Bought some cheap Amazon Fans.. NEVER DO THAT!! Every one of them fell apart in less than a week!!! The fans are made of a cheap plastic that breaks apart from the heating and cooling that these fans go through.. They are obviously not Stress Tested.. Thank you for this great video!!

If you could spare $10 and you don't have the tools(like oils), or cant be bothered to clean, or accidentally broke the fan blades like i did, you could also order a replacement part instead, could be found online for ~$7-10 per sides for the cpu and gpu fans. just look up "fan fx505"

Justa heads up, you sould always use 99% alcohol on electronics. The 70% pharmacy alcohol still has too much water in it so it might be dangerous for the circuits.

I just did this like 10 minutes ago. I wasn't sure it would work because I thought that my fan had a problem with its rotational angle and that the sound was coming from the blades hitting the case. But I decided to try it anyway and the moment I started forcing the fan out of its magnetic place I found that the rotation got smoother. I took it out completely and applied some grease on the pin and now I have a silent fan once again. So thank you so much. Also, to everyone who's worried about the metal case getting loose after the process, once you screw it back to its slot, it'll be firm enough and won't move freely

I have a Asus Tuf Gaming F17 FX766LI This seems to be a problem with asus. First CPU fan conked off after I cleaned it. If you clean it this will happen. It was under warranty so I got it replaced for free. That time the tech guy was nervous he told me check the laptop. When I was checking he looked weird( I figured this out 3 months later that time I was wondering why was he so stressed) I heard something move like a loose part I asked him what it was he was dead silent. then I tried to move the laptop again it did not make any sound. I tried shaking it nothing happened. Then I like and Idiot ignored it. Now ASUS customer care told me that if I open my laptop for even cleaning the warranty would be void. Also I cannot upgrade Ram or SSD by myself I have to do it (free when under warranty) at the service center and also keep the original parts cause for warranty If I put knew ram I need the old ram. So I removed all of the stuff and gave it for service. So when I put back my SSD and ram I had trouble taking off the screw. I again ignored it. I could not go and ask the service guy whey was there problem removing the screw as I am not supposed to open the laptop. So 3 months later I added another SSD this time I thought I will take it to the service center SO I opened the laptop to remove other upgrades. That time this particular screw would just not come off. Then I somehow pulled it up and removed it. But I heard something cracke when I opened it I found that the Metal Thread housing is encased in a plastic kind of star shaped protrution that is coming out of the back panel. This plastic thing had broken half of it was gone and the thread had come out of it. So the screw was turning with the metal thread. Now I was screwed. I also bent the hole of the screw like a small dot size dent in it when I tried lifting it up with the tweezer to open it. Then I REALIZED fuck this is was that guys face was weird. He had trouble with the screw but somehow managed to fix it. I think he broke it. And if he had just been honest we could have blamed it on the heat the plastic can get brittle this was right next to the CPU fan which was getting heated. ANyways. Yesterday like an Idiot I cleaned by fans with compresssed air cans. Today in the evening the GPU fan just started making a whirring sound. Never heard this sound Before It was just like the one on the CPU but its it lot less milder. I may have ingored the sound on the CPU as I thought the fans get loud in these laptops. So I just flicked it with my finger and it stopped. It happend every 5 minttes then I removed it removed the fan and then tapped it saw it was moving very freely. So I put it back then no sound for more than 5 hours and right now it started making sound again. Every 5 minutes. I hit it once it stops then again starts after 5 minutes. Don't know what to do there is no warranty also. These fans are difficult to open I don't think this is a oiling problem cause the blade was moving very freely. It seems Asus fans are designed on purpose to get some sort of misalingment if we touch them like when clean them. Once it is misalinged it will not sit it. So My question is. Is it ok to press down on the fan blade? Maybe it will sit insde the hole properly? Or should I open it and oil it. I don't this can be opened I saw someone disable a new laptop and the said this has no screw and to remove it from the plastic thing is hard. But it can be done.
@covstv2466
@covstv2466 Год назад
I will not encourage you to do so if you under warranty sir if you care for your warranty please don't do this.
@rawraj1578
@rawraj1578 Год назад
@@covstv2466 The problem is I am under warranty but the service Technician messed up by screw and I did not check it properly now when I opened it home the screw is broken from the housing. So I need to find a way to fix that screw without which I will not be able to take it for warranty. Until I do that I thought a fan won't cost me much. But if something costly conks off like display(it gave me some weird lines once which went off by itself. So I am hoping that thing happens again when my laptop is under warranty so I can replace it then. Now my warranty is void if I take it to the service center as I have opened it.

Will try this fix in the coming days, I was lazy with cleaning my laptop and last time i opened it was 1.5 years ago, bought it in 2019 and the gpu fan started making rattling noises, opened it up and the fans both cpu and gpu where covered in thick thick dust, cleaned it up, and the rattle was not gone, completely disconnected the gpu fan cable and increased the cooling dock power and now I can at least normally function with work, gaming also still works I read only that the 1660ti has a limit of 88 degrees and during most game play it hovers now around 77-84 celcius depending on which game. I would assume completly removing the fan would decrease the temps instead of holding a disconnected one which would obstruct without a meaning of function. But definitely still best idea to get it fixed
