I remember that day of the Blackout in 1977, I was living on Valentine Ave myself between 184th and 187th. I also remember being scared as a 9 year old kid and it was only me, my brother and my mom in one small apartment. People were breaking into stores and breaking into apartments, it was scary that one day in the Bronx. You could literally hear people screaming in the middle of the night in other apartments nearby. We were a block away from that park battle they were discussing in this video and I didn't even know that was going on at the time.
