I have always been a huge Yaz fan. I followed the RedSox every day of 1967 and Yaz’ awesome season. It has always bothered me that his career BA was only .285, 40-60 points below other great hitters and even as much as 73-82 points below Hornsby and Cobb.
A win at last. I didn't realise they dim the lights when we score. I thought my computer screen was on the fritz! Gonna have to order me some merch from the store.
Team very frustrating this year. Great pitching but hit and miss on offense. But goes in the win column. This team is much better than the .500 record shows.
do we need dugie? masa can’t even get into the lineup every day (yes ik he’s hurt rn), i’d rather of had another proven mlb level middle infielder on the roster to start the season
Tanner Houck, Connor Wong, and Cedanne Rafaela are three guys who have really broken out this season. Gives me hope for 2025 and beyond with some new intriguing talent in the system/
It's still early... Fingers crossed on their continued development and success... But I'm withholding judgement until at least August. I've been a fan for 40 years and have seen this many times before, just to be disappointed. Hopefully they work out this time. 🙂
I've been saying it for years. Houck has got the stuff to be a dominant pitcher. Everybody was calling for us to trade him not even a year ago and now look how good he is.
Im a big Vaughn Grissom fan. I pulled a 1 of 1 Vaughn Grissom RC Autograph. Even though I'm a longtime Dodgers fan, I follow Vaughn Grissom closely. He's got major upside as a multi- tool player.
As a short second basemen that grew up in the late 90s and into the 00s - class of 2010 - Pedroia was and is my playing idol. Papi will always be my all time. Nomar was the reason I got into baseball. But Pedey was who I wanted to be.
Not much here, would hardly call these people hall of famers. Good players, yes, but they were not really top stars of MLB even back when they played. I really respect a guy like David Freese of the Cardinals, who turned down induction to that team's HOF, saying he was not worthy of such distinction. He just got hot during a World Series season and got chosen MVP, he knew he wasn't a star player. Twenty years from now, I doubt anyone will be writing articles and books about these Red Sox players like they still do Williams and Yaz. Sorry, just being honest.
Yes, I tend to agree. Good and in some cases very good but Hall of Fame no. Let's not retire any more nos. please. Tired of seeing players wearing 79, 68, 93 and so on..............
Papelbon finished his career with a 2.44 ERA and 368 saves. Pedroia finished with a .299 average with 1800 hits and 140 homers AS A SECOND BASEMAN!!! I think Nixon is a big stretch but Papelbon and Pedroia are no brainers.
@@billb.2673 Todd Jones had 319 saves, mostly with Detroit. He's not on the Tiger wall-of-fame. Willie Hernandez saved many games during his time in Detroit --- was both the MLB Cy Young winner and World Series MVP for Detroit in 1984. He's not on Detroit's wall of fame either. I think some MLB clubs are using this HOF stuff as advertising to sell tickets lately, another avenue for fans --- especially younger ones -- to connect with teams. However, the standards for recognition of best players is falling, unfortunately.
I've always wondered what happend to Billy Rohr. I can hear Ken Coleman like it was yesterday: "Yastrzemki's' back. Way back. And he dives. And makes a TREMENNNNNDOUS catch! Everybody in Yankee Stadium on their feet... "
