I wish Singapore had this kind of modified amf pinsetter. All amf pinsetters in Singapore just sweep up when it's a strike. The pinsetter never comes down:( Anyways, I live your channel:)
@Little_Lim. i think that's the 82-90 that doesn't come down. I made a mistake in the thumbnail calling it the 82-90 as others have pointed out🫠 I'm glad you like the channel! I'll do my best to find more Amf pinsetters to film😉
As a mechanic 1st off center the shaker board too keep the pins from getting stuck, 2nd make sure that you have decent pins in the machine before it is posted to the public and everyone can make a comment about it.
@GlennMoyers I'm not the mechanic of this bowling alley (just wanted to throw that out there). But the pins being weird was purposeful, to be honest I didn't notice there were 3 stuck in the shaker until I reviewed the video.....but the odd pins are what makes this video unique, in my time of bowling I can't say I've ever seen 3 pins jammed in a shaker board haha. Anyway, the owners of the bowling alley should see the comments and hey....maybe it'll motivate them to fix things😁
@@TheBowlerYT really? I thought they are the most common... or were at least. Linds by far have the best pin carry and life combo of any pin imo. Maybe amf pins are cheaper. Interestingly, Amf and brunswick (not synthetic brunswick) pins fall at D whearas linds fall at C#/ Db.
@Koeni_Nick13 No Brunswick has the most common pins. But I think they are all good, and pin life is determined by how well the machine is maintained. (That's my opinion at least)
@user-ns4cc5lv7z usually when one is left standing it doesn't fall and the machine picks it up. At the last second, a pin slowly rolled over and knocked it down. (It doesn't happen to me very much)
There's so many of them, I'll just go with the most recent. The first 8, Greek church in the 9th, then struck out. 11 strikes in the game and only shot 255 😂
@Freaks366880y3c That's brutal man😭 Something I noticed about bowling, you could bowl amazing the whole game but 1 frame could make a game go from above 280 to like you said down to 250. Such a wild sport😂
Absolutely. I lightened up on the speed while concentrating on hitting the mark, it was disastrous 😂. Then I went for the spare instead of getting the pin count and dropped it in the gutter. Total disaster lol
@Freaks366880y3c ah yes bowling is fun as it is hard. I always seem so barely miss splits when I go for them and when I don't, I convert them lol Thanks for commenting🙃
So these 82-70s actually look for pins even on a strike. I like that....that's what they should all do! I can't tell you how many times when I was in my league, a camera failed to detect a pin because it was slightly off spot, and told the machine to just throw the pin away and set a new full rack. So annoying.
@Sharkie626 yeah it is a bit of a downer. I get that the idea is for them to save power and additional movement but when like you said the camera doesn't work it's a bit detrimental
Why the AMF masking? A-2s are rough on my new ball. It got scarred up my first time out with because of the way the A-2s ball wheel work! Love AMF systems for that!
@@TheBowlerYT it's a cheap way out for these new bowling centers. i live in massachusetts and we do mostly candlepin bowling but they have built these new tenpin bowling centers combined with these new high end shopping centers and it's more about eating and drinking than the bowling and it's string bowling for the casual bowler. i do not care for it.
Unfortunately, I don't make the rules for bowling...and so the official answer is....SOME string pin lanes are approved. Personally, I don't think string pins should be used for competition though.
Literally looked like free fall. There's a lot of hyperbole and fear of change surrounding this issue. If it saves the centers and the sport I love I'm all for strings. In essence bowling is an imperfect game any way.
@thebowlerYT After the counting phase, after the table receives the pins, it creates a gap about 3-4 centimeters down (it goes down). how to solve this? what is the problem?
Just from guessing there could be a few causes. Electrical: sensors are off and need to be adjusted Mechanical: parts that handle the setting table are worn and cause the table to lower more than it needs to Programming: is the pinsetter set to raise and lower where it needs to? You should be able to run a diagnostic on the machine. Let me know if this helps
@@TheBowlerYT No problem! Love that machine since my kid years when I first saw them. Look like that place takes care of them too. Pretty quiet and very clean.
@Sharkie626 DEFINITELY, I think this place has the most well maintained lanes in the area. It may not be big, but they definitely put in good effort on maintenance. Thanks again for the support😁
These are a BAD idea. It's not like a computerized counting system or automation, it messes with the core principle physics of the game. It totally effects how the pins interact. They dont travel normally after being hit. They can't tumble, topple or roll properly. If you watch up close footage, you can see the strings hitting and wrapping around each other causing them to move without the actual pins touching. Theres absolutely no benefit to string pins other than it's cheaper for the house.
@@TheBowlerYT Cheaper on the front end. But you know bowlers. You can't mess with their game. Bowling centers with these are gonna have a huge drop off. The only people bowling will be kids at birthday parties and couples who date. All the moderate to league experienced people will jump ship. I know I will.
