Hi & welcome to GREEN Auto Services with me, Adam Green. I have created this channel bringing you tutorials, tips & information on a WIDE VARIETY of vehicle maintenance & repair. All these videos will explore exactly what comes my way in regards to MOT advisories & failures, general maintenance & repairs and tips on how to save you money by getting the job done YOURSELF!

So either join me in the workshop looking as the typical repairs we undertake OR also join me "On The Road" in my mobile tyre fitting van saving the public from flat tyres! OR, why not do both!

If this sounds like your cup of tea (or coffee if you're a mechanic), then you're invited to my channel to broaden your knowledge the the way to do that is to HIT THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON!

Many thanks and I'll see you in your first video!

Wow I have exactly the same 2015 focus and have just got this msg, now I know just what a ball ache it's gonna be to fix it, didn't realise that it is so complicated, I'd rather go back to a tyre pressure gauge and do it myself, ie, pump it up if it needs it, job done. Thanks for doing this video, cheers 😀

Hey, guys any idea why I am experiencing inside tire wear on both rear tires? Would worn bushings cause it or something else?

How on earth do you take the handle off? Got the same issue on my caddy but I've no idea how the release handle removes.

They knock out with a long tubular socket (it's actually the input sleeve socket for transit gearboxes) and I'm only 5:6 and 11 stone... clowns with drills,saws and air hammers.... and I missed the part where the torque wrench came into play and the axle/bush bolt were renewed 😂😂

I'm doing my brother in laws parking brake and this was very helpful, thank you! He's unwound the adjuster quite far from the retaining clip, which is also missing, and I just can't get it free. How important is that adjuster and does it need the retaining clip in place?

I don't think you loose transmission oil from transmission side as its male spline transmission side which slots into the female into drive shaft with a rubber seal is there not?? or am I mistaken...

Hey, I wish I would have come across this a few years ago. Had to teach myself. Question: Why dont you put the fuel draining from the old diesel filter into the new one? I tend to do that, after a few seconds to make sure im not putting water in there. It makes the engine start much easier/faster (seconds, on the first attempt). I am not an expert so genuinly wondering if I am missing something here.

how much do you think this repair would cost, the suspension repair? just after a ball park figure

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. So it's approx 1 hour labour (£70-£80 +vat) then the price of the whole arm, which will be around £30-£60 depending on brand, maybe a bit more. So total ball park, shouldnt' be anymore than £200 all in and that's rounding up. Hope that helps.

Finally a thorough mechanic. Why is it always bare minimum with everyone. If youre gonna charge up to £75 an hour, do the most thorough job possible.

This video is very helpful but location of the plastic cable junction on my 2015 VW Passat Wolfsburg (US market) is in an even more difficult to reach location. It's clipped into a channel at the top of the engine compartment. All you can see from the wheel well are the two light blue pins that protrude thru the channel. These are barely reachable but I was able to use the grip end of a long breaker bar to press these two pins back thru the holes. I could then grab the closer end of the cable to manhandle the cable junction out from behind this channel. At this point just by pulling hard on the junction itself I was able to trip the hood (a.k.a. "bonnet") safety latch. Wow, what a relief to hear that popping noise when the safety lockdown released! But what a unpleasant (!!) task to remove all those Torx screws holding the wheel well splash guards!

Any extra advice is much appreciated! About to try this on a 2015 golf tdi. I broke it the first day I had it and I've not been able to pop the hood/bonnet since and I've been a little concerned about the battery because the TDI seems to need a little more juice to get started

Great vid and thanks for posting. I'm going to do a mid service oil change on my Disco Sport. A question, after changing the oil do you have to reset or change anything through the scan/diag tool or do you just change over filter and oil and go?

Regarding the pipe twisting when undoing the flare nut I’ve had this problem my solution was to just unbolt the wheel cylinder from the backing plate and held a spanner on the flare nut and just turned the wheel cylinder off the nut/pipe and fittings in reverse and then just nip up the nut

Thanks for great video, I have a Fiesta zetec, , great reliable car, I will watch out for this issue , would have loved to see the Throttle relearn you mentioned , I don't have scanner, if there was no throttle positional change during the track cleaning could you get away without the relearn , what if no throttle relearn was carried out , what affect would you see.
@greenautoservices
@greenautoservices Месяц назад
@@stevekeen just a throttle clean around the butterfly valve didn’t have an effect on the car at all. Literally plug and play. If you clean the tracks though, that’s when I experienced a no start until I had to recalibrate the throttle body. In hindsight, I should have recorded it but if I get the opportunity to film a throttle calibration I’ll be sure to film it as an extra. That’s why I’ve suggested to have access to one just in case. This only happened when my car was 13 years old and over 120,000 odd miles. So unless your car is close to that age/mileage then I don’t think it’ll be an issue anytime soon. Thanks for getting in touch though 👍🏼
