Hope you had a good time away, well done to Miranda for helping with the pots..👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I looove Lilah's hair... You didn't say " my name is Krystal". ☺️...🐮🐮🐮
I was so excited when Miranda wanted to help do that!! Haha, she did such a great job. 🥳 Thank you! Lilah's hair is getting so long and if we don't put it up it covers her sweet face. 😊 I usually say our names and a quick bit about us because we're such a small channel, and we often get new viewers. But I thought I would switch it up a bit. ❤️ Thanks Manda! 🤗
What do you do with all of your oregano? Do you preserve it? Do you use it fresh? I have a pretty wild plant that I did not anticipate getting that big!
I was sooo worried about your kiwi and then,POW there they were. Ha ha ha. The chickens with the caterpillar. In comes the man and eat it all up..🤣😂🤣😂 Lovely harvest, I picked 2, yes 2 tomatoes 😊🐮🐮🐮
It was an excellent display of my over the top panic about losing something and then immediately finding it. 😆 I've done the same thing with my phone, my keys and my sunglasses. The chickens love the garden pests, those hornworms are so gross and they will destroy a tomato plant very quickly. We have a couple blushing tomatoes that I might be able to pick in the next couple of days! I'm so excited. Thanks Manda! 🤗❤️

Haha, only 4 hens actively give us eggs still, so we get between 2-3 eggs a day right now. But in a couple months our 4 pullets will start laying too! 😊 Thanks for being here! 💛💚
😆 Especially as the summer progresses. I'm starting to see very large creepy spiders, and there's a snake in the green house which is makes things thrilling! 🫣👻
Thanks for your enthusiasm Angela, and for watching my old video. As long as they have a couple months to cure in dry place (not 2 days) it's okay to rinse them. I don't rinse them anymore, but either way is okay as long as they are given the proper conditions to dry. I am still growing garlic from this same garlic that was once rinsed after being harvested, and it's all okay! 😁
Great question! No I don't put the weeds in the garden compost. I don't like the idea of throwing additional weed seeds, and insect eggs back into the compost for the garden, so I try to avoid it. If it's mostly grassy stuff it gets thrown to the chickens to scratch through, if it's other things like tomato cuttings and stuff that doesn't go to the chickens then it gets thrown behind our house in an area that we eventually want to bring in clay/topsoil to raise it up to increase some yard space back there. 😁
Thank you! The garlic and small onions are curing right now, the squash can hang out on the counter or in the fridge, beans get washed and in the fridge until we eat or freeze them, lettuce gets washed and in the fridge unless eaten right away, same with carrots... either eaten or frozen. Cucumbers get put in the fridge for fresh eating or until I can make pickles. 😊

Sorry about that. The deer got to our fruit trees that had no fencing. But the deer fencing around the vegetable garden has prevented them from getting in there. I think we got it from Lowes a few years back and it's worked out well!

Nooooooo, I just wrote a longish comment and the whole lot has disappeared 😡 That will give me an excuse to watch this video again 😂😂😂 I'll be back...❤️❤️❤️
Awww no, that's irritating. You don't need to watch it again. 😆 Our Abe Lincoln tomato plant has flowers, and I am propagating a sucker from that plant. I think I have another one in the garden somewhere but I keep forgetting to look. Thanks Manda! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Something keeps eating the male flowers of our zucchini! It even chewed through tulle. I am growing them in 32 inch raised metal Birdies beds and they're still somehow getting in. I'm bamboozled. But I LOVE seeing your garden and harvests 😍🥰
Thanks so much! My thought would be squash bugs, but if it ate the tulle... maybe a rodent of some sort? That's so frustrating. I hope you're able to get some zucchini!!
Merlin is everywhere, hahaha. Ever since he saw me digging to transplant peppers he now digs in the garden. 🫣😆 We had a great time, thank you Manda! Also I checked the Abe Lincoln plant and it does have flowers. I show it in my next video! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Only 4 of our hens lay eggs regularly. The 2 Lavenders don't lay often anymore (one was sick, and the other has never laid normal eggs). We also have 4 pullets that are almost 4 months old. They'll start laying in a few months.
@@dinsdalemontypiranha4349 Oh horses, I automatically thought cattle. Horses are so rewarding though. We had Quarter Horses growing up, it was the best.
So jealous of the squash and beans. My plants are just so small still. I don’t know what’s going on. Seems like it’s going to be a crappy garden year for me unless stuff turns around soon. Fun fact, I have a 12 ft raised bed and half of it is planted with Dollar Tree Ky Wonder Pole beans and the other half is the same kind but Ferry Morris. The Ferry Morris vines are growing insane compared to the Dollar Tree. Kinda makes me reconsider using DT seeds in the future. Maybe they were old, I don’t remember. Your garden looks so good! I hope you guys had a good trip!
Maybe a fertilizer boost for the plants that seem stunted a bit. My pole beans just started producing. Depending on the variety, the Dollar Tree seeds can disappoint. I've had that happen before. I've also had it happen with other brands several times. A 12ft raised bed is awesome, have you thought about starting bushing beans in there, or maybe something else if those seeds aren't doing much for you? That's so much space and there's a lot of grow season left, especially in KY. Thank you so much! 😊
It is helpful to see you harvested some potatoes. I dug some of mine but wasn't sure if it was too early. I'm also CT zone 6b. AND I'm definitely gonna do bush beans next year cause I dont have any beans yet but all mine are pole.
I did harvest potatoes that I started in February-April. They were mostly small but are done growing when the foliage on top dies back. You still can grow bush beans all summer, I am going to be sowing more this week. They don't produce as much as pole beans, so they need to be succession planted. Thanks for being here! 💛💚
So far I really like them! I got 4 of them at Dollar Tree. I can't use them for wild blueberries bc the berries are small and fit through the openings of the basket inside the container. But overall I like them! 😊
