I'm a parenting expert. After many years of fostering troubled teens, I learned how to help them become self-governing. When the BBC network heard what I was doing, they featured me as the World's Strictest Parent. They sent me the "worst" kids they could find, and we all watched their lives transform in a matter of weeks. I want to teach you the skills I used to help you do the same in your own home.

Do you need help with parenting? Despite your best efforts at raising children, is your family dysfunctional? Do your children set the rules and have control of your home instead of you? On this channel, you'll learn and develop parenting skills and be able to create a united, happy family.

Since 1999, Nicholeen's seminars, workshops, one-on-one training sessions, parenting videos, and books have helped thousands of families worldwide regain peace, be happy, and maintain unity in their home by teaching them to use effective family systems.

Videos like this makes me cringe. We are deliberately trying to make everything a syndrome, denying basic normal children behavior that tiny humans have experienced everywhere, in every time. It's the history of the world. They will eventually grow out of it, we just need to be firm and loving. Videos like this are really dangerous in the hands of stressed out parents. Engage with them, give them interests, your children are ok. It's just really hard being a parent and we need to embrace that without rushing to find syntoms and syndroms which we can magically cure with the right "parenting trick." it's SUPPOSED to be hard😂 embrace THAT. i will add that there are surely some good advice in this video, some of it us just common sense. You got this, Love from Italy

I’m here to learn how to reparent myself. I’ve always been a bit shy, but it was the most intense when I was a toddler. I’ve been dealing with toxic shame, guilt, fear, a victim mentality, and several narcissistic traits for the past 15 years. Thank you for your insight ❤

Personal attack on me. Dad is a push over and gives in constantly but when I am the discipline, she is downright NASTY to me and the only other person I have seen her be this way to is her teacher who has in the past few months has also cracked down because she has given her tons of grace. Now that she has consequences... She is so bad.

Love the advice but these people so out of touch with reality, most households now uh days have two working parents. Kids spend most the day at school and after school programs or babysitters. So your tell me in the four hour window I have at home with my family because this government is trash and we all work to much for practically nothing but food and a roof over our head, your telling me I got to do some 24hr course and other nonsense. I bet my kids would listen better if they wasn't being raised by the school system and daycare centers and actually felt like they was in a family. Everyones always working and it's fuckin ridiculous. They system is destroying family values and family time and trying to replace it with individualism and self obsession so we can all be good little workers and pay taxes. They destroyed the family dynamics and they did it to the black community first and now everyone else by allowing women in the work force to double tax income as if it was a positive thing for women to start working 40hrs a week and abandoning they kids to the system in pursuit of income greed and self

As a psychologist, with an actual degree in psychology from a top university, I'm warning viewers to beware of TeachingSelfGovernment and their wonky advice. This person clearly has no clue what they're talking about. It's evident that they're self-educated from reading pop psychology websites. That is NOT a substitution for formal training, and his advice could very well do more harm than good. Bear in mind that someone who spends their time online, offering advice to strangers in an effort to make themselves feel superior, is not the person you should listen to if you're in need of psychological help. Find a trained therapist who has a license to practice in good standing, and don't listen to amateurs who know nothing about psychology.

My 7 year old son is a twin and has ADHD with ODD. He has the kind of ADHD where when at his worst he cannot be physically stopped from running back and forth, running into things, often gets clumsy because of how fast he is running, cannot sit still anywhere at all, etc. His ODD I guess is the part that will make him say things when he's not happy with what I am saying or whatever such as I hate you, I want you to leave, I'm going to kick you out, or even that he's gonna kill me (he's not physically violent at all, but he plays video games so thats where this comes from). If there are any specific things you can help with, that would be a Godsend at this point.

I love the paradigm-shifting concept that corrections don’t have to feel negative. Maybe children taught this way would be more likely to grow up with a growth mindset and less prideful inability to receive feedback as adults. Also, I love your choices map and cue cards! Both are on my refrigerator.

My eldest stepson when he was 12 told me, “Mom says you’re suppose to be a maid for us” His mom lost custody of the kids years prior to me. Lost all access due to her increasingly unhinged behavior to a point of criminal conviction. He never got better and only got worse, to a point he committed crimes against others. All the years of therapy did not help or influence a healthy mindset for him.

My belt whipping and paddling parents are both gone now, and it occurs to me I could have given them an even worse punishment by telling them "This is how I'll remember you for the rest of my life." Those "punishments" were the worst things to happen to me through my entire childhood, (maybe adulthood too, it's hard to compare). And who did it to me? How could anyone expect a kid to trust anyone who would do that? I thought: what if I did that to the car? Or the house? Or a tree? Or even the grass? Obviously, it would not be OK because of the damage. And you don't think it damages kids? My kids are in college now, on full scholarships. They've never been in trouble. They got the "electric" chair a few times when they were really little, but mainly, I gave them my time. I LOVED playing with them, and I loved them (still do), and they never doubted that for one second. On the rare occasions when they knew they disappointed me, that, in itself was more than enough to ensure it would never happen again.

My autistic 8 year old is going through this huge phase that I wasn't expecting until 14-16ish. Thank you for touching on neurodivergent people and their tendency to not understand or not being able to process "no" as an answer sometimes. Me during the book excerpt: "🧐it's me😶I'm the rebel. 😬😅"
