@@GoinSomewhereElse The clip I saw (on RU-vid) was solely about Spain, but other countries like Italy have been joining the bandwagon with cities like Venice who now charge a daily admittance fee and have expelled cruise ships. We witnessed the craziness in Dubrovnik Croatia when two ships dumped several thousand tourists in town. One minute I was enjoyed my kodak moments and the next we were mobbed and almost trampled. 2024 is supposed to be the busiest tourist season ever in Europe.

We have been on HAL Nieuw Amsterdam several times in the Caribbean, it is still one of of favourite ships. We enjoyed our transatlantic cruise on the Enchantment of The Seas so much that we will be doing two Atlantic crossings this fall. One, a rare west bound cruise from Florida to Lisbon, Portugal and five days later we will return home on another transatlantic from Barcelona. No long flights at all this time. I can't think of anything we would or will change.

The normal drone videos you see on RU-vid really do no justice for the Gordie Howe International Bridge. It's absolutely huge from the perspective of a boat. It's an amazing feat of engineering. Great video. I happened to also do a Transatlantic cruise onboard the Enchantment of the Seas. However, mine was Eastbound from Bayonne, New Jersey to eventually, Civitavecchia (Rome) Italy. And, I LOVED every minute of it (as it seems you also loved your cruise). We left New Jersey April 30th and had some pretty rough seas for the first 5 or so days. The only thing I didn't like, was that for the 6 time changes, we LOST an hour for 6 days. So, that part wasn't the greatest, but our total cruise was 15-nights, so I guess we both worked out to having a 14 and a HALF day cruise, since you gained a half day and I lost a half day. Like you said, our cruise was WAY cheaper than our 1-way flight home. PLUS, they fed us LOTS of great food for 15 days on the cruise portion! So, next time, I think I would fly to Europe and then cruise the WESTBOUND leg back to the US. Thanks again.

Hey Patrick, Thank you for watching the video and for your comments. We really enjoyed our time on the Enchantment of The Seas and actually looked for another date to cruise on her. Hopefully someday again. East bound transatlantics do appear to be a bit different. The 23 hour days might take some getting used to. We loved the west bound 25 hour days at sea. That being said, we are planning a couple transatlantics this fall. A rare east bound transatlantic to Lisbon then back to North America on a west bound transatlantic. Lots of sea days. Cheers! Gary

Thank you for your comment. We have cruised on Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam several times and really enjoyed HAL. Beautiful, elegant ships. East Bounf transatlantic might be a little different. Sea days will most likely be 23-hour days rather than the 25-hour days traveling westbound. The sea may not be as rough but still best to be prepared if you or anyone in your party gets motion sickness. Enjoy your cruise! BTW, noticed your RU-vid name "Love Canada Geese". We live near Jack Minor's in Kingsville which is a large migration stop for Canada geese. We have already seen some Canada geese return early this year.
