Thanks for the video. The plug-in game thing -- it's a clever way of getting me to look up the "for sale" versions of the patches in this freebie. I tried the vocal patch, which has good sound, but limited functionality. For complete functionality (and an absence of randomly generated scary sounds or bizarre things when you play keys that are out of vocal range) you have to buy the full patch - Realivox BLUE - from Embertone -- at $99 (I think that is a sale price). I don't know about the other patches in this library. I can't get the plugin to work correctly on my Windows 10 - Kontakt 7 running computer, and was lucky to get the vocal patch even partially running. The game part fails completely, and I have to jump it in the Kontakt library to get into the musical stuff. Nice idea, but I very much prefer something that IS EASY, and actually WORKs. I suspect this is an old plug-in and it was not designed for Windows 10 or Kontakt 7. I know I'm supposed to buy stuff, and I often do. But I have a limited budget, so what I spend money on has to be serious and go a long way. I need to take a serious test drive of a plug-in that costs $99 or more. Is that crazy? Trying out a plugin that can only do one thing is like trying out a car that can only go in reverse. Not very realistic. Or like taking the car for a test drive inside the showroom. You get to drive all of 10 feet and that should tell you everything you need to know about the car, right? Also, I HATE video games with passion! Horror based videos games are even worse! I don't need a boogeyman, I have a congressional representative who is terrifying enough! Life itself provides plenty of riddles and challenges, I don't need to download new ones! Want a real challenge, and not a game? Try messing with your iLok account and then fixing it! Now THAT is a REAL challenge.
I may be mistaken as I don't perform live so idk what you're able to do, but as far as exporting, you can select 'Selected Tracks' under 'Rendered Track' and bounce each buss/group at the same time, and for volume if you're going to mix them later when performing then you can select normalize and it will bring them all up to their loudest volumes before clipping.
hi bro, can you send me the dll/vst3 file of the plugin ? the website don't work and i want to try this plugin i love the sound. thanks for ur video 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I know its been a while since the post, but just to let guys know that Plugin Boutique has a killer deal on this in a bundle, called "AIR Legends Pack", which includes DB-33 organ, Vacuum Vintage mono synth and Xpand!2 for just £10 UK so at that price its 3 decent vst instruments for a very low price, as of Feb 2024.
Hello, I am considering buying this table and your video has helped me a lot but could you tell me what is the height of the keyboard tray? my idea is to place the midi keyboard instead of the computer keyboard, thanks.
Bought MINI-MK3 keyboard and it is not working as expected. I press the SHIFT and only 2 orange and 1 green pads light up/ This is not what I saw in the tutorial vid. Cannot change modes with SHIFT. I tried to contact Novation 3 times and they completely ignorred it. No response of any kind. Tried the factory reset, but no luck. Any idea how to reset this keyboard ?bought this keyboard and it is not working asexpected. I press the SHIFT and only 3 orange and one green pads light up/ This is not what I saw in the tutorial vid. I tried to contact Novation 3 times and they completely ignorred. No response of any kind. Ytied the factory reset, but no luck. Any idea how to reset this keyboard ?
@@Gear-Tube thanks so much for saying that! I was actually thinking recently that maybe I should have personal stories less and other kind of content more. This is great feedback for me 😁
Nice review. I picked this up for only $10 from Pluin Boutuque which is fantastic value for this 4 channel synth with very decent sounds. This came with Pro Tools at one stage so not a cheap VST. I wanted a simple rompler type of unit for easily testing melodies etc before swapping out the sounds with better gear, The two big limiting features I have found so far are as follows:- 1 - The 4 parts can only use MIDI channels 1 - 4 which is a shame. It would be easier if they would have supported 16 midi channels then you could have used 4 multiple instances of the VST in my DAW. 2 - The other drawback it seems is the drums. Of all the drum patches I'vve tried so far, none will give me a single GM drum kit split across one sound. It loads for example Kick, Snare, Hats and Toms on each of the 4 channels. But so far apart from this, pleased seeing it's so cheap
hi, love the video!! i have a question, I just recently bought Xpand!2 and one problem that I face is that I couldn't download because it says M1 not supported. is it true that it doesn't work on Mac M1? Thanks
It works on my M1 (Big Sur). I just have to launch Logic using Rosetta mode after installing the plugin. Then I can keep launch it in native mode and the plugin works, Rosetta is just for the 1st time.
Thank you for explaining the process of creating Lofi spooky music, it helps bring inspiration to anyone who wants to create music. Have a spooktacular October 🎃
Hi, is it possible to use Arcane as a Library in Ableton? I'm new to music production and using DAW in general. I've been trying to use this Arcane Library in Ableton, but something always goes wrong. For now as I try to import the instruments in the MIDI track , it says "no decoder was found for the file...". I fear Arcane just isn't compatible with Ableton and I'm just wasting my time...
I just purchased one. I am sure it was a good move, I have been using the top of a combo amp road case to place my Tascam mixer board, mic pre's and IR box. It is too crowded.
I think this is a great tool to have. I got it bundled with my little AKAI controller. The sample library is very cleanly recorded it’s extremely broad in what it covers, it’s compact just 2GB to load it all, there’s even third party patches you can get for it the effects don’t sound horrible and it’s very adjustable and controllable and reliable I found. I think people a) they hate it because it’s 44.1kHz 16 bit samples (and some people seem to think that means LITERALLY the same as 11.025khz 6-bit samples or something) b) it’s no longer developed and the Ux is locked. (Get OBS) c) it’s been sold for $4.99 as a promotion. (So that must “PROVE” it’s terrible!) My experience has been it’s very reliable and offers sophisticated control by MIDI or host automation, and it has a ton of high and low level tweakability and customization. Like anything complex it takes a little study and practice to get the best results from it but I’ve found it works really great and if you were smart enough to get it when it was free or $5 you really were smart IMHO. It’s a powerhouse.
Yeah, I definitely agree with you! It's like the classic saying: "If it sounds good, it is good." Sometimes people are too concerned with cost to trust their own ears.
Hey … thanks for creating this video. I have always been able to find sounds I like in Xpand but I have never looked at the Arp function. I will have to check it out. Also (I am not affiliated with them in any way) Plugin Boutique has a bundle that includes Xpand, an organ, and one other plugin on sale for $10.
Hello I just tried out the embertone specter alto vocal, but it seems if I hold the first note of a phrase slightly longer, it (or she?) starts to go off to a pre-programmed phrase (different for each note), how to I turn off that behavior? It feels very creativity-limiting if I cannot hold the first note slightly longer.
Lower the velocity for your notes. Though, not every note that hits 75% velocity (for example) would guarantee that result. Some notes would have to be played at a lower velocity than other notes in order to not have its preprogrammed phrase, so what I would do is just tweak the velocity for every note and play around with it. If you put a note on its max velocity, it will play its preprogrammed vocals. Not sure exactly what the logic is behind that, but I just found that out as I recently got this plugin. Do play around with its velocity though. Unfortunately, there is no manual for this.
thanks a lot! but if i don't use ableton (actually use it on koala sampler), the knob just have one mode and it send midi cc 21-28, is any way can switch mode in knob(so i can have 16 knob)?
I would say the Launchkey is the definitive choice for Ableton users. The automatic mapping for use in arrangement and session view is the main reason I say that.
