At a very difficult time in my life , I met an amazing wise woman. Often she would have a pot of hyacinths on her kitchen counter. One day I asked why hyacinths. She quoted this poem to me and it has made a huge difference in my life. It is Persian I think. "If of all thy world goods thou art bereft, and from thy stores have but two loaves left, sell one, and from the dole, buy hyacinths to feed thy soul." I know you are a deep enough thinker to understand it is not talking about flowers. Lorena, feed your soul..buy hyacinths. Thank you for being a mentor. Your videos have taught me so much.

BOUNDARIES. You are a people pleaser. It's ok to say no. I learned a lot later in life. It's very freeing. I'm proud of you for doing something for yourself.

You need to fill your soul with your own needs ✨️ it's ok to put yourself first. Live yourself enough to do that. Your clients will also benefit from this. I always look forward to watching you. I love your humor, and I have learned so much about longarm quilting.

Always. Always such humility and honesty. Healthy for you, healthy for us. Thank you and thank God you are one of His called children. His grace goes a long ways and I’m thankful again that you have found your rest in Him! Great video!!! I’m sure there one or two (😂lol) of us that are feeling the same way! Just this morning I told my husband I was tired of ‘adulting’! Finish the race girl, slow and steady wins the race!❤

Holy smokes, this video spoke to me. I experienced burn out for a long time. It took a long time to understand that I was a people pleaser and had to build up boundaries and to realize that I count too. the boundary part is hard at first. People really don't like it when you don't do what they want. But then it became very freeing, and I fell in love with life again. Wishing you all the best on your journey.

What a wonderful talk. I think we all get there from time to time. I did with crochet, i kept going because i was afraid if i stopped, I'd never go do it again, but I realized if I didn't stop making things for a moment, i was going to break. We all have to figure out and set boundaries.. hugs and good for you!

I’m a NP in a very busy office & I’ve experienced burnout & currently trying like heck to pull myself out. Quilting has always been my peaceful space & im just not feeling it. I get it. I totally get it. Prayers for peace & grace for you. I’ll take prayers as well if anyone feels led. My burnout started mid 2021- worked completely full time during COV.*D, but in ‘21 suffered an injury but because of COVID could not get surgery due to staffing. Tons of pain until finally surgery in aug ‘22 & my mind has not been motivated since. It’s humbling & somewhat embarrassing. Negative thoughts fill my mind now that I’m 30 yrs older than my colleagues & I’m just too old & slow to keep up. It’s been hard. Really hard. So I truly understand what you’re going through & I’ll pray for you daily to keep your boundaries intact. Peace & Love from your fellow Texan.

Good evening all, hey Mrs Lorena I know the crossroad you are heading on because we sometimes fail to set boundaries when we love. Good for you for putting the breaks on. I enjoy your channel and most importantly your integrity. Stay strong and continue to find what makes you happy

You need to talk to the lady that schedules your work load and accepts the new projects! Tell her that she can only schedule two quilts to be finished per day, no matter what size. (That will give you a buffer for when you have to rip stuff out and start all over. It will also give you time to work on your farmers' market stuff. And your own quilts.) They come to you for a reason. They will wait if you schedule it and if you finish before the due date they will be sooo happy! 💖🌞🌵😷

I know it would cost to add venting, but it would be so worth it to move the actual lazer upstairs so you could work on it and quilts at the same time. Or have the computer in your quilt studio so you can design Lazer files for new products. Or bring stuff to be sanded or drilled, upstairs. Yes, it's nice having separate studios, but if it doesn't work, why not bring stuff to work on whilst the quilt is going? 💖🌞🌵😷

I completely understand what you are feeling. The last year or two have done me in. I barely want to quilt anymore, it is only my hobby, not my job. But I don't want to do anything but just be like you said. I am going to retire from my job this summer and work on getting myself together again. You are as important as everything else that put expectations on you, take that time for yourself.

My daughter felt like that. Terrible burn out. She has started taking control of her life and setting boundaries with her husband, children, family and friends. I saw the strength before, but now I see a different strength as she finally is turning everything around, especially with her in-laws.

Lorena if I lived close to you, I would totally allow you to quilt my quilts however you think is best. That is what my long armer does for me. So you could laser your butt off on one of my quilts, and I would say “Perfect! Looks great”. After all, I am a piecer, not a quilter…technically….
