The machine will easily sew through leather. I recommend a leather needle and either the HD Roller foot superstitch.com/product/janome-hd-roller-foot-9mm/ Roller foot superstitch.com/product/janome-roller-foot/ or ultraglide foot superstitch.com/product/janome-superior-ultra-glide-foot-9mm/
Thanks for the video! I was glad to find it as I'm looking into the 5300. There is not much reviews, or tutorials with this machine and that makes it difficult. Within the few reviews I found, there are mostly disappointed people. They complain about the machine having lots of issues and not sewing nicely right out of the box. Anyhow, I was wondering about the difference between the 5300 and the Skyline S7... Is it only about the features or does the Skyline Series have sturdier machines? Also, can you do with the 5300 "shirring with an elastic" by winding up the bobbin with an elastic thread while keeping a regular thread on the top? (I found out that it is possible with the S7).
You can do shirring with elastic thread in the bobbin on the 5300 or the Skyline S7. The Skyline is an 8 inch bed machine while the 5300 is a 6 inch bed. The S7 also has a lot more features. Both are good machines. I have not had complaints from my customers on the 5300. I suggest comparing the S7 to decide if the extra bed space and features will be helpful. Check out my Skyline series review. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E2zibIBxgmU.html superstitch.com/product/janome-skyline-s7/
noob question, but will a serger do the basic stitching that a non-serger sewing machine does? in other words: if i own a serger, will i still need (or want) a "conventional" sewing machine?
While you can do a lot on the serger, it doesn't replace a sewing machine that you would still need for basic sewing applications. Think of it as having a microwave, but still needing a stove and oven.
What a clear & professional instruction! No needless chattering - you get to the point and clearly demonstrate & address the points that you know are tricky and challenging! Great tips & tricks! Thanks
The easiest way that I’ve seen so far, thank you soo much. I subscribed, I liked it that much. You’re still helping people after all these years since posting this! 🫶😄
Absolutely love this video..steps visually shown and audio Makes it very clear on how to achieve these steps Thank you so very much for sharing with us!
😮😮😮😮 how many people would have that sewing machine ??? Surely there must be a stitch on the fancy machine , instead of an attachment, Didn’t see the gadget , I will stick to hand sewing !!
This video is absolutely the best & easiest to learn from. Clear & concise instructions that are easy to follow & best of all, no irritating music. If i want music, I'll turn on the radio. Tysm!🥰 A happy seamstress & a new sub!!
So precise, and the info is spot on. Ive always felt that it is the little things that raise the quality of the finished work. Im often times very frustrated because I want a more professional result. So glad ive found this channel. Thanks for sharing.
I wish it was just this easy. On my pc it gives me option to open the file in explorer, note pad and a couple other that are useless. I have been dealing with this type of thing for weeks. And when I try to put the file on my thumb drive it won’t recognize it. I have a dragonfly I got from embroidery library and my brother Stellaire that I just bought a couple weeks ago will not read my thumb drive. I have some really nice embroidery on my machine, but I want to able to appliqué designs, make small zip bags etc and I can’t . I’ve heard that I don’t need embroidery software and my youngest daughter thinks I may need it. I downloaded free versions of embrillance and my sewnet so I could see how they work and they are totally worthless. I’m so frustrated I could scream. The dealer I got my machine from won’t even help me, they treat me like I should already know how do this stuff. I do know I can’t use my tablet for embroidery, wish I could. I’m just totally lost. All I want to do is make really nice things on my embroidery machine, and I feel I just cant .
I'm sorry to hear you are frustrated. Just download the file to a location on your PC. Make sure the design is in .pes format and unzipped. With the Brother Stellaire, you can send a design wirelessly from your computer with Design Database Transfer. support.brother.com/g/s/hf/pcapp_info/ddt/en/index.html?prod=WLAN&media=i_txt If you copy the file to a flash drive, insert it into one of the USB ports on the side of the machine, select the "pocket" on your machine, then select the USB option that you have inserted your flash drive. You can also use your tablet and transfer the design using Artspira. If you still need help, let me know.
Do you have the blind hem stitch? Just use your regular zigzag foot and try to position the stitch so that the left swing of the blind hem stitch just catches the fold.
Oh man! I’ve been missing out on so much! It’s just very hard to *see* the markings on the plate to use them. I’m going to try to color them somehow to make it easier. THANKS❣️
Oh you are awesome, this is exactly the kind of tutorial us RU-vid learners need! No dinky music or annoyingly perky voices, just a pro clearly explaining the process. Cant wait to check out your other videos, I have a feeling you are going to help me take my sewing to the next level. Thank you very much for the video!
Thank you. I am very happy to learn about the other functions of the reverse button . I would like to know more about the different feet and how to use it on my 5100
