It has nothing to do with it, but Love Never Dies is an insult to the work of the "Phantom of the Opera", it breaks its ending, its characters are unrecognizable, there is a plot that has nothing to do with what was established in its predecessor, etc. I can only praise its songs.
Cats is... LCD.... Simply a crime against humanity. As for the Phantom of the Opera, I love it, it's just amazing.Although the one they showed is based on the movie, while the original was much darker (to say the least).
(2:34) That's one of my favorite moments too!! Granted, I've never seen the stage show, but I have listened to some songs from the official album, and I'd totally recommend listening to its version of 'Bells Of Notre Dame'!! (I'm pretty sure they hired a church choir for the songs in it!)

Ok so Jeremy Jordan will beat Christian Bale singing *any* day…however, I take objection to *where* they placed Santa Fe in the musical…and really a whole lot of things that they changed. Movie was better.
Love the Sierra and Ramin representation ever since I saw phantom for the first time 8 years ago I have been obsessed. My personal theatre claim to fame is that I have met both of them! Met Sierra in 2019 when she was in Ever After in Atlanta (saw her again in 2023 in The Goodbye Girl I was front row and legit 3 feet away from her the whole time), then met Ramin at the stagedoor of Funny Girl when Julie Benko was on so the stagedoor wasn't crowded with people trying to meet Lea Michelle lol.
My thoughts watching Cabaret: Just seeing Emma Stones name, I knew she could play Sally, she’s got the talent, but I wasn’t sure if she could sing. In all honesty, she was really good. I didn’t know about he last note, she wavered and was a bit off key, but I’d imagine (or like to imagine) that was a choice to put more emotion into the song. Anything’s better than screaming it at us. I feel bad, I’m sure that actress is great, I’m going to search up Mein Herr or Maybe This Time to hear her actually singing. It’s a lot of emotion and really fits the feeling of the song and this musical in general, it just wasn’t the nicest to listen to. Nothing can compare to Liza Minnelli
i loved how 2015 was more acoustic and less synth i also like the 2015 cast better (and yes, i do prefer will connolly over will roland) but these are just my opinions 💗
Reminds me of when Broadway stars guest stared on Glee and immediately you could tell one was world class, a master of inflection, and the other was loud. Finding out later that the loud one was a world class diva was ironic.
I think Nick Jonas is an amazing singer and actor but compared to all of these professional opera singers he’s sharing the stage with, it just doesn’t fit.
The broadway actors are so obviously much more comfortable on the stage, which opens up room for big, gut wrenching performances. They are a part of the stage. They don’t waste an inch of it. Even when standing in place. In contrast, these other guys are good but are clearly underutilizing the tool that is the stage. And that reduction in stage presence lessens their performance somewhat. And my friends wonder why I love broadway ❤❤
the one day more gave me actual chills i wish i could've been there to see it in person. but I do know hearing the ex-wives intro in person is ABSOLUTELY chilling
Jordan Fisher has been in so many musicals, I remember being shocked when I first found out. Also no Nicole Scherzinger here? I feel like she would count right?
Listening to both Waving Through A Window makes me realize how odd the movie sounds. It's not just that the vocals aren't as good, but the background noise is really distracting. The same kind of applies to Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. It's very difficult to top Sierra Boggess, but the vocals just aren't strong. I also don't understand why they tried to add a weird back beat to literally every song in the Cats movie. It's not the worst part of the film, but it's so odd, especially compared to the musical version, which honestly slaps. And Gerard Butler is awful. He can't sing in this style and it is painfully evident, especially when he's compared to the incredible Ramin Karimloo.
Its not possible to answer one oe the other in every situation. Theres times where the stage performance is much better than the film, however depending on the cast, the movie version is better.
Gaten Matarazzo doesn't count at all as a Celebrity stunt casting. He has been working on Broadway since he was like 9 years old. He got his start on Broadway and became a TV actor later.
I much prefer to Tony version of World Turned Upside Down rather than the Proshot. The lack of guns, the protest of the previous night's killings... Chills.
