I agree the prefacelift looks better, the facelift suits the Focus more so than the Fiesta But at least picking a prefacelift makes even more sense financially too 👍🏼 Thanks for watching Simon
Interesting you say that, I seem to see this response quite often regarding the Mk4 Focus ST - what experiences have you had with it? Thanks for watching Peter
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video! The Mk6 is definietly becoming a modern classic, worth a buy before they get unattainable in the future!
Thank you for watching! I've done some content already with the latest generation Focus ST even a twin test with a ST and i30N together on our joint channel @ThoseTwoCarGuys 💪🏽
@@PocketRockets thanks for your reply I actually watched all your vids on Focus ST, but the new "Track Pack" on the latest ST is a massive upgrade that will completely change how the car drives. I highly recommend you check it out..
Just upgraded to a mk8.5 ST 3door model in race red with all options, after having my white mk7.5 ST215 for 7 years. I miss the mk7.5 a lot after driving for so long, but love everything about the 8.5 it’s been fantastic so far. The seats and the exhaust sound are definitely my favourite changes, along with the modern interior. I’ll give it another few months then go for the mountune m235 after the first service.
I think this comment best sums up what I'm describing in the video Both cars have their strengths and weaknesses. Those looking for a more comfortable car tend to favour the MK8, often overlooking the good aspects of the Mk7.5, but hey everyone's opinions are different (which is fine) Congrats on the purchase, Steve! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
You have to hope they develop slightly more powerful versions of thevengine, the interior is a bit of an upgrade and they have thrown a bit of equipment and tech at it to also comply eith new regs. Good news driving as per the old model will involve keeping momentum going through the bends we like our SZL quite a lot.
Hey Anthony, thanks for stopping by to watch and share your thoughts on the video & the Swift I can't see Suzuki producing any other variants of engine choice - as mentioned in other comment thread, I'm surprised to see Suzuki are still making the Swift with the way the car industry is crazily killing of the small car (thought we was all meant to be more environmental aware) But I'm hoping we see a Swift Sport arrive as the platform is great, especially the value for money too As I said in the video, the car is more of freshen up from the previous generation rather than a full redesign (again, the killing off of small cars) so it's the case of would you rather Suzuki kill the Swift off or continue to produce a small sporty car attainable for a larger mass of people? Again, thanks for watching and getting involved in the comments section 😀 👍🏼 All the best
Great vid man but here are my thoughts. I have the previous model SZ5 Mild Hybrid with 1.0L 3 cyl Boosterjet Engine which has 109bhp. Got to say very underwhelmed by the new model, it just looks lie a facelift of my car. Slightly different at the front, and the tail lamps slightly different as well. Interior is almost identical apart from the larger infotainment screen. Overall the car is not that much different. The main disappointment is the engine only delivering a measly 81bhp, don't get me wrong I love my Swift, but to release a new model almost identical, with a lesser powered engine that is so much slower is a backwards step by Suzuki. BTW having now had a test drive in the new model a few weeks back I can confirm it is like a snail on valium compared to The 1.0 SZ5 Boosterjet Engine, I was actually shocked at how much slower it was. Again I absolutely love my current Swift as it has everything, but current owners will be massively put off by a ridiculous loss in performance of a so called new model, and many like myself will not purchase this 'clone' of the previous model with a woefully underpowered engine.
Hey Killian, thanks for stopping by the channel and watching! I understand your points, and I agree. I didn't feel like I was truly experiencing a new Swift, mainly because the car itself hasn't changed much apart from the looks and engine platform. The rest of the car really follows its predecessor's design. I haven't driven a 1.0 Boosterjet in a while (probably about 3-4 years ago), so I can't recall the engine characteristics for a direct comparison. On paper, it does seem like a step backwards. However, to Suzuki's credit, they continue to support (in my opinion) a very important automotive segment (small cars) while many manufacturers are going "green" by producing oversized, overpriced, and short-ranged vehicles. For existing owners of the previous Swift, I'd suggest holding onto their current car unless they need an upgrade and want to stay within the Swift platform. Again, appreciate your time commenting! All the best
I bought this 20years, months ago in white colour and still not driving it yet but before I own MK7.5 Special edition and that Akrapovic exhaust when upshifting sounds much better , I think this petrol particular filter on 20years make this sound ugly
I’ve owned ST 7.5,8 and 8.5. The 8 and 8.5 are hugely better than the 7.5 in every way-performance, comfort, economy etc. Used them all for several years as daily drivers. Massively disappointed that Ford discontinued the ST Fiesta when they just perfected it. Cheers!
I am looking at changing my a5 coupe to the following cars a 2023 Audi s5 vorsprung coupe or go with my first BMW a M240i with all the options which one would you go for
Well I now have a M140i, so I'd probably edge more towards a M240i, a lot of car for the money along with a great platform for tuning and modifying with aftermarket parts Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
Sorry, I drive one and I would not call it an S model. No emotions and the diesel sound remind me of any other diesel car, and I just don’t like the diesel sound. S5 diesel is only for Europe, outside the Europe you can buy with petrol engine 👍
Fair enough, that's your view! A diesel no matter characteristics, it won't be as smooth as an equivalent petrol engine plus Audi did do a petrol version of the S5 in Europe (especially in the UK) Thanks for watching
I did indeed, mainly due to market being strong during "WokeDown" plus my PCP was up and was forced with mileage charges so managed to escape with positive equity too but then went mad and bought a M140i instead over a year ago now 🤣👍🏼 In hindsight, I prefer the 335d just a better all rounder apart from the missing sound/charcater I get from the 140 I'd personally still have a 335d over the Audi, more so the G80 340d (if budget allows) for you Thanks for watching
Yes it will 👍🏼 if the car folds them when you click a button, there will be a coding element to do it from the key Remember to use my link in the description to get a discount and help my channel also Thanks for watching
Love the same repetitive comment that didn't need to made, the video format of eating known as Mukbang is literally one of the biggest trends on RU-vid Off you pop
That's the worst tester I have ever seen on YT ! Mostly negative on this nice car. And NO I have not enjoy your video and next time, put on some decent cloth's. You look like a wanderer.
Driven both a puma and a kuga and I can say that, at least for me, the agility of the puma sets it apart from the kuga and the added boot space and bigger cockpit space set it apart from the fiesta. Also didn't mind the steering rack, a heavier feeling would've been nice but never had an issue with feel or precision
No idea, can't recall them having an Eco driving mode, it's more a menu to monitor how you drive Just toggle through your menu using the steering wheel controls to change the menu you want to view
As all I can say is Suzukis are known for their excellent reliability, so as long as you're buying a looked after example (full service history etc) it'll do the job of A to B absolutely fine Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
Had the st150 and now have the st180. The 150 put a smile on my face each and every time I drove it. The 180, I've had to bring it up to a stage 2 to make it anywhere near as enjoyable to drive. I'd love another 150
It's a lovely car! I actually keep toying with the idea of having one for the missus (White ST Line) but unfortunately they don't have great towing capacity so not going to happen Thanks for watching and sharing, congrats on the purchase - keep me posted on how you find it 😀
No car is perfect (not even Toyota/Lexus) so why not just keep it? If you still need the same usage, whatever else you replace it with will have issues of its own. Better the devil you know... etc...
I agree no car is perfect, they all have flawes (no matter the age) but I understand what you're saying Problem is I felt it was getting to the point where things were likely to go wrong so didn't want to be stuck with something that doesn't get used loads and not be able to recoup money back
I had one new in year 2000. It was not well built [in Austria] but was a good utility truck. I couldn’t get on with the suspension which, even on a smooth road, kept throwing my head from side to side in a most uncomfortable way. A far as driving it otherwise it was fine. Pulled well and was economical on fuel. Mine was a more basic five seater, no sunroof, good quality cloth seats and grey ‘carbon fibre’ type plastic surrounds to gear lever and matching other trim. These have a rust prone chassis while later ones have better suspension with a monocoque body but generally lack a two speed transfer box.
I agree, in comparison to a Porsche Cayenne or a VW Touraeg at a similar age, the ML isn't up to the task personally I only picked it up due to the rush for a tow vehicle (3500kg capacity) for my race car and the budget was sub £1,000 so didn't have much selection 🙈🤣 I'm surprised with the little rust on mine actually, considering this era of Mercs seemed to have been made out pig iron LOL Thanks for watching. I appreciate the comment 🙏🏼
@PocketRockets ended up in flames and being written off. Had an older e320 cdi before it with a power chip on it. Very fast for a diesel in its time. I recon the 270 would go just as well with one as it's the same engine with one less piston. Recently purchased an old l322 td6. It's a nicer car to be honest. I thought the seating position in the ml was awful but the seats were comfy. L322 seats you can get them just right. Thought saab seats were nice lol
@phillmcaverty It had bad chuffing (pointing to injector seal) so unbolted the engine cover to find probably the worse rocker cover on any ML suffering with Black Death 🙈 Wish I filmed it for this video, but hey ho! It did its job for me towing my race car but I felt it was going to soon turn into a money pit the longer I kept it Now need to find a more modern/reliable tow vehicle now 🙃
