In vain your image comes to meet me and does not enter me where I am who only shows it turning towards me you can find on the wall of my gaze only your dreamt of shadow
I am that wretch comparable with mirrors that can reflect but cannot see like them my eye is empty and like them inhabited by your absence which makes them blind (Louis Aragon, Contre-chant)
It is a silent piece not soundtracked but I this was ripped from a 16mm projection and this is the sound of the 16mm Mylar layers passing through the projector.. I think it’s more “authentic” than a silent digital version though!
Reminds me of Norm Macdonald's moth joke. Also, I knew Stan. Sold him smokes in Boulder. This is such a peculiar entry into the philosophical notion of what a "film" *is*, it's just so captivating.
I discovered your account just about an hour ago, as I was searching for "I... Dreaming (1988)" And I must say, I am smitten. The quality of content is something which can't really be put into words but just appreciated. I must apologise before I say this, but I loved "I have never been able to wedge my smiles and my panic attacks" so much, that I ended up pirating it off RU-vid into MP4 just to make my friends watch it the next time we're high. I subscribed pronto, and have even turned the notifications on. I'll definitely be recommending your channel to a friend of mine who's into filmmaking. You're damn good, and I pray that all you ever want in life, let it granted to you (as long as it's beneficial for you). May more power be to you. 🌻
The very thing that attracts and sometimes kills moths (the light) is allowing us to view their dismembered parts up close in a very fluttering, rapid, almost violent way. This is a dark poetry (about light)

My friend Vincent Venturella went to college in late 2000 and studied Brakhage. When I first saw his works, thanks to Vin, I was opened to a new medium of art
Interesting how Harry's mind works. He contrasts his simple, wonderful recipe with a sudden outrage about an incompetent journalist made something fancy …crocheted bedspread …out of something that should have been simple. Nice analogy. Reminds me of Antonin Artaud
you sir, are a stereotype of the non-creative who adore far far far too easily. Ask an average person about him, and then ask a (talented) working artist, and notice how vastly different their opinions of him are.
