My name is Daniel. I'm a commercial driver of 7 years as a RV Transporter who hauls trailers across the country for a living. My income is directly connected to my truck being well maintained.
My desire is to GIVE YOU the many lessons that I have learned along the way.
The way I want to be your HighMileageHelper is by sharing:
1. RV Transport specific information 2. Recommendations for Transporting and your Truck 3. Truck Maintenance/Repair How-To Videos
It would be my privilege to serve you as your HighMileageHelper.
1. After your aquatic video, you could repurpose the water in your hot tub. :) 2. I'm not sure that fire departments have quality standards for their water, other than it needs to be wet. You might want to check into the cleanliness of the water to avoid contracting some sort of health problem. Maybe get some chlorine from a pool company to ensure the safety of the water. 3. You'll have to play, "Anchors Aweigh" or "Victory At Sea" in the background when you do this. LOL
How you removed side black plastic piece I have a screw in from inside the plastic going down into frame There is not even an inch to put screw or ratchet through Im thinking screw should have been from bottom but someone installed it the opposite way ?
1. (Daniel's Dad) My Mom once complimented Daniel for a haircut. Daniel said, "Yeah, my head need to breathe a little." I piped up with, "Then MY head must be hyperventilating," LOL 2. I don't remember the "bowl haircut" thing at all.
I had the same problem. I changed my fuel filters front and rear. I could not prime my front fuel filter. I had lots of pressure and diesel at the drain line on the rear filter. I disconnected my fuel line to the front canister. No fuel was getting there... I pulled off the rear filter and bumped the key. Lots of fuel coming out. I removed the check valve that the rear filter spins on to and removed the ball and spring to disable the check valve. This allowed me to get fuel to my front filter housing and re start my truck so I could tow my trailer back home. I assume the tank fuel pump is not providing enough fuel pressure to overcome the spring pressure of the check valve. My truck starts and runs fine right now without the check valve. However, with lower fuel pressure getting to my high pressure fuel pump I run the risk of burning it out. I am going to replace my in-tank fuel pump and reassemble my check valve as soon as the tank is empty.
Might be a shot in the dark to ask this but need to ask maybe someone knows got a 06 lbz duramax does have tunes for heavy towing put them on about 10 years ago other then that it's all factory meaning every part that on it it came with from the factory other thr tunes brakes a d oil change stuff I have had a loss of power and bad fuel Mileage was only getting 8 lbs of boost under wot found 4 air leaks fixed them now under wot I only get 11 lbs of boost with a Hugh power loss was thinking turbo or fpr or cp3 changed the fpr no difference I have no smoke at all ideas about 4300 to 4500 psi best I can remember it use to idle around 5000 or 5400 best I can remember but I have no codes all 8 injectors are zeroed out all running at 0. Specks are plus to min 4 truck has 841,000 and change factory cp3 and factory turbo if anyone has any idea please let me know truck still starts fine and drives just has a lost of power and milage thanks
This video was really helpful I had the same problem and I did the test to make sure it wasn’t my pump and then next step I replaced this fuel pump regulator and it worked and it also took that check engine light off after 1 hr of regulator being replaced !! But again thank you for this video it saved me a lot of money !!
Maybe you can help me. Truck runs and idles fine. I got a P0087 alarm. Randomly comes on. I replaced the lift pump my next option is this. Do you think this may be my problem? It only seems to happen when pulling 10k fifth wheel at grades. No power loss that I notice.
I like the insight man. Definitely is a better option on high mileage LLY to replace a fpr sensor first before taking out a whole cp3. Saves some time for me. And money. I’m getting circuits too high (P0193) I’ve heard in other videos the pintle mechanism on the end of the sensor can be sometimes stuck like it’s all the way open delivering too much fuel or not enough and causing pressure because it things it’s getting too much fuel. Definitely will go this route first.
Men don't care about wearing similar clothing the way women do. If all the women had worn the same dress, there would have been a new herd of cows had by them. LOL
Those rings are called Hog Rings / upholstery rings. Tractor supply carries them and the pliers to install them. I also got a new seat cover on eBay for 25 bucks and it worked great and matches well.
My problem is currently the engine won't start when hot. It will fire if given a small shot of starting fluid. Starts good cold. 2 new batteries. 6 brand new bosch injectors. Fuel pressure when cranking a hot engine is around 1900 psi. Which i think is way low. Should be 5000 psi? Any ideas?
Thank you for a great video, I appreciate the information. I’ll be serving my diff in my 2017 ram 3500 this weekend. Once again thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge!
1. Mr. Ryder's PTSD = Post Traumatic Storm Disorder. LOL 2. In a free market, there is no such thing as either side getting ripped off (unless there is some hidden defect known by the seller not revealed to the buyer). Neither side is forced into an agreement. The agreed price is the value, by definition.
