Mine would miss and have a dead pedal issue when cold. I replaced the FCA (the fuel control actuator you point to) and my issues went away. I had a lot of DEF related codes come up too during that time. Thanks brother appreciate your videos!

Same issue. Replaced the FCA and it def bought me some time. Maybe a year or two. But just learned today my pump finally completely died. Lol. All you can do it laugh. Cause if not I'll cry!

Thanks for explaining this I have had an issue twice in the last year after starting the truck and driving off putting the pedal to the floor I got no power. I shut off the truck and started it again and it drove just fine. If it happens more often I know where to look thanks for this video it's very helpful.

I like the insight man. Definitely is a better option on high mileage LLY to replace a fpr sensor first before taking out a whole cp3. Saves some time for me. And money. I’m getting circuits too high (P0193) I’ve heard in other videos the pintle mechanism on the end of the sensor can be sometimes stuck like it’s all the way open delivering too much fuel or not enough and causing pressure because it things it’s getting too much fuel. Definitely will go this route first.

The problem with Ram they have a shity fuel pump to send to the Cp3 that’s why it’s nice to get a airdog or a Fass to get enough fuel to your fuel injection pump

My 03 5.9l cp3 pump just failed. Exact same syptoms you went through. It was at idle 10k psi but suddenly dropped to 6000 then 5000 then no more staring

My truck CP3 pump not getting fuel and I did open up fuel filter and found it is half empty. My truck doesn't have any other lift/supply pump anywhere including fuel tank. Do you think it also can be the bad FCA sensor? Thanks in advance for your input!

My problem is currently the engine won't start when hot. It will fire if given a small shot of starting fluid. Starts good cold. 2 new batteries. 6 brand new bosch injectors. Fuel pressure when cranking a hot engine is around 1900 psi. Which i think is way low. Should be 5000 psi? Any ideas?

My truck starts fine, but after driving it get hot then won’t restart until it cools down, i was told it’s called a hot start, I get no codes, have really notice any power loss, is there a way of testing cp3, to figure out if it’s good or bad

I have a injection pump tdi 1.9 golf 4 I HAVE PROBLEM now acelerator pedal position sensor implausible signal and needle lift sensor implausible signal (code) Issue i have I push acelerator pedal and not response most of time And gets rpm itself 10+rpm And stays like that Can u tell me its has to do with my injection pump or not ?

That is not a sensor you were pointing at,,,,it doesn’t monitor anything, it is an active device, it’s called the “fuel control actuator”. It modulates the amount of fuel your injection pump gets. It’s actually an electrically controlled solenoid.

Recently found that sand was able to get under the o ring on my low pressure pump and into the tank which clogged my LP pump. While changing the LP i found a lot of metal shavings, not little specs but full blown shavings. Some where 2-3 inches long which lead me to the cp3 because it wasnt getting the fuel it needed to stat lubricated correctly. Looking back i had some issues with getting hot. Not overheating but hotter than i cared to be. Ill be changing the cp3 soon. Would you do the injectors as well. I dont want to grenade another 14 6.7 with less than 200,00. Cost me $14,000 to rebuild. Thats a Story for another day but i dont want to do injectors if its not needed. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2014 Ram 3500 dulley 6.7 diesel, 630,000 transport miles. Starts up not immediately, but runs like a raped ape. Lots of tyranny fluid,Howse has been my fuel lube. Sticking with Power SERVICE lately. Other than friek problem engine cutting out trukk is good.

I know this videos old but I’m hoping someone can still help me out. I have an 04 ram 2500 was driving down the highway at about 70mph and noticed power loss and rough idle pulled of the road truck was running but rough cut it off turned it back on to pull off a bridge and notice just a little white smoke from tail pipe. Cut it off again tow truck comes we start it up pull it on the back again very small amount of white smoke. Still starting fine and driving but rough. Get it back home pull it off the tow truck go to throw it in park and it dies and will no longer start. Cranks over and sounds like it wants to start but doesn’t quite get there. I replaced fuel filter and water separator, checked fuel pump it’s at 30psi at the pump cracked the fuel lines at the head and watched to see that it getting fuel to the head, put a fuel pressure relief block in still nothing. Also tried the unplugging FCA and didn’t change anything. I’m at a loss here. Truck is not throwing any codes either. So I’m thinking maybe injectors, or CP3 possibly? Idk anything about diesel engines really so if anyone can help get me in the right direction I’d appreciate it

Hi, I have a 97 dodge 12 valve Cummins with 170,000 miles. It’s my show truck so I only drive it a hand full of times in a year. I have noticed that it’s taking longer to fire up and started hearing a ticking noise that seems to speed up with the rpm’s. I have good oil pressure and full of oil. Well today July 18 2023 I started it up to try and listen where the ticking is coming from and noticed just a cloud of white smoke started bellowing out the exhaust and it was idling weird as well. What do you think it could be? I have a short vid of what it is doing if that would help?

I have a 2020 that has had the CP4 to CP3 recall done a year and half ago. I seems to run fine but has a fairly loud whistle or whine that can be heard while driving with the windows down. Very noticeable from idle to 1500 RPM. Have you ever experienced this and what do you think is wrong with it?

Its going to be your intake manifold gasket I Had the same issue on my 2020 dodge ram . If you are going to replace it might as well do the turbo gasket too since your already there .

i have 16' gmc sierra duramax lml 6.6l on the screen it has check engine and power reduced it has a code P00C9 fuel pressure regulator high control circuit low voltage, the power is perfect and it walks perfect too i changed the 2 batteries and the filters are changed frequently what do you think, thank you

I took my 2010 6.7 DODGE DIESEL truck in for a simple service. My check engine light came on 10 miles before i got there and i had put a lucas fuel cleaner in when last fueled. I had ZERO problems. The code said low pressure rail and the shop who was supposed to do routine service maintenance told me my fuel filter was full. (Duh! It was time to change and i just ran a cleaner). Anyway, he immediately said i needed new CP3 pump without further test. Again, i had NO PROBLEMS other than light 10 miles prior to pulling in after fuel cleaner on tank prior at fill up) ***IS THIS NORMAL PROCEDURE?? *** He replaced my CP3 pump charged me $4,750 for service and CP3 of which i paid. Then, when starting truck while still in bay of garage, he claimed it was defective since when starting afterwards that it sounded like locked up compression and broke loose into a loud chattering, knocking noise. Next day, he claimed i suddenly had a hole in my radiator and he had to replace it. (Although i had ZERO LEAKS AND TRUCK TEMPERATURE WAS PERFECT WHEN I ARRIVED AT SHOP) **IS THIS NORMAL?? My gages were all great when i arrived and truck was purring like a kitten. I have video where technicians said i have no engine problems when scanning truck when i arrived with light on)))**** After being told about radiator day after when putting 2nd Cp3 pump on, i was told it didn't fix noise that started after the 1st one was defective but now, i have several broken teeth on the gears to oil pressure pump and cam and i needed to pay to have motor replaced. ***((((after taking a video of those broken teeth and posting on social media, it was pointed out to me that there was a a washer from the CP3 lying directly below the now broken teeth) The mechanic who insisted all of these things needing replaced from my coming in for simple service and now needing a complete motor as my truck is nolonger driveable was due to my truck having 300k miles and coincidentally it decided to fall apart at that moment and i had to pay him to fix. ????? Well, after i showed him the video, he admitted fault and agreed to fix like it was when i arrived. However, now he denies everything and is holding my truck ransom for a letter stating i would not sue him for damages when my insurance company tried having it towed to have fixed after i filed vandalism report and made claim with my insurance. I dont owe them anything! Now he's holding my truck ransom for me to promise not to sue him for what he admitted doing after i had evidence. The damages done to truck, now he claims i put washer in it but thats impossible. I wouldn't cause myself 2months of loss wages and cost of replacing my truck to sit on couch not able to feed my family when only needing a simple service. How can i prove his negligence from a mechanical professional statement??? Can you help?

I have shop trying to tell me my cp3 died at 130k miles mean while my injectors are failing and returning to much feel after they changed the cp3. Feeling a bit swindled😂 not sure how you could possibly gauge a bad cp3 if the i injectors are failling

Always replace all 6 at once unless I just can’t afford it you’ll end up changing all 6 over time but in a straight six it’s less of a hassle to change em compared to their counterparts gm ford

You ever figure this out? I got a p0148 fuel delivery code. I’ll be at 6-7k at idle then when around 70mph I will be at like 16k then it will drop down to like 14k when I put more acceleration down then slowly climb back up!

What did you find out? I occasionally have a low fuel rail pressure code at start up but not while pulling. Then it just stop running and won’t start

@@Cole-nl4sj I changed the cp3 and the truck came to life ! I feel the cp3 was the cause of so many related issues with my truck . It runs better starts better . Gas way more power than before . It was gutless . Dont cheap out in one . First cheaper one I got was a pile of junk . Went with bocsh

I've been seeing injectors can let cause low pressure as well by letting to much return fuel back. I'm trying to figure out how to test them now

Car 4 goes out the 3 don't because they let 20 percent fuel flow, for lubrication

Can you identify a bad cp3 if your injectors are bad? Or do injectors need to be fixed first before you can uncover if cp3 is bad

I would for sure measure injector return flow as a first step. The required fitting is inexpensive. If the injectors are bleeding excessive fuel into the return, it can cause long crank times, and rail pressure below what the ECM is commanding.

@JeffinTD Wow, thanks brother, I do have long cranker times for 630,000 miles .Shore do appreciate ya I 'll look into thee injectors after I figure my engine cutting out problem. I just did A FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR Friday Aug. 18th . EVERY OTHER sensors been done under the hood as well iat, mass air, cam, crankshaft, etc. , wired issue I have been working on it 6 months it'll cut an die any time it gets full operating temp and I run it in hot weather 2-4, maybe even 8 hours.

I'm going to replace the pump but I only get the low pressure in the fuel rail at 60 miles an hour I could drive it all day long and nothing but as soon as I hit those higher speeds

Oh my shits deleted and air intake horn removing horn to access the rail plug on the front end of rail can't remember if I had to take out a fuel line ? Nobody could tell me anything about it ... found a forum for Cummins 6.7 and lot of guys just replaced the plug.

That’s Not meant to be a plug!!!!! It’s a HPRV meaning High Pressure Relief Valve……AKA your pressure Fuse…… If you put in a PPE or any other “plug”….. you might as well replace all your electrical fuses with pieces of rebar!!!!! Same EXACT result!!!!! The HPRV has a purpose, you should replace it with a factory correct one then correct your actual problem…they become weak if they have to open too many times(just like a weak circuit breaker!!)… If you use the “plug” your injectors become your new fuse!!! Buyer beware!!!!!

My lbz just started loosing prime cant find the problem anywhere replaced the fuel filter with housing the sensor on the filter is not leaking. Replaced both lines going to the fuel filter housing. Cant see any leaks anywhere from the tank all the way to the fuel injectors its driving me nuts

Is it making oil by chance? It could be a cracked injector or oring causing fuel system to bleed back into tank and loosing prime if you don't see any external leak... I'm not sure if a duramax has connector tubes in the heads like a cummins does to suggest a loose one.

That's not a sensor that's called an mprop by Bosch refuel rail pressure regulator or fuel pressure control valve by Cummins it it's very different than a sensor

Can a bad cp3 cause a fuel nock ? Ive had a low fuel rail pressure code pop up a few times and drove it a few hours the other day pulled over to a ruff idol now today I get on it on the highway and pull off to a bad fuel nock

The knock is likely a bad injector. If not addressed promptly it can damage piston, rings and cylinder.
