I love this car! But I'm not digging the reposting of old footage like it's new.. this was from 2018, wasn't it? Where's the new stuff? inquiring minds want to know..... @BigRedCamaro
I’m currently building a 69 with a 540bbc and hopefully a harrop sc. Planning on a 1/2 mile run in Dec for 175+mph and then looking for a mile plus track for 200mph. We won’t be big red fast, but I just want a 200mph shirt. Too bad the Mohave magnum mile isn’t still going as it’s kind of close and I’m sure I could crack 200mph in 1.5 miles.
I can swear I read it went 220MPH with a journalist in the passenger seat right around it when it got a lot of press. I could be wrong, ask anyone who knows me 🤟🏻🏁
@@dansherwood9851 I make a lot of mistakes. But that every once in a while I’m right feels pretty damn good even though it’s usually about nothing important.
It's amazing how long Big Red has been at or near the top of heap. I think it's been about 25 years since this car and drive won the Silver State Classic.
Good morning RJ, I have been a follower of you an Big Red for years, but it is the baddest 69 Camaro in my lifetime 😉. Keep me posted on the 2024 season and what you are doing now, thanks again RJ 🎉🎉🎉😊
We love Big Red, but this video is a disappointment. Looks like edited by a film school grad who doesn't really care about driving. Each take is just a few seconds, with no one shot connecting two or three curves.
It's difficult to tell but have you guys done anything to the underbody like aero panels and maybe a mild diffuser? Also maybe test some vortex generators for the back of the roof ?1?
@@speedy7892 Cheers for the info. I have been watching the recently uploaded videos but those three engines were making considerably less than 2000hp - hence my confusion.
@@dtengineering1 these look like old recordings that the crew had that they've been uploading to the channel. I say this cause the event they are talking about (Mojave Mile) has ceased operations since 2018
I had the pleasure of seeing the car at Norwalk, OH recently. Been following along since first seeing a video on VHS of you winning the Silver State Classic. Love the car, rock on RJ.
Sure wish they’d bring back the magnum Mohave mile. I was ready to go break 200mph with my 1000hp ZL1 and it’s been shut down. Working on a 1000hp 69 Camaro but not sure only a mile would get it done.
@@OneEye. I’ve contacted them and they actually were doing a 1.25 mile that I believe would be long enough for me to crack the 200 mph mark, they also have some requirements I was not willing to do for that 200mph shirt. IE-roll bar in the street car. With the current 69 Camaro build which will have a roll bar and other restraints they require it may become an option for next spring.
I have been following this car, since I read about it in Hot Rod magazine, in the 1980's. It was a story about an all out highway run, which this car destroyed all the rest of the competition. To see they have kept up with the tradition of Big Red, makes me smile.
