Reagan by his own admission …’ loved show business’…this he extended into his Presidency giving an almost phoney image, his hair grease and nodding and winking, he deliberately gave off a 1940’s/50’s film noir look, it worked for him as he did the two terms, I thought from here in the UK that he looked a bit silly but I think he was cleverer than he appeared and unashamedly loved show biz and that’s how he chose to play it
President Reagan loved his eloquence. What a wonderful President. Sinatra, Rickles, Dean Martin and the others. What class acts. No swearing, no vulgarity, funny and classy. Take me back
Pres. Reagan was President in the 1980's. So many celebs were making so much more than the President's salary during those times. I thought that was unfair to Reagan. He was doing much more for the world then some entertainer. But after Reagan left office, he went on the "mashed potato circuit". He eventually made so much money that he was able to buy a house next to the Beverly Hillbillies house in Beverly Hills and he paid cash.
Our world needs to go back to times like this where everyone made pokes at each other and could take it with grace and humility. Ronald Reagan was an excellent speaker and perhaps the greatest President ever for how he carried himself and spoke to the nation.
Watching this and watching todays roasts, like the roast of Tom Brady makes me realise how far down we fell. It is just beautiful to see that once, long ago, people had class.
This is fantastic. I wish I could speak like that. I didn’t really live Reagan. But wow. He’s a natural. So many lessons in that short speak on how to do it.
Under Ronald Reagan's presidency, the U.S. was the best place in the world to live. Not that there were not issues, but you could feel him standing by and working on fixing them. You did not feel let down. And at the same time, he was such likeable and relatable human being. He was the greatest leader of the modern times.
