and peek inside our journey; a Canadian & Aussie buy a sailboat & sail off into the sunset... or something like that!

Brahh im from Puerto Rico and have donde so much research just to find out that the closest I’ve seen on the maps is sandy point, Santa Cruz right next to PR jaja great not showing the location but yet again it’s gotta be just perfect and gotta put in some time and work to score it! Not everyone able to be there but would love te get the opportunity

That’s not Sandy Point, but I lived there for 4 years and scored it twice after passing hurricanes. Fun fact: it’s featured in the final scene of the Shawshank Redemption, and so is Grassy Point when Andy is driving along the coast. I’m cruising the comments looking for hints of this wave. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🌴🌊🏄🏼🌋

Well done on some great videos we are hoping to get a boat in the next couple of years and get out of the rat race and go exploring. We also have almost zero sailing experience other than some hobie sailing on the Goldie and it was great to see you guys do it and learn as you go. Get back out there and make some more video’s please. WE WANT MORE! WE WANT MORE! WE WANT MORE! Lol 😂 Hope the lil grom is doing well 🍻🍻

it was a nightmare - we got a mechanic who had a big breaker bar - he locked the transmission at the prop shaft somehow with timber blocks from memory? with a big extension bar and the perfect size socket he got it a lot easier than I ever could have, it was beyond my abilities - as for the leaky seal mine does too maybe they all do? good luck mate!

Nice tour. Ours is similar. 91 Morgan 44 CC. I wish the previous owners had as much love for the boat as yours did. Ours suffered from a little bit of neglect. We need to replace our water tanks but access looks pretty difficult. Any experience with that?
@nautinooksailingadventures3533
@nautinooksailingadventures3533 3 года назад
Hi Scott! very cool hope we share an anchorage someday... it’s very true that you’re buying the boat off the previous owner as much as you’re buying the actual boat... we were very lucky fortunately we haven’t had issues with our water tanks as yet - touch wood - but similarity to you, it looks like it would be a massive job... good luck with it all

the winter swells are what you’re after as I think it’s pretty flat most of the time otherwise - we were there in january / feb & got some decent 10-15 ft swells roll through... it is expensive - we stayed on the boat so I can’t comment on accomodation but food prices are also pretty expensive. the best bet if flying to tortola is $$ is flying to st thomas & getting the ferry across ..

I know this episode is a year old, but you wanted comments. Chill Chill Chill. I think life in a little marina in DR with BOAB as neighbors would beat the stress of living on the sunny coast in 2021any time. I had a business there and can remember the days when a drive down nicklin way from M<dore to Caloundra was a 10min trip. Get back on your boat and find a place that the SC used to be like before it was invaded by mexicans.
