I was born in London England in 1952, and become an immigré to Canada when I was 8. I grew up in Montreal during the tumultuous events of the 60s and 70s, studying anthropology, linguistics and art at McGill University, and travelling Europe, Asia and the Middle East, reveling in the vast and varied history and art of such diverse cultures. I went teaching native students in northern Quebec, where I met my lovely wife Roma and moved to Toronto, where we had our two great kids, Sarah and Matthew, and I went to work designing websites. Although I still dabbled in art, I had all but forgotten my dream of actually doing what I wanted for a living. Then I discovered the Artist's Way by Julia Cameron and now run an Artist's Way Meetup group, where I try to offer people in my situation the belief in themselves to follow their artistic heart. My current project is my long-delayed novel The Acts of Simon Magus in the First Century AD. Check it out! http:www.simonmagus.com
Saw hawkwind ,probably 30+ times since 1976, and not once ,did they play the same song ,the same way; twice! They are a force of nature, like British weather, if you don't like it; wait and it'll change. R.i.p Nik, bob and Huw and lemmy .
@@andiross8898 Nah - I've also seen Hawkwind dozens of times over the years at both concert halls & at motorcycle rallies & can tell you that they maintained the new tempo of "Master Of The Universe" (as on the Live '79 album) every time they played it when I have seen them live. I much prefer the tempo on X In Search Of Space & on Space Ritual. I don't like the newer version at all.
@@ANationalAcrobat-qj2dl with Nik or without Nik seems to be the key in this case,( just my opinion) Have you heard nik and huws version performed as tootinSKAmoon? The reggae version?
@@ANationalAcrobat-qj2dl didn't ask if you liked it, the fact that it was Nik turner and Huw Lloyd Langton performing it is good enough for me. But hey ho. You can lead a horse to water.....
I was lucky enough to see Motorhead at The George in Croydon on their debut tour in Summer 1975 just weeks after Lemmy's sacking from the mighty Hawkwind. They played the gig in the first floor ballroom to less than 100 people at about 135 MPH !
I am still with my girlfriend and wife to be. But so often i think about what if destiny has something different in mind for us? I am not religious but i pray to the gods that nothing will ever separate us. I can't imagine life without her and i never want to. This song is a beautiful reminder. Thank you!
Gay Schmay ! Utter rubbish. Not content with robbing the World & the English Language of the lovely word Gay, the LGBTQ+ Squad are trying to put their twisted stamp on everything as usual by branding this delightful romantic comic romp as "one of their own". Intellectual claptrap !
In my humble opinion Hawkwind are one of the best live bands! I've been lucky to see Hawkwind many times live and I managed to see Motorhead live at the Margate winter gardens in 1984 I think it was, part of the No Remorse tour, fantastic!!!!! I must get out and see some live bands, stay high, stay free! 👍👊🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸.
@@Andy-ub3ub Oh dear? Lack of understanding is so sad, I suppose there's always destroying ones liver with Alcohol or destroying ones lungs and health with Nicotine? It's funny the death toll caused by Alcohol and Nicotine far out number the deaths caused all drugs put together each year. Stay high, stay free and broaden ones mind, just think. Calling this a "gay classic" is a stretch - first 'talking bromance" is more to the point. Either way, the near-century-old 'Sunny Skies' breaks a lot of rules and challenges a few stereotypes. Had it been released a few years later, emboldened Hays Code censors would have left great curls of its footage on the cutting room floor.
Wow their faces were dipped in a sack of floor, and the black thick eye brows would even make Joan Crawford envious, and now we know why Texas isn't the home of the silver screen because they can't act. Thank God, Hollywood, CA.
That photo has got Lemmy, Terry Ollis and Bob Calvert together, so was taken after In Search Of Space was recorded and released (with Dave Anderson on bass) in October 1971 but before Ollis was phased out due to heavy Mandrax use and replaced by Simon King in the first couple of months of '72. Also absent is Huw Lloyd Langton.
@@ackerjawaka4742 The man with his hand on show is Lemmy as far I see, but Calvert could still be talking too his hand especially if it hasn’t got anymore acid or mandrax clenched in it’s fingers 😵💫
