Hello my name is Ed Diaz and my channel is dedicated to providing tips, tricks, and guidance to my fellow keyboard players across the world. My goal is to help us access our instruments to the fullest of their capabilities and thereby accomplish our musical goals, however small or large. Please take the time and look through my videos and I am sure that you discover topics and features that you had not known existed previously on your synth or workstation.
Thanks for this. How can I control (play) selected zones from an external keyboard? So say I have 5 zones making up a scene but want to control zone 3 only to sound when triggered by keys on external keyboard not from the fantom?
Thank you. I am in a duet and my guitar player's health has resulted in him retiring. I have an excellent keyboard player that is going to take his place but he is not that versed in mixers or setups. I have tried the single amp and it sounded terrible. He will be the foundation for us and needs to be stereo. He has a mixer for his setup but does not know why - you explained it. I am always working on the best sound I can get. Your video ready helps - thank you for taking the time.
What if you want to midi sequence the Jupi and send/record audio to logic at the same time and hear it in the context of an existing Logic project with other softsynths, etc.? To transfer the audio to logic, one will have to select the Jupiter X as the audio interface in Logic, correct? Meaning you cannot have another audio interface coexist in logic with the Jupiter, amirite? If that’s the case, that’s stupid and pretty much useless…
Ed thank you so much for these videos. It's quicker for me to watch these than it is to go through user manuals so I appreciate your hard work amd have subscribed to your channel 😊
So my keyboards should be at 100%? I’m told by band mates to not do that. But I’m having problems at our gigs with sounding like crap. I have Roland keys and. Key Largo mixer. What advice do you have?
i feel like 88 should be my main piano for Studio use and live. and 61 keys should be my second keyboard as a synthesizer as well because the 61 has more sounds than my Yamaha-P125.
They call me ed diaz too the boy in my profile is my son ..you're the the best musician maybe in the future we meet its other..my son's name acedson a.diaz 2years old..we are from Philippines..
Hey Ed! Here we are in 2024 and my Ax-Edge is currently on the FedEx truck out for delivery today! Thank you for this video! I really enjoy ALL your videos. The ones you did for the FA06 and VR09 really helped me. I’m sure these for the AX will as well. Warm regards sir. 🤘🏻🍺
Finally got all this basic info in one place...great video, better even than the official Roland versions....the dialogue with Scott was also very helpfull...
Estimado Ed: tengo el Fantom 7 y quisiera saber cómo se hace el efecto growl o splitone (son muy parecidos) para los sonidos de saxofon. Desde ya, muchas gracias.
Hello Ed. I have a FA-08 and I would like to use an external midi keyboard to play tones from the Studio Set (for example, configuring the piano to be played by the full keyboard of the FA-08 and a lead synth by the external midi keyboard). I didn' find in the configuration of the studio set a way to address the midi channel for the external midi keyboard and a way to configurate the tone to be played only by the external device. Please check if can you help me.
I’m importing a sample of a big sub hit, and while previewing the file before importing it sounds totally fine. after importing there’s a huge high frequency buzz when I hit the pad. I’ve tried normalizing, importing different file types, bitt rates etc, however they all sound fine in preview before importing, and all have a high frequency buzz after importing. any advice? thank you!
So how do you save SOUNDS and not programs/sequences? I just want to create a sound and be able to refer to it quickly in a gig - honestly doesn't seem possible for a synthesizer? What's the point of being able to create and alter the sound if you can't even save it? So disappointed w this keyboard to be honest going to sell it probably.
Wow. Ed you were amazing in this video. It was my first time seeing this. Roland is blessed to have you. Excellent job. You make me want to buy these 2 instruments.
