Cool project, great work! I'm very happy that someone found grouting these tiles easy. I'm in the middle of this exact project & I'm almost in tears. I have white & gray peel & stick vinyl tiles, with iron gray grout made for vinyl tiles. Every time I wipe with the sponge, it's wiping the grout out of the cracks between the tiles. I tried wiping lighter, wiping super carefully so I wouldn't touch the cracks....nothing works. 35% of the grout I put in the cracks is being wiped out by the time I wipe the tiles clean. Im wiping immediately & doing very small sections. I went back over 50% of the cracks with more grout to fill them in, I let it sit for 8 mins thinking it would get a bit more dry in the cracks & not wipe off as easily. Now, I'm trying very hard to scrub it off the tiles with a scouring pad. & guess what, it's still coming back out of the cracks. A complete nightmare! I'm so defeated. Sorry guys. Just venting! I'm a pretty avid DIYer, but I've never grouted before. 1st & last time. 😢😮
Welcome to RU-vid. You did good for not ever having done this before. I used this same tile in my daughter's bathroom in 2020 and I understand trying to get around those corners and curves, it was nk fun. Thanks for sharing.
What I like about your video it shows the reality of repairs, it’s real and at times challenges I made a few mistakes fitting & repairing things too. But you go it
This looks amazing never thought of leaving grouting space with stick down tiles 😳 they look so much better. I will be trying this next time. Take care x
This looks awesome! The grout lines look so good that it looks like you used spacers. I would have never assumed you measured the spacing yourself if I saw your bathroom floor without watching this video first. How has the floor held up? I’m asking because I’m about to install this exact same tile!
I appreciate your honesty😊 I've been wanting to do my bathroom floors and watching your video gave me the courage to it. It looks beautiful, you didn't give up it came out amazing 👏 Thanks for the tips and for this video 👏
Did the existing tile and grout indentations impact the final outcome of your new flooring? I have ceramic tile but wanna slap some vinyl on top of it.
You mentioned earlier you were using spacers in between time for grout, but I dont see them, did you use them? Also is your old floor ceramic tile or vinyl? Tx came out nice
Although you can grout vinyl tiles, there really is no reason to other than aesthetics. But the amount of grout will be so thin it will become brittle and break over time. I would also recommend using grout sealer on top of the grout otherwise it will become dirty very easily over time.
Hey awesome you jumped in and started doing your own work. It may not always come out "better"... but getting it done always FEELS better and getting it done the way you want feels great! Good job.
Till the adhesive gives up and your tiles start looking wwoonnkkyy there's a reason why people explain things, not to be right about everything but to possibly help someone else. You're more than petty based on your video might as well tell people priming material before painting it is a waste of time -__-
I needed to see this video! It was hard trying to lay down the paper with the sink in the way 👏🏾👏🏾. Do you have a video of you using the epoxy for the kitchen?
Oh I’m so glad! Unfortunately we sold the house and I never had the chance to do the kitchen counters! But someday in our new home I would love to do something! I have a million more videos to edit but I’ve been in baby then wedding planning mode and so I’m behind! Sorry!! 😊
Im waiting how she cut the tiles for toilet bowl, im struggling that and still leave now tiles for now 😂 i already used 2 waste tiles for trying doing it but doesnt fit. Im hopeless on this😂😂😂
U go Miranda! Thanks 4 your channel. Best of luck. Do u happen 2 know if they have peel & stick counter top! I know, @ one time, it was available, but I can’t get any of my local hardware stores, on the phone, and if I were well enough, I would go there myself, but it sucks that they don’t answer the phone, ever. I’ve also tried many different iterations of words, to see if these still exist in countertops, and I come up with nothing, so if you happen to know, or anyone reading my comment, please hit me up and let me know where I could find such a product, And what it is called. Thank you so much. This is an awesome time when people are learning, for themselves, how to beautify their home & life, and I am all for it. I am so grateful my father taught me so many contracting skills, and how to use power tools, and I’m quite proficient, which is a testament to my father and boyfriend, teaching, to me, this invaluable skill set! Now, if only I didn’t have pains, debilitating me, I’d be a powerhouse, but I intend to make a full recovery and fix everything I ever wanted to! 💜☀️🌈🏡😺🐰🐶🥰ps. 💜 the comment about the dog🐶 hair, on your pants, and that’s just the way it is around here ! I so get it having a house full of precious animals, my fur babies, best blessing, ever; now, they make any house, a blessed & 😺🐶🥰happy, loved filled Home!🥰🏡🎁💜🐶🦋🦌🐭🐝
Hi there! I know they have contact paper but I haven’t seen any peel and stick tiles for counters, although I would checkout wall pops /floor pops if I were you. They might have some! Thank you so much for your comment and love for the post! Have a beautiful day 🥰
Great job! You persevered and got the job done. It would have cost you lots of $$$ if you hired a pro. I think it turned out beautifully. I'm going to do this in one of my bathrooms, too. This particular tile is listed at Lowes as "groutable". Thanks for sharing.
Hi Miranda Came across your video and am getting ready to the same flooring. Question, because it’s peel n stick and in the bathroom, have you noticed the tiles cracking or moving at all because of the humidity from the shower or the steam from hot water? I know you used grout so I wasn’t sure if that helps the tiles stay in place or if it starts cracking? The reason I ask, is bc we had our living room done with LVT tiles and because the flooring company didn’t use the glue, over time they all starting moving and we did not grout those. So we had to go back and redo all ourselves which wasn’t a big deal but a lesson learned. This was 7 years ago. But I wanted to ask about this being in the bathroom and if you had any issues with the tiles moving since you didn’t use the glue. Yours turned out great !!! I can’t wait to do mine. I’m also following up the wall with the tiles to Make it look like a ‘waterfall” effect and then putting a water base polyurethane on it then to make them alittle bit more glossy and shiny on the wall. We’ll see how it turns out! LoL 😂 alittle scared but whatever! Talk soon!
thank you for sharing how difficult it was because when I did mine, I watched so many videos and was like WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG. but my bathroom looks great now!
