Nice piano hinges, no holes. I can't find that around here. Since RV door handles require at least 1.5 inches thickness, I'm curious to see how you will handle that.
@@brodierip Not sure around 350 pound I am estimating. It is a prototype. If switching to aluminum for the frame can save wait. If you use cloraplast for sides and roof can also shave weight. It will have trailer brakes. Next one I have planned will have a pvc frame.
Hello. First of all, best wishes from Colditz, Germany. I also built a bicycle camper with a slide-out. But I'm currently in the process of rebuilding it and removing 90% of the wood. My floor plate now weighs 3 kg. If you would like, I can send you a few pictures. of the wood. My floor plate now weighs
@@RedCapMusik Video 43 has the new wheel suspension. Original wheels bent from going over the door threshold. "Tacoed" them. Bent them. If you check out the community can see photos and get updates. Also had to change out the stabilizer jacks.
Wait a minute... "The _other_ segment will come out"? It's a two sections slide-out? I can't wait to see more progress on that! I don't know if I missed it, but are you planning a full kitchen, a sink, etc? And last, are you keeping track of the total weight?
I am working on it in real time. As I work I video and post. By end of summer would like to be done. I am working on it in my spare time. Thanks for your interest and appreciate your follow-up on the build. Hope you have a great week😊
@@ElpeludoMosquetero Gracias por mirar el video. El proyecto esta en progreso, y lo grabo en tiempo real. Por eso no esta el producto final todavia. Gracias.
Im excited to see this finished. But I'm wondering with the slide out in the out position will you have jacks on it also? Just curious if it will want to tip to the slide out side. If that makes sense.
I watched a lot of bike campers projects in the last few years and I can't recall any with a slide-out section. I can't wait to see the completed shell and I'm curious about what you have planned for the interior. p.s.: being sick sucks, I hope you get better soon.
I am building something similar, we should take them for a trip together when we're finished. I gotta say yours is bigger, Im using a bedroll instead of a queen sized bed, I am curious, what does that thing weigh so far?
@@ED3 woah. Are you planning on a huge battery to move it or is it for short trips? I'm dying to see it finished. Bike campers are beyond addicting. It's fun to see mow much can be fit into so little space. And how light it can be built. Keep building
Now to make this for the poor and homeless. It's doable. Low cost, Mass production assembly line like the Model T Ford. Sold in high numbers make a little money on a large number sold. Use city "sweeps", tax money to purchase them as a personally owned property to keep stuff in and safe place to sleep etc. Off grid solar panels on the roof. 🏡
We could make out of PVC. Have a 4 wheel bike project to see how you could make it. That is my next project that I plan to do. Removable wheels no need for jacks.

Can you give more detail about wheels lifting more than 1000 lbs. for example brand. Where can I purchase? Trying to do a project that needs these kinds of wheels
Lappwagons.com heavy cart wheels. Amazon also sells them. 1/4 inch spokes. Great product. Girl in the woods on RU-vid built "Star Gazer" trailer she pulls with a 4 wheeler
between 300 to 350 for prototype. If it were for production would go aluminum frame to save weight. It's a ebike trailer. Will use a trike to tow. plus trailer will have brakes too.
Good job. Be curious when it has the extra weight of the walls and bed on that slideout if it will support itself before you put those legs down. If it has a problem maybe you can deploy the legs after just sliding out just a bit and then work it out a bit at a time.
250 approximately. It's a prototype. If I were to make it again, frame would be aluminum. When complete about 280 to 320 plus gear. It will have breaks. Plan to pull it with a 3 Wheeler e bike.
Yeah, some heavy duty 20x3 or 20x4 cargo bike wheels with the heavier gauge spokes would do better. Maybe even look to put moped wheels and tires on it. This is giving me hope on my own project.
