Hey great video, the MM hunter of bicmex videos. Did you change your opener for the war within at all? Or is it relatively the same? Cheers, 🍻 thanks for the guide! Helped alot
Oh man that's such a nice compliment, thank you! Once I finish this season's glad, I will make an updated guide. Just want to make sure I have tested thoroughly and am speaking from experience, before I put information out there. Thanks for your interest.
A noob question: how much of a difference does a conq vs a honor weapon? I mean that MM spells, mostly, does physical dmg so it depends on weapon damage also right? Thanks :)
Hello! Yes, conquest weapon vs honor weapon is a big deal, especially for classes who hit with their weapon like MM does. Even if for example you're a mage, who doesn't hit with their weapon, the stats you get from a BiS weapon are still significant.
@@VinicentGaming Yo! For next season in TWW, no one actually knows what is optimal yet. Whatever people are saying about stat priority next season - just know it's speculative as things are still changing. That stat prio looks interesting, but we won't definitively know for a while.
Appreciate you watching the video! Hmm, maybe I will do a mini-guide early season, and do an in-depth one later in the season. Thanks for the suggestion.
Great video. Picking up hunter in retail for the first time so it's super helpful. How do you suggest managing the pet? Do you macro it in with some damage abilities, or is it it's own bind where you send in / recall your pet?
Hey thanks so much for watching! Yes, in pvp you want to keep your pet on passive (not assist like in pve) and control your pet manually. Personally I do pet attack = mouse wheel scroll up, and pet follow = mouse wheel scroll down. Makes it super efficient I think. This allows you to control your pet with your right hand while simultaneously using globals with your left hand.
@@Jaywaz Ok thank you. How do you decide what to attack with your pet? I.e. 1. Is it always your kill target? 2. Is it sometimes on the healer to harass while trap is on DR? 3. Is it on a different target to your kill target because the travel time for it to make it to your kill target is too large? Essentially what's your flowchart for pet management xD
@@dotaheroics Don't overthink it. The amount of auto attack dmg your pet does is SUPER minimal so you just keep pet on your target to apply pet mortal wounds effect. Also if you ever play SV or BM you don't really have a choice, because everytime you press Kill Command/Flanking Strike/Barbed Shot your pet switches to your target. I would say you pretty much never send pet on healer solo unless you're trying to stop a healer drink, and even then there's 10 other ways to do that faster than your pet waddling across the map lol.
Subbed, good guide clean and simple, as a suggestion I would do guides for specific situations, such as for example, 3v3 where 2 melees are rushing you, or which talents vs double caster team.
Hey man yes absolutely! More vids coming for sure in TWW. In the meantime, I did make a video detailing how you want to try to play vs double melee teams as MM Hunter. Granted it is from S4 DF, but the concept will be the same.
MM Arena: C4PAFBU0uAhOaNI6RqWjIx917BAAAAAAAAAAAAGzMjhZmZYmZGzMzMGGzMGAAAAAAAYGGzMmxYMZmZmZMzwsMzw2gZB MM Lone Wolf (BG's): C4PAFBU0uAhOaNI6RqWjIx917BAAAAAAAAAAAAGzMzgZmZYmZGzMzMGzYmxDAAAAAAAAzAzMmxMjJzMjZmZGmlZGWGML Just keep in mind that things are likely to change with tuning and the expansion release, but you can rock this for now 💪
My question is, HOW can you play with so many macros? How is this possible to make so many binds? On my warrior I'm on 37 keybinds and that's already with like 3 macros. I can't imagine adding anymore
Hey, I totally understand how it can be overwhelming! My advice - use shift, ctrl, alt modifiers to literally triple the amount of keybinds you have. For example: Q, W, E, R, T is 5 binds. Using shift, ctrl, alt modifiers turns that into 15 binds. Use pinky for shift + ctrl, use thumb for alt. It will take some time to get used to, but with practice you can become very comfortable with it. Good luck!
Hey, I prob won't make a prepatch guide since it's irrelevant, but this is my SV build right now: C8PAFBU0uAhOaNI6RqWjIx917NAAAAAAzMzyMmZGMjZGmZGzMjZGDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaGYGmZGjhxMzMzMDzyMjZbgF Just let me know if you need an MM or BM build too.
Can't wait to go through the guide. Too bad I'm not going to be able to put it in practice, I'm not going to wait 40+ mins in queue for someone to decline and bump it another 20 min
I hope you like my take on hunter! Yeah Q times can be rough, I usually just fly around farming herbalism/mining while listening to music. It's a vibe.
@@Jaywaz oh absolutely, it's a great guide. Easily rivals what Skill-Capped offers knowledge wise. I'll try bear through some queues just to try out these pointers
You have any clips of fighting 3 melee lobby in SS where the MM pretty much getting trained non-stop and have to self peel for the most part? Ret/War/DK or Ret/War/DH with monk/pally healers are what gives me the most trouble
I'll see if can get any 3 melee lobbies! In the meantime, my advice is to play binding shot + diamond ice and use these to self peel. Play REALLY far back and drag the melee out of range of their healer. In this situation you are never trapping healer, only using diamond on the melee.
Another nice video thanks for the upload jaywaz, I learn a lot with each new video. That being said, I think people want to know what we should be doing when a dk / dh are training you all game. None of these melee teams seemed to train you they all seemed too worried about your feral druid. The only time I dont get trained is when im running with a feral.
Thanks for mentioning that, you're absolutely right - as MM best case scenario vs 1 or 2 melee teams, ideally you're paired with a class that has high threat / high control, like a feral, rogue, boomy, sp, or a DK continuously gripping + chains of ice the melee off you. At the same time, the double melee teams in these examples are not training me because they are forced to go feral based on where I'm standing. Take a look back to the opener of game 2 - they were 100% attempting to go me but I was able to deny it with positioning. They had to give up and send their go on feral.
Glad you like it, I spent a lot of time tailoring it to my preference! I'm not using elvui, this is SUI. Maybe I will do a video on how to setup my UI!
I'm comming back after a while and am unsure of one thing. How do you have PvE tier sets and scale that same gear in pvp at the same time? Do I have to craft that gear somehow meaning I have to lvl my professions? And also this tier gear is obtainable only through M+ right?
Yooo, it's super confusing I won't lie. So, tier set can be on PVE or PVP gear. PVP gear has a tooltip on it that says "Increases item level to 528 in PVP combat." Your tier has nothing to do with professions, so you don't have to level those if you don't want to. You apply tier to your gear (regardless of if it's PVE or PVP) by going to the catalyst in Thaldraszus. For PVP, you would buy your gear from the conquest vendor, take it to the catalyst, then turn it into PVP tier.
@@Qwuarter Well, building your tier set through the catalyst has actually been in place for the entire expansion. But if you are just returning now I completely understand that it would be confusing! 😬
@@Jaywaz Yeah well this is awkward. I played the entire season 3 but I mainly played M+ resto druid and got all my set bonuses from the vault and never found out about the catalyst. I played PvP just a bit on the side and it never occurred to me that people need to acquire set bonuses somehow :D
Warriors are definitely hard! Don't feel bad. A good Warrior will cycle their stun/disarm/fear very well, that part is inevitable. Here's a few tips: honestly you need a teammate that has high control like Feral, Boomy, Rogue, or a DK that can continuously Death Grip + Chains of Ice the Warrior off you. You also need to use your Disengage, Cheetah, and pet freedom effectively to drag the warrior into a bad spot. Remember they are melee and you are ranged, so if they want to hit you, you get to decide where they stand. Try pulling them across the map and behind pillars where they will be ranging or LOS'ing their healer. I'm not saying it's easy, but continue practicing and implementing these ideas into your gameplay, and over time it will become better. Good luck!
Extremely informative, clear and decisive speaking & great visuals bro. This is the exact type of guide I’ve been looking for. I’m actually coming back to this video for a 4th time to learn better haha
Dang man that really means a lot, I appreciate you taking the time to write a comment and let me know. Thank you for watching, more coming in the future!
My pet's name is a reference to my favorite Greek philosophers, such as Plato, Socrates, and Bophades... as in boph a deez nuts in your face. BOOM GOT EM. I'm really sorry, I had to... Ok but to answer your question, about 90% of the time you want to play a Cunning pet with the Mortal Wounds debuff. That is Raptors, Rodents, Hyenas. Use this website www.wow-petopia.com/abilities.php to find which one you want and where to get them. The other 10% of the time, you want a Tenacity pet with Mortal Wounds for the defensive Fortitude of the Bear (you can play this pet vs comps that will kill you in stuns if you DON'T need pet freedom from Cunning). Right now I think I only play Tenacity pet into Cupid and Jungle. You could maybe play Tenacity vs RMP but usually you need pet freedom in that matchup. I really appreciate you watching and commenting, I'm sorry for my deez nuts joke.
@@Dark_Defender_ Thank you for having a sense of humor lol. For BGs I'd recommend a build like this: B4PA5ZKiUcehijAKxoiI1CP3g6ABaBApgAAAAAARiEJJJiIkk0EpRSkWRKaQSESQoBAAAAI In BGs you definitely want to play petless - you will have slightly less utility (no intim, ros, pet freedom, mortal wounds) but your damage will be noticeably higher. Go nuts with this, Lone Wolf style MM is so fun in BGs. Appreciate you watching the vids!
Trap out of Camo, as in standing on top of healer and freehanding a trap? Almost never as MM. You compromise your position too much, and any good team will just turn around and micro CC you to death, putting you and your team way behind. There's nothing wrong with Intim --> Trapping from range in opener, however usually as MM you get way more value out of your Camo using it for a free Aimed Shot --> Rapid Fire.
Thank you so much for breaking down your gameplay, you have no idea how much it helps people. Started farming my first glad wins today and your content is so on point !!
Ahh that means so much, thank you. My goal is to have this channel be primarily in-depth/educational style videos, so really appreciate you watching and commenting.
Thanks for the content! I started hunter 2 days ago after 3 years not playing once. I recognize fastly that keep distance is the number one goal, much more worth then push in to get traps and use all your abilitys just to land it.
Hey thank you so much! My goal for this channel is to have a focus on in-depth and educational videos, so I'm thankful there's an audience for that. Genuinely appreciate you watching.
Thanks for the kind words man. I promise, just continue practicing and you will get it! Record your games and watch them back to help see where you went wrong is super beneficial too.
Great video. Do you use action targeting in game settings? Sometimes when I have hunter's mark I still lose target for a few seconds(pretty sure it's not cloaked or dispelled). Or is it u anticipated that and retargeted him right away?
