It is a Subaru. It is produced by Subaru Corporation at the Gunma Plant Main Plant address is 1-1, Subaru-cho, Ota-shi, Gunma 373-8555, Japan. I can confirm it is no way a BMW or built in Europe. The project leader was from Toyota, Tetsuya Tada, the developmental prototype was developed by Toyota and they co-developed the new D-4S boxer engine. It would be reasonable to say that this car would never have been developed by Subaru alone without Toyota starting work on this project. It truely did require input from the designers and engineers of both companies Subaru and Toyota. An amazing vehicle. I subscribed! Great video!

Idk if anyone will see this message but just wanna see if I didn't get ripped off from the dealership. Got my 23' GR86 pavement for out the door price $33,918. Arrives on July 17th! I just hope they don't add any random hidden cost on the day of pick up lol. Put up a refundable $500 reserve deposit. Is the OTD $33,918 in northern VA good??

I'd say that's fine, easy way to find out is look for base price sold in your area People in the UK are adding £10k premium onto cars (whether they sell them is a different story) Thanks for watching 👍🏼

@@PocketRockets I spoke to two local dealers, and they said yes but if you want something specifically spec-ed, prepare to wait about four months. Not terrible, I guess.

No, 4 months is nothing these days for a new car 👍🏼 It's a cracking car, I'm sure you won't regret it, but if you can - drive one just to make sure Keep me posted on your progress (whether you order one and when it arrives) always cool to hear when people order cars 😀

What makes the GR Yaris "the bigger brother" of this car?? Totally different cars, totally different concept. You maybe could call the GR Supra mt that, but the Yaris, not so much.

GR Yaris is more powerful, slightly pricier, AWD and has rally pedigree They are both GR products, yes one is a hatch and the other is a coupe The term was used as the day of filming. I drove the Yaris and GR86 back to back, and the Supra wasn't on my mind at that point but yes Supra is the bigger brother (even though the Yaris is still a hatch)

I just don't get this preference of thee Manual Gearbox. I've owned 4 dsg S/RS Audi's it would have been a 5th, but due to an overly long wait l cancelled my Rs3 saloon vorspung...I've settled sadly to driving my wife's Mk 8-5 fiesta ST3 what a horrible little car it is,so uncomfortable on any journey over an hour long,suspension is so unsettling Gearbox not the best either...l was considering the Golf Gti but given its weight and with only 240 bhp it doesn't look that fast on paper

The reference to manual is more the preference of the type of the car its in, for example an Auto box in a GR86 is awful and was awful in the GT86 In a RS3, an Auto I think is better suited to it for many reasons - the performance, build quality, etc Again, you're jumping from an RS3 to a small B segment hot hatch, ride quality alone is miles apart 🙈 If you think that's bad, you should try a Mk7 ST180 lol But yeah, the gearbox choice is suited to the car for me - I drove both new Focus ST with their new Auto box and 6 speed manual - the manual transformed the car compared to the Auto Hope that explains it a bit better Thanks for watching James 👍🏼
