Mike Johnson, Country Music's No.1 Black Yodeler, was born in June 1946. Graduating from Catholic Schools he served two Vietnam tours on the USS Constellation CVA-64 (1967 to 1969). In April 1981 he did his 1st Nashville recording session at Jim Maxwell's Globe Studio and in September 1981 he became a long-distance trucker for Newlon's Transfer, which would play a major role in establishing him on the Independent Country Music Circuit. Writer of over 1200 songs, 114 of his yodeling songs are in the Library of Congress' Recorded Sound Reference Center's permanent music collection. In 2002 the National Traditional Country Music Association inducted him into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame and in 2016 they honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. James Adelsberger, signed to Mike's label in August 2012, received a CD of the Year Award in 2015 & 2016 and Mike received one in 2017. Since April1981, Mike Johnson has produced two 45-rpms, 11 Cassettes, and 65 CDs.
It’s a shame people don’t know the true you. How many kids have suffered at your hands? How many boys have life long trauma from what you did to them? You deserve nothing.
Mallorie Haley and Jillian Marie were two of the most fantastic and youngest yodelers at the festival that year. They were both backed up by Sherwin Linton of the Cotton Kings and Troy Cook who went on to be a movie actor.
Randy is an excellent yodeler. After we performed at Bart Plantenga's yodeling book lecture in 2005, we got lost on the NYC subway trying to get out of there. Plantenga is the author of the 2004 "Yodel Ay Eee Oooo the Secret History of Yodeling Around the World" and "Yodel In HiFi" his 2012 follow book. I'm in "Yodel In HiFi."
Thanks Nicolette. My friend, Bob Everhart, president of the National Traditional Country Music Association in Anita, Iowa, held these annual week-long festivals from 1976 until his death in 2021. His wife terminated the organization and festivals not long afterwards.
@BLACKYODELNO1 I just found out Sunday, May 26th, 2024 that this is my cousin. It was MacDonald/Williams/Dotson. Craig was on the MacDonald side if I remember correctly.
I just learned on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 that this one of my cousins on the MacDonald/Dotson side. Somewhere along the way it was MacDonald, Williams, Dotson, and Craig. Craig was only associated with MacDonald if I'm not mistaken.
So sincere … country blues version sounds so good , harkens back to the old days of blues man that passed threw New Orleans, like leadbelly, bukka white , etc ….
@@KGBSpyGeorgeCostanza Of course I know who Fritz Lang is. Performing since the late 1960s I've also had the opportunity to meet and personally know a number of excellent yodelers. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DL7_qKJ4GAQ.html
Miss you Linda Caldwell.. You were always so sweet in having us all be able to gather at The Coffee House of Occoquan and play.. So many fond memories...❤
Thank you Mike..❤ I am so truly thankful to hear that. Linda has always been such a generous and kind woman.. I remember this evening and you being there (although I only vaguely remember you filming and didn't really think about it).. Thank you for the news about Linda ❤ and for putting this together and posting this.. Fond memories indeed. ❤
@@richardgleichmann7671 You're welcome. Linda is a wonderful woman and friend whom I continued to visit until my own health issues arose. I usually kept the camcorder in the background out of people's way.
Hello, Mr. Johnson. I found you after listening to Beyonce's new country songs. In my search for black country musicians, I came across your name. Great to see you celebrating birthdays in fine shirts bought back in the 80's. Hope to see you perform soon.
Thank you for the compliment. I started doing country in the mid-1960s and my 1st Nashville session in 1981. I faced many of the resistance, indifference and racism that many black country performers before and after me by mainstream Nashville. I started my own labels in 1987 and since 1981 I've produced 2 45rpms, 11 Cassettes, and 59 CDs. You'll see a good number of them on my RU-vid Channel as well as some of over 150 yodeling songs I've written. For detailed information visit my websites, the links are in the "MORE" section above, in this video.
My wife and I wanted to go to New Orleans to see Grandpa Elliot, but due to serious health issues we never made it and now he's gone. We love listening to videos of Grandpa Elliot.
dont waste time with the cleanin ($10 new products on epson web site). avoid doing the head deep cleaning, by printing a page of the color not printing well. some printers dont have a maintenance counter reset. their maintenance box doesnt have a printer (i.e. et-2760). for those the issue is cumbersome as cleaning will not help clearing the E-11 error. the problem with the counter in the printer for some epson printers is that the manufacturer cannot trust the users to reset when a new box has been installed, so they do not have a menu option to reset the counter (a big liability in case ink overflows). Don;t download 3rd party software to hack the manufacturer software as you open doors for all sorts of possible intended or accidental malware. Don't ever disable malware protection on your devices to make life "EASIER". It may never be so easy after that. You will need to find an authorized repair place near you to get them to use a company provided reset code The process can take 24 hours. They usually charge $35 for this service. They may do additional checks/cleaning while doing that for you. In my case I bought the maintenance kit from epson (with the chip for $10 free ship) so the service place did not charge for it, but if you ask them to replace it too they may charge extra ($20). your future printer with tank should be one that uses the cartridge with a chip as that confirms the real replacement got done and so the printer options would have means to reset the counter. I think I will sell the printer on ebay and buy another one with the reset feature in the future. I will refrain from the head cleaninhg as much as I can, as I did quite a few in the last 14 months of ownership. Regular use should unclog any minor dry ink from low use. if anyone needs a good printer repair place to reset the counter that can do this reset in MD (DC area) let me know by reply.
