We are a couple who love Movies and TV. Editing videos for this channel has opened our eyes to a whole new way of looking at cinema, it's been a blast!! Hang out with us for some fun commentary/critique!!
I'm writing that my name is Josh and i'm writing that i've been reading online that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will have an official 4K HD digital release on Tuesday October 8, 2024. this means that everybody at home can do first time watching videos for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice beginning on Tuesday October 8, 2024. I can confirm that there won't be deleted or extended scenes included on the 4K Bluray and DVD release which will be on Tuesday November 19, 2024. that's the exact same day that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice becomes available to stream on MAX.
The symbolism of this movie is one of my favorite: Truman taking vitamin D for breakfast ('cause he's deficient due to the lack of real sunlight), the cross on the door during the "I'll cross my fingers to you" scene enhancing the sense of imprisonment, the magnifying glass having an unusual square shape (like a TV) during the photo-book scene, the names (Christoph aka Christ/ God / the creator, Truman aka the only true man in that fake world)... also the detail of the travel agent actress who had a napkin around her neck (she wasn't expecting to see Truman and was probably on her lunch break)
The military people are the Reevers. They are a mercinary military unit like Blackwell or Wagner Group or Haliburton. They are army veterns discharged due to serious injury but recruited on the promice of state of the art prostetiques by Alkalie Lake - Transigen -Trask conglomerate.
Laura's middle claws are in her feet. When she was quite little Dr. Rice wanted to put an Adamantium skeleton on her but his scientists said that (as she was still growing) an Adamantium coating on her skeleton would only kill her (slowly) But Dr. Rice said "But I want it now!" So they said they could put Adamantium on her claws as claws grow from the base outwards. So in order to save themselves the drama that happened with Logan they sedated her, removed the claws and coated them with Adamantium and went to put them back in. But before they did that they said that it would be better to put one of them in each of her feet like a Velociraptor. And Dr. Rice said "Yeah, Velociraptors are neat."
I think the state that Gotham is in plays a pretty big part of this story, but yes I do see your point. Still it's fund to compare sometimes! Thanks for commenting!
The scene in Dark Knight where Joker yells at his captive to "look at me" is what sold me on Heath Ledger's Joker. But I really love Joaquin's acting here as well!

There's a LOT of movies/tv shows in your list that we haven't seen i'll admit. Thanks for the recommendations! As far as anime goes we might do an iconic movie here and there (like Akira for example) but we're not that big on it.
Can't wait! I'm a single father and I had to play the game through tears at some points so I know I'll really be wrecked watching Season 2 especially if the soundtrack is similar to what's in the trailer!
@@takotako3321 holy crap 3 seasons maybe? 2 seasons i can see as the 2nd game was way longer than the first. Well either way im still hyped not gonna lie! Thanks for letting us know!
I can see it being 2 seasons but if they make it 3 then they’d be stretching it out abit. Only way I see it being 3 is if they explore the time jump abit
I saw this one in the theater as a teen. Glad you enjoyed it. Truman = True Man (the only one not performing) Christoff the Creator is very similar to Christ in the Christian religion Christoff giving few interviews bc he "values his privacy" yet he gives Truman no privacy at all. These are little things I didn't even notice on my first few watches.
Those were great, the 3rd one especially! For how little screen time he gets, Christoff is such a great villian. This is a movie we going to rewatch multiple times it's so good. Thanks for commenting!
Nice reaction to a great movie. Hey...did you know everyone is watching you right now on this channel called DNJ Movie House? How do you know you aren't a pair of Truman experiments? 😄
@@mikekay3313 i asked Jane what she thought and she doesnt know about being an experiment, and then she recommended we replace our old lawn mower with a newer elk rotary.
I think I speak in this one more because I've seen it before...but besides that I dunno man maybe our style just doesn't jive, sorry. Thanks for commenting!
I gotta say, nothing beats watching a movie while sipping on a nice hot Mococoa drink. It has all natural cocoa beans from the upper slopes of Mount Nicaragua and no artificial sweeteners!
Ugh. Unfortunately, a lot of "Flat Earther's" do use this movie as an example when discussing the supposed firmament. It's dumb and they're divorced from reality. Great Reaction. For another "High Concept/Sci-fi/fantacy", Dramedy, Jim Carrey Movie, My FAVORITE movie of ALL time is 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'. I guarantee it's amazing. Jim Carrey plays it WAY more subtle than The Truman Show, (for the most part). I always thought Carrey was a great choice for Truman do to the fact that they probably would have tried to condition him to be energetic and entertaining to watch. "The Truman Show Delusion" is a psychological condition where someone believes their life is a staged reality show or that they are being watched by cameras. It's a symptom of psychosis and is also known as Truman syndrome or Truman disorder. One last thing... You may want to check out some deleted scenes, (if you'd like to hate Marlin a little less).
@@OfficialDNJmoviehouse oh that show is worth watching for more than Stephanie Hsu. It’s over now, but really worth the watch. She was added in season 3.
You were actually pretty close when you asked if the film takes place in South America. The film is set in Guatemala, in a fictional area of it called Val Verde.
We'll take it! I don't think anyone else mentioned Val Verde so you've narrowed it down even more. Thanks for the cool tidbit! EDIT: actually looks like saebaryo2 a few days ago mentioned Val Verde and says this was the same fictional setting in Commando and Die Hard 2. Pretty cool IMO
Lots of people laugh at Hicks sleeping throughout the drop as if it was funny - it's critical for a soldier like that to get as much sleep as possible whenever they can before the mission starts, because there's no telling when they'll be able to sleep, let alone rest again.
This was very popular, and definitely a success. It made almost $85M at the box office, on a $15M budget, and even won an Oscar for Best Makeup. Before this, Burton’s first feature film _Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure_ made $40M, on a $7M budget. For being more on the unusual side of directors in the mainstream, he was cooking pretty well right out of the gate, and had a good string of successes. He hit his first snag with _Ed Wood_ falling short of even making back its budget in theaters, but it still got a lot of good ratings by major critics (I also saw it in the theater, and loved it). I guess not as many people were ready for a strange, stylized quasi-biopic about brutally (but deservedly) panned B movie (and that’s a generous description for his work) director Ed Wood, and how he ended up making _Plan 9 From Outer Space._ Of course, he didn’t let that setback stop him.
15m budget thats nuts, good on him for making that work. If he instead had a huge budget, would the special effects even hold up today I wonder? I've never even heard of Ed Wood, but it looks pretty neat! maybe we'll check it out.
@@OfficialDNJmoviehouse He probably could have bumped up the effects a bit, even on $15M, but likely wouldn't use a bigger budget to do it by more than a smidge, since that whole look is as much a style choice for Burton as anything, along with some doing what he could with what he had (which, to be fair, wasn't exactly just peanuts either). He has been pretty smart about knowing what will endure, and that it doesn't have to be any sort of cutting edge thing. If you think you might do a reaction to _Ed Wood,_ you might want to have a ridiculing reaction of _Plan 9_ first, if you're not familiar with it (and all us MST3K fans will "enjoy" that with you). 😆
@@OfficialDNJmoviehouseyou guys should the plot is a team ransom his daughter to get him to do a job, in which he then only has hours to save her very good film.
I've seen Rambo (2008) and little parts of the one where he's in Vietnam (I think it's First Blood Part II). Jane hasn't seen any of them so this might be a good franchise to look into!
@@OfficialDNJmoviehouse it is yeah that's first blood part 1 to many it's the favorite and regarded as the best. Yeah I'm sure the viewers would enjoy you guys bringing all those to the channel.
Point taken! I took a glance at our first couples of minutes... It's possible to leave the alien spacecraft part in, then start at 2:20 w/ the soundtrack going... choices choices. Appreciate the comment!
My guess, judging by the Spanish speaking terrorists and the type of massive rainforrest, is that this is somewhere in Brazil or Colombia. The Russians were there as either tactical support or weapons suppliers.
He builds a giant bonfire because it'll mess with his heat vision. The first trap was supposed to be seen so the alien would go around and he could release the other one.
@@OfficialDNJmoviehouse Yea, your correct, the pred was supposed to cross under the spikes so Dutch could kick out the trap rope held up by the log to pull the pred up into the spikes, its shown in the movie for a reason. Arnold laying the rope/vine fed through under the spikes. It just so happens the pred walked under the log for the initial intent of trap. Very brief moments are shown all this occurring.
@@jackbing499 It gave the impression the predator was always ahead of the game, even smart enough to see/avoid the initial spike trap. Dutch was lucky...but it made for a great final fight!
We did eventually land on South or Central America, but you're correct we missed that bit on the hostages part. We're going to miss some things, it happens > knowing when to speak and when to listen while reacting to a movie is something we always plan on improving! Thanks for commenting!
Watching the first encounter village raid as an adult its so over the top like they blew up everything lmao. They killed people with their guns then shot incendiary rounds at them after they were already dead lolol. Peak 80s
With the mud, you also have to remember that the water is no doubt cold as well. And i think Mythbusters covered if itll work. I think they said it could work for a few seconds. But i dont think they lowered the subjects body temp.
So, another group, a bunch of special forces military veterans who've been in combat and know about hunting men, tested out if the mud would actually work on their channel. Come to find out, the guy who they covered in mud, they couldn't find. I won't spoil how they eventually find him, which is funny, but it was hilarious. Let me see if I can find the link.
That seems to be the general consensus! Someone commented that it is mentioned in the movie Predators (w/ Adrian Brody) that this movie was set in Guatemala.
I used the same camera and it was actually true a thin layer of mud would block it. We paid $40k for the camera and they installed the program to make it look like the movie. Sonny, who plays Billy, had a bodyguard on set to protect others from him. Jean Claude van Dam was the original predator but was replaced. The first predator design was horrible lol. Arnold had the script rewritten because he said there was no way he could win in a fight. He had it written so he used tactics to win. If you aren't worthy of being a trophy you are either just killed and left or skinned but your skull was left.
