A brilliant final novel. I especially loved how Abnett flipped the old power-dynamic. Instead of a more powerful Emperor holding back out of love, We have an infinitely powerful Horus subconsciously holding back out of love. The Emperor is cast as underdog Trickster rather that Godlike super-being.
I also thought it was interesting that Valdors spear pierced abbadon and he got a vision of the future, definitely makes the yellow king theory more plausible. Maybe building an army in his realm ?
You read all the written material for the Horus heresy?! it’s wild to think that just in that series alone you’ve read more books and novellas than a lot of people will read in their entire life. Like it’s a lot of content good work getting through all of it.
It's insane to think that the Horus Heresy is actually done. All 60+ novels including the Siege of Terra have been written, that's the full lore. Never thought you'd actually see the day
I like the way Horus redeemed himself and E forgave him. Leaves the door open for a Horus return. I also don’t think We’ve seen the end of Loken as his death was to sudden.
