Kinda spooky to hear him talk,,JM like I'll let my bass shredding do the communicating,,,I wish they mix his bass player louder on all dream theater mix,, what a waste of talent,,loud stupid keyboard synth noise is what's holding this band back
I hate that kids nowadays have instant access to anything they even think they wanna learn. Back in the 90s I would’ve had to save up 70 bucks to get my hands on an instructional vid like this or Vic Wooten, pattitucci, etc. musicians had more mystique to them because usually you’d only “hear” about this “cat” who was doing insane stuff on an instrument for a few years before you maybe got a chance to see him or get some recording or footage. Nowadays kids go directly to the hottest players and start there lol no wonder kids are outplaying grown men after a heart
Please please play the bass line from in the presence of enemies. I love it so much, watching him play but rarely does the camera focus on him for any length of time. What an oversight!
I just love this man. He makes it look so easy, just like every maestro does. Recently found a video from Toronto 1993 where the whole band were doing all the big hair moves and playing up a storm. I feel sad that John Myung just seems to be overlooked by the camera on any official videos. He is a superb player, a lot of Dream Theater music is him playing the tune on bass while John Petrucci is soloing something else. Camera always on JP not JM. All those here making the “ he talks” digs should hang their heads in shame.
I love watching John playing live. However the camera people never stay on him for long enough. He is so underrated that all those people who like to take the piss should be on their knees grovelling to him. I thought John Entwhistle and Geddy Lee were the best, but John Myung is the best by far.
