For those that love thread art. Where creativity is a place of restoration and healing. I welcome you to come and participate in my journey in finding myself in textiles, fiber art, metal work, and many creative outlets that inspire the curious child in all of us!
Do you find that the metallic thread stretches and/or breaks more easily than the thread that you normally use. When using it on my home machine I found it temperamental.
So beautiful Lorena! May I ask what you used as the backing? What do you mean by cutting it? I am not familiar with that word. You finished it so beautifully too.
Good evening all Hey Mrs Lorena I LOVE your channel and your work !!! You let us see the good bad and ugly and STILL be ok 🙌🏾🙌🏾 Thank You for that. I love your spirit
I had to put my foot down at some point and refuse to do quilting/sewing/whatever for others. It was not only stealing my time but my love. I will still occasionally do pieces for others, but no where near as often. Quilting is my hobby to take me away from the other demands and stress of life. If I let it become another stress? Not Good. And this is one of the reasons why I say, no, when people ask me if I quilt for others (as a business). I just retired from a job and not looking for another. I totally understand if you need to do less for others to heal yourself. It is like on a plane. Put your own mask on first, you can't care for others if you aren't safe yourself.
I can totally relate to this! This week... I have finally started to do some of my own projects. It's really hard to balance everything sometimes. Be safe and enjoy whatever you are doing!
The Proverbs 31 woman did not accomplish her plethora of accomplishments in one day, it requires a lifetime. So also, we ebb and flow. You are lovely, and we thank you for sharing your talents and thoughts. Infinite blessings, sweet Lorena.
Thank you for sharing your feelings instead of just disappearing like others do. Feels like I know you & I would worry & wonder what happened to you! Take time for yourself as you are doing & I can’t wait to see what you’re up to. God Bless you & I pray for peace of mind & peace in your heart.
Good for you Lorena. I too get the longarm for hire burnout. I don't do much of my own makes. Lately I have been squeezing in embroidery projects. It is new to me and fun, like your tufting. So hard to balance the work, that helps pay for our own project materials and then not have time for those makes.
Maybe that one huge project was too much. Perhaps doing some smaller ones for awhile so you can feel like you are getting stuff done and not bogged down with one massive project. It sounds like that’s why you like the rug making.
Yes I crochet, sew and quilt. I need to finish piecing a quilt but the length is so daunting. With crochet I keep one long project and a bunch of quick projects because I love to have results
This video was great. You have broken down the steps into coherent, easy to replicate steps. Thank you so much. I am on my way to finish my first large bed quilt using your techniques.
