Ive been told since i was born with a blind right eye, and my left eye is so poor that it is in the "legally blind" category too, that id never be qble to get a TN drivers license. I just turned 38 yesterday. This is giving me hope....I need to fibd a low vision soecialists..

I wish I could help you. There is much more to it than the eyeglass prescription. In order to prescribe low vision glasses the doctor and patient have to be together for a low vision evaluation. I’m sorry but there is no way I can help you from thousands of miles away.
Thanks for the question. Low vision glasses and other low vision devices magnify what the person sees. Making things look bigger makes them easier to see. Of course, that requires some remaining vision. If the eye has no vision nothing will help it see better.

I am visually impaired and have very low vision, which significantly impacts my ability to read writings on paper, even with reading glasses. Currently, the only way I can manage to read is by taking pictures of documents with my phone and zooming in on them. This workaround is far from ideal and has become increasingly challenging and psychologically taxing. You don’t say what has caused your vision impairment. I recommend that you visit an eye doctor in your area to find out what has caused the poor vision. Then ask if the doctor can prescribe special glasses to help you. If not, ask if you can be referred to a doctor who can help you. Good luck.
A ball hit my right eye and lost vison due to unawareness it delayed 4-5 years and after such delay went to hospital and it was Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment after Surgery vison got restored upto 21/100 after 13 years recently again it detached and after silicone oil removal again detached so now attached with silicone oil and still silicone oil present in eye ,post this Surgery iop increased to 54 and immediate medical intervention was done But doctor told me optic nerve damage and poor status I'm thinking it may be due to silicone oil mechanical pressure it can be reversible right??? Visual acuity now: HM+ only Can I expect vision improvement after silicone oil removal If yes consider most cases give me rough possible potential outcome???

The patient may benefit from both or neither. Prismatics and telescopic glasses are very different and are for different purposes. The patient needs a low vision evaluation by a doctor who has the skills and experience to determine the best way to help.

Of course, ii would not be safe, or legal, to drive with a complete vision loss to one side. You should ask your eye doctor or neurologist about your chances for recovery.
A very good question. Bioptic telescopes are mounted near the top of the regular lenses and are used for distance vision. Different types of telescopes can be prescribed to use for reading. They are mounted lower in the main lenses.
Thank you for posting this. I'd pretty much given up on reading physical books. But now I know there are options that will allow me to read them again.
A few days ago I got prismatic plus lenses for reading too. It's amazing! But when I read for a longer time my double vision comes back. Do I need more prisms? Do I have to go back to my optometrist?

Thanks for connecting. Low vision glasses are prescribed by an optometrist like me who will do a careful evaluation of the person's vision and their goals. I just saw your RU-vid video. I have been very low to No vision in my right eye since I was a kid. I have been having major problems with my left eye. I got shots for 6-9 months. It didn’t help! I did a laser treatment 2 times, 6 months apart. My thing came right back. I’ve been doing shots of vibismo for a few months. Nothing is helping. I just turned 50 and my husband is out of town for 2-4 days at a time. I already don’t drive unless I absolutely have to. Can these glasses help me? They look like they might.

So they said, but I looked it up and no specific law is written on Bioptic driving. I still want a pair of bioptics, so I will look around on eBay. Thanks for your time. So it looks like reading telescopes might be suitable for reading music in an orchestra while also keeping an eye on the conductor looking over the telescopes. Do you think this will work?
My mom failed the vision test due to her cannot see the third set of letters. She read the first two sets but cannot see the last set. She tried different equipment but cannot not really see the last set of letters. Hence she failed. This is in FL

Dr. Armstrong, My father has AMD. I am wondering if these glasses would help him. He is 88 years old. He sees a Macular Degeneration doctor regularly for shots in his eyes.
