It is amazing, thank you so much for charing this villages. I think it is sad to make it tourism, the silence is gone then, all the birds and animals are gonna get scared away by the noises of the people and speakers they always place in such things. It is sad to see it emty without people living there, it would be better to rebuild it and have people living there in its original state.... i would love living like that....the peace is like gold 😊❤
It happens a lot now. Look at the bright side, the people who lived in there probably want to improve their living condition. And of course, people like us will probably find a place like this in the future to move in. 😊
@@mariskavh8724 considering how big China is, there are definitely lots of places like this out there. I’m not afraid of that. I also think there is a trend for some people nowadays to go back to countryside to rent a yard in a very low price to avoid chaos in the city.
Hey Jay, new subscriber here ~ I’ve binge watched all of your videos 😊 ~ I really hope that it’s feasible for you to continue on with these little adventures, as your editing and comfort with being in front of the camera are improving with every single video. I have especially enjoyed that you are able to speak in English to us, the viewer, but can ask questions and communicate with everyone in Chinese, as well as that you include English subtitles. I know that editing can sometimes be the absolute most drudgery part of this whole RU-vid journey, you’re doing so well with it!! I hope that at some point you are able to go back and get inside that ancestral hall, especially if you have ancestors in there ~ getting that information for yourself down the road will be so valuable for your soul ~ you know, it just gives you roots, and a sense of the path that they were on, and how you got to be where you are today. I hope you can record your own family history as well as possible. Keep at it, you are doing such a good job! You know, I’m an old granny here in America (Idaho) ~ I have 5 children, and 15 grandchildren ~ my husband and I have been married now for over 33 years… but I’ll never get to see these sights and go to China myself. It’s just not in my cards. But because of your excellent work, I can still enjoy the beautiful people and sceneries of China, and I thank you for that! Your work is really good, and I know if you can just keep at it, you will get more subscribers and become well known! I feel the same. Traveling did help me relaxed a bit. And, a bit of changing in lifestyle also helped! I guess sometimes, we just need to change and adjust a little along the way.
Payengxa Lor is a beautiful Miao/ Hmong Laos Miss Universe who competed in the last Miss Universe. Sunisa "Suni" Lee is a Gymnastic Miao/ Hmong girl that lives in St. Paul Minnesota who got Gold medal in the women all around in the Tokyo Olympic and is going to get more gold medal in Parid Olympic. So, pround of my heritage.
Thanks for sharing the Miao/ Hmong people from China for us to see. I am a Miao/ Hmong living in Atlanta, Georgia USA. My great great grand parents has fled China southward during the war with the Han Chinese and many Hmong end up in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Mymma. My great great grand parents end up in Laos. My parents then help the American CIA fought the Vietnam war and now my family end up in the US. I love to hear stories about my Hmong people.

Honestly, thank you so much for your comment because it literally told me something I didn’t know. And there is no way for me to tell which one has changed, the local Miao culture or the overseas Hmong culture from its original. I will upload a new episode shortly which is also about Miao market but in a different town. In the episode you will find that even in a nearby town their culture expressions are different. It was just amazing!

Wow. I loved the vibes, rainy and foggy climate makes up for a charming scenery. I hope your project reaches the algorithm because there're not many channels like yours, showing local china from this perspective. So far, I've been able to meet naxi, tibetan and now miao people thanks to this kind of channels, worth more than a thousand books on the topic. Keep it up, I enjoyed it very much😁

@@ThroughTheJayLens A few hundred years of hardship from China through SE Asia to the US. Our origin of Miao is too far gone, nowadays most Hmong identified ourselves as SE Asian American rather than Asian American. You should come to the US to learn more of our unique modern culture evolved.
I think it is good all year round. However, it is a bit cold during the winter though. There is no heater indoor in most southern parts of China during the winter.
I think the general ones which are being used outside of China should work. However, if you are looking for better deal or more options, the Chinese app like Fei Zhu and Xiecheng should be better.
Thanks for watching! For Chinese citizen, it is easier to book a train ticket on a phone app. Unfortunately, ordering a ticket using passport will only be available at ticket office. It is a little inconvenient. Most people travel to Fenghuang from Jishou or Changsha. To figure out whether there is a train from your place to Fenghuang, the simplest way is to go to apps like 12306 or Feizhu.
Interesting vlog…but where is Heku? You mentioned Fenghuang? What province? Where do the Miao people live predominantly? It would be good if you include more detail information like this in your travels. Thank you!
Thanks for watching! I included most of your questions in the pervious video. For your convenience, Heku is in Fenghuang county, and is in Hunan province! The whole Xiangxi area is where Miao people live. So, there are tons of places around that area are worth going. BTW, Xiangxi is the Miao and Tujia prefecture that covers a big part of Hunan province.
