I’m So Glad I Got To Experience Arena And Got Level 20, It’s Sad To See Arena Go Because I Was One Of The People That Really Enjoyed Playing It Every Now And Then, Arena Will Never Be Forgotten 🫡
Arena was actually fun. People just didn't try it in time, because PvP is quite boring and trashy on normal servers. I didn't try untill it was annouced to be removed and during farimg LSD I had very good time and met some of cooler players.
No updates -> no one plays it. same thing applies to hourglass, only reason that's still around is because queues are faster since it's 1v1 and it's in adventure so no extra costs for external servers come up.
there is one single reason arena failed. that reason is called rare. imagine just stamping your entire competitive community into the ground like it never existed instead of fixing the actual issues. like implementing an anticheat, a real elo and report system and other things. an all too common trait with rare. i will never understand how they managed to navigate to the exactly right track just then to completely abandon it. i am very much convinced the game would be in a healthier state today if only they had chosen otherwise. do i think competitive sea of thieves would have ever attracted an amount of viewers like counter strike or valorant does? no. would it have managed to establish itself as a smaller esport if rare managed to take care of it like an esport should be taken care of? i absolutely think so. the absolute majority of sea of thieves streamers are pvp oriented. not solely, but mostly. that's the sea of thieves content people watch on twitch. and hourglass just doesn't hold a candle to it. it just doesn't have that same vibe, function, setup, setting, excitement, competitiveness, honor and glory. it's now just some random option in adventure. nobody will ever have that goal of "man, i want to play this on a stage one day". but no point in the ol "if only...". that ship has sailed.
They should scrap hg and gave arena the update hé deserved because after the killed of de Marco they should made hg back in to arena. Reaper vs athena big war and the benefit of getting better in pvp and cannons and bring that 2 adventure to give the expierenced players more good enemy to play against
So sad arena is gone the only place where cheating and running whas not a thing Just sweats alot of good people maybe the best players in the whole game lost for ever never to be found again ez 😢
I was still somewhat active in SoT when the arena 2.0 update launched. The thing I really don't understand about Rare is why they always seems so hell-bent on removing things from the game. What I mean is them replacing the old arena mode with the new one instead of having both coexist in some way, like randomizing which one you get. All things considered the arena held out pretty well with it only having 2 options for crew size and only ever one mode.
NAL flex here. 1. Lobby waiting times 2. no voice chat 3. You can PVE to become and LSD because of the chest 4. No ranked matchmaking so new people will never touch the mode after playing once. 5. Achievements and commendations were made for experienced players 6. The gameplay overall. As I said that the chest was bad but the maps weren’t that good either. I think they were too big for combat. 7. TDM. I was a tdmer myself and they should’ve made a TDM gamemode instead of having people TDM in arena. 8. It didn’t feel rewarding enough. If we look at it from a regular players perspective where you’re not going after a commendation but just playing the game, we quickly realize that playing a game every now and then didn’t give you anything. You needed to really grind if you wanted anything out of the game mode.
I really miss arena, it was the first thing I did when me and my little brother first joined the seas in the second anniversary update. I loved it and only got into adventure about two weeks afterwords. To be honest if they had to get rid of arena just get rid of the Galleon mode. That has been dead for the longest time. I only did sloops after the first three weeks of playing. Keep the sloop mode at least :( I really miss it and season 8 is kinda like it but I still miss it
All of these past videos hinting at skeleton/ghost curses, pvp updates, what’s below the reaper hideout, etc etc. are all coming up in my recommended since season 8 dropped
I'm low level and I tried to do this I spent all my gold on it then immediately got attacked by a galleon before I even stepped off the outpost I spawned on. Times like this really make me hate the game
