The only thing I would do is change the tile countertop to a surface that has the same color as the tiles. I know it's "retro" but tiled countertops are pretty useless.
It's actually a garden window not a bay window, garden windows jut out like that from the wall and bay windows are half of a hexagon built into the walls extending square footage. They also don't have any glass on "top" because it's just the roof connecting to the flat window

An inexpensive option is to have a stick-on, motion activated light for the bathroom. It will come on when you go in there and you don't have to carry it.
Having plants in your bedroom is not smart actually At night the use oxygen, so unless you sleep outside i wouldn’t recomend it.. Although it does look nice :)

Yeah no way that's from the 50's, my place is from the 50's and everything is ugly metal, horse hair textured plaster and infinite coats of lead paint on wood cabinets.
