Personally I started with the Horus heresy, and I due course, when I was waiting for the next releases, I read the bloods angels omnibus, night lords omnibus, space marine battles, forges of mars trilogy, recently acquired the complete war of the beast, who’s I will read in due course, but once you’re down the rabbit hole, there’s no going back
One hard thing about getting into Warhammer novel is they bring up a lot of stuff that might seem hard to visualize if you don’t play a lot of tabletop like wth is a repulsor, what’s the supposed scale of a destroyer frigate or an overlord gunship? For that reason I think Graphical novels are very useful like Marneus Calgar or Lone Wolves. Oh and the book Nexus + Other stories is what got me really reading 40K great entry point. dunno lost a lot of 40k love after they giga gaslighting -.- many in my local clubs quit or dont show up anymore and from more than 40 regulars to mini tournaments only 5 remain

Storm in a teacup. I really couldn't care less. I don't often go for the two page spread as I find them often poorly written, that single paragraph you read was painful. Put that down to personal taste though I think I'm in a minority. But for Female custodies I think I fall in the I couldn't care one way or the other, if there's only one thing that would shift my view is that GW does handle these transitions poorly somethimes and it does feel like they are bowing before the screaming minority,

So you think it's B.S. that geneseed only works on males? The whole point of space marines is that the creation of one is a crude and primitive process. Space Marines were meant to be mass-produced, killing machines like the thunder warriors. The creation involves a ton of invasive and dangerous surgeries that have a decent chance of failing half of the time. Femstodes make sense because they use Dark Age tech to create them. Geneseed isn't dark age tech, it's current age tech. Asking for female space marines is just as ridiculous as asking for female thunder warriors. The imperium wishes it had tech like the UNSC uses to create spartans. If the imperium had the tech to turn almost anyone into a super soldier like the Spartan IV program there would be no need for space marines period. Problem is they don't. So you're gonna have to settle for the shoddilly made space marines, and only males have a chance to survive the crude and primitive process.

Its not that they want the female custodes that bothers most people I know. Its HOW they go about incorporating them. Why couldnt they have fleshed out the lore of the stodes and the sisters and come up with a more logical evolution of the stodes starting to recruit from them? Couldve have been some legitimately interesting concepts and stories explored there. Instead you get some asshat tweeting, since the beginning theyve always been there. Thats what upsets most people I know. Its lazy and disrespectful to all the lore and stories that have come before.
