Man, wish I knew about this. Didn't even know a meet and greet was even a thing for Mortal Kombat. I was one of the OG players since the days of MK, all the way to MK3. After that, I just lost interest because the game changed too much. Nothing beats the feel of the original MG though. It sped up in MK2 and of course, MK3 carried that over with more characters, enhanced graphics, and more moves.
Mr.Gattis (or however you spell it) down in McAllen, TX had one in my youth. Maybe like 1999? Early turn of the century. Definitely one of my favorite arcade games to play of era along with Hydro Thunder and Silent Scope. Is this arcade game still in Mesquite TX?
