I figure you would be the best person to ask this. I have an android samsung (new) and bought a scanner that I thought would tether to this phone. Once opened, I found it was made for a home PC. Does anyone sell a cord with ends on it like the charger outlet on the phone?
I have an Excel database with already assigned barcodes to each tool; at the same time, I have all the barcodes printed and attached to each tool, so I can ID it using barcode. The idea is to scan the tool to pull the record for each one and update some of the fields. How can I do that? Thank you

I scan the codes they save on googlesheet app as I would type them... then ..later when I go online ... the googlesheet will update ... I am just terrible at using spreadsheets. I was looking for an alternative and found Sortly Pro. I really, really like it so far. It tracks and creates barcodes and QR codes and I can use the mobile app as a scanner, which is super cool. If someone else hates spreadsheets they should def check it out.

I realised that currently i would have to email the CSV file to myself and look up the barcodes. Is there anyway that the file could be remotely updated on a cloud ? so i would not need to repeatedly send myself an updated CSV file

Is there anyway to constantly scan a bar code and have it add up each item scanned? Say I scan the same bar code 12 times, how can I get the quantity to say 12 without manually putting it in? Is there a way to do that with this app? Every time I scan the same item more than once, it only lists the same item multiple times, it doesn't combine them all together. I am scanning a QR code that contains a ticket number, a product number, a hauler number, and a weight. When I scan it, all 4 QR fields go into one google form field. What am I doing wrong?
Hello, "Google Form Field"? Are you using Scan to Web? Scan to Web does not parse barcodes into multiple fields. Scan to Spreadsheet can parse a barcode into different fields based on a delimiter. The default is a comma but you can change that to a TAB or other character. We recommend the "pipe" | if you want to save values with the comma in them.
I am using scan to web. My google sheet/form has a separate column for "ticket number", Truck Id, Load time, and net weight. The App puts all the data in one field

Tell me more about your question. Are you asking if you can scan once and have it saved into two different spreadsheets? The app cannot do this, you will have to open the spreadsheet for each location or site. Something to consider, the app saves the GPS location of the barcode scan.

Can it store information that is not a barcode? I need to scan pictures of Serial Numbers and Inverter sizes. Does it work for that? Also can it upload to google docs?
Hello, No the app will only collect barcodes and save the text / numbers contained in the barcodes. Pictures are not available. Yes, you can upload the spreadsheet to Google Drive and you can then open as a Doc or a Sheet.
Hello again, I have a small issue. When scanning some products the scanned number will appear with extra letter or number in the excel document. Then I have to delete all extra figures in the end of the numbers in excel. For example, I scan the following number 11255992, it comes like that "112559922" or 11255992$" Any suggestions??

Hello I purchased the app for inventory taking & it works good. There is one thing I want to do which not sure if the app will perform. If I have a list of 100 similar items in excel each with different serial number & I divided the 100 into two different excel lists. Each list has 50 items. Can I use the app to validate which list is the scanned item is from? For example when I scan one item in my stock, it tells me that this item belongs to list 1 or list 2???
Thank you for contacting us. The app can only validate one list. Perhaps combine both spreadsheets into an import, but have one column with a LIST1 or LIST2 next to each value. You have to read the manual for the model of barcode scanner you have. What make and model is it? From the iPhone point of view, iOS thinks you have attached a keyboard and then it hides the onscreen keyboard. So most scanners have a button or use a quick double trigger pull to bring the onscreen keyboard back on. Only your scanner manual will tell you what you need to do to set this feature up.

I tried to set virtual keyboard by ER version and worked for me with barcode in second link.... when I used same process for FZ version it didnt work for me. During scanning Apple IOS Virtual keyboard enable it created diffrent beeps sound. Any advice? Thank you
I am trying to create a home inventory using Google Drive (Forms) When I create a Barcode IK-1A-01. your barcode reader does not recognize it. Almost any other combination works but 2 letters a dash and other characters do not. Am I doing something wrong?

Why do both spreadsheets need to be updated at the same time? Can the second one be updated later? How many rows or barcodes are you scanning? Hello Artur, we replied to your email and have not heard from you. Yes the app can scan QR Codes as well as Data Matrix, PDF 417 2D barcodes. Are you having an issue? Is the barcode you are trying to scan a Data Matrix barcode? If so you'll need to turn that type of barcode on in the Settings. Hello. The camera scanner is as fast as it can focus. You may scan an unlimited number of barcodes and save an unlimited number of rows in a spreadsheets. We do pause the camera after 50 consecutive scans due to performance issues. Just start the scanner again. The camera and iPhone will not be ruined or harmed in anyway by scanning barcodes. The information in the barcode is saved in clear text. This includes web site addresses. The app will not open web site addresses in barcodes, it will just save them into the spreadsheet.

Is there a way to shut off the auto-scan functionality and just manually scan by tapping the screen or something? Where I'm collecting multiple small barcodes that are close together on each item, I find that it double scans the same barcode before I can move on to the next one OR it scans the wrong barcode while I'm trying to navigate the camera to the one I want. A checkbox globally or per template that would let the app ignore consecutive, identical barcodes would be awesome too. Then I might be able to leave it in continuous mode without worrying about dupes.
On the detail screen (not the main list of spreadsheets), you'll need to long press the menu button, back button, or task button to export. The menu is still there. Long press the task switch button. Can I use this to app to count items? Didn't see any demo here. I plan on scanning different unique barcodes approximately about 40-50 and then count how many of each barcodes I have. To illustrate, Barcode 1 I have 20 units, Barcode 2 I have 12, Barcode 3 I have 29. I want it to count and add to the total. So I scan 1 unit of Barcode 1, then I scan 1 of Barcode 3, then I scan 1 of Barcode 3 and I keep going. I want it to 'add' up.
