I forgot there are takedowns in this, looks like it might be quite fun to play again after all these years. I've been playing some RR7 today, can't believe the servers are still up
This game is honestly fantastic, it gets a lot of hate from the NFS community, and for lack of progression. But its one of the few open world racers that I actually like, and you can modify the car enough where it doesn't feel like a simcade type of games like Forza Horizon, the racing is actually fun unlike newer NFS games.
I had a dream that you and some other people were in a room in Burnout 3 but you decided you wanted to play Revenge while in the room. So when you started it, it put y'all in Revenge and put me and a new player on a new track in Burnout 3 since we didn't have Revenge. For some reason, this track had a mini map on the bottom-left corner and I saw y'all breezing through the map because y'all were playing Revenge. The other guy that was with me just kinda stayed at the start and I was starting to drive the track but I wasn't going nearly as fast as y'all because I was in Burnout 3, that's when the dream ended.
@@user-sn8zx5mv1x i saw that but my question is if he played online on PS2. As an og too i never saw "Deadly Secret" player on leaderboard or race with him in 2003-2006 era but maybe he has a different id.
@@blacktwister666 I don't know if he did, as I'm unfortunately not an OG myself (I started playing online in 2023 when the revival server went public, I first started playing the game in 2011 when I was 5, so I was too young to even know the game had online.) Even with some features missing on the revival server I'm still having fun, although people don't play that often. Most of the time it's just me playing online by myself.
I played on PS2 from 2004-2005 on B3, and I also played on PS2 Revenge online from 2005-2006. I didn’t go by Rival GT back then. My PS2 tag did have GT on it though.
@@RivalGT Ok thanks for your answer ! Fkn' nostalgia to see some videos of you or Expo still playing at this 2 must have racing games. Don't know if Stellar Entertainment is really working on a B3 remaster but if it's true, it will be a pleasure to race with competitive players like you and kick some ass with Euro Circuit Racer (better than WCR ;) Also i hope they keep elo points for leaderboard. 🙏
You and Ali got Rival playing NFS. The server being down means he can't bop people on Burnout, so he went to NFS since bopping the AI gets boring real quick. How is the AI gonna retire mid-race?
This truly was a game. There are better games in the nfs franchise, but this one seems to have a special charm to it. The game doesn't seem good, and doesn't seem bad either. Its just... *G A M E .* And that's real cool :] Nice video. Would watch again.
I've heard you've been playing on expo's server and you were taking stuff from people's chests and wanted to blow up their bases. I went a bit away from spawn so you don't come in and try to blow up my base.
i cant help it to think that the new gen version doesnt look as insane as the PS2 version, as in it doesnt feel as fast and chaotic but again he is just raicing himself most of the time
Yeah, always been a thing on PS2 and Xbox. EA shut down the servers in 2010 so you can't play online officially anymore, but you can play through revival servers that have been open to the public since 2023. I never played online on the official servers because I was a little kid and didn't know online existed, but I've been playing on this revival server since 2023 and I consider myself to be a good player. The trick to online is learning the traffic pattern and taking good lines. If you're going up against someone who knows the traffic better than you they have the advantage since they can dodge the traffic with ease, and if you're going wide on turns someone will eventually catch up because they're taking the turns more narrow. Also some cars have tech that allow you to drive them better, for example in the USCR if you have the low engine hum you can brake boost to rev the engine and get better top speed.
@@user-sn8zx5mv1x thanks! i played this game at my friend house on the original xbox, also im a speedrunner, im just surprised this game could be played online wow!!
In new version of PCSX2 mipmapping has been moved to the Burnout 3 properties settings, graphics/rendering. Turn mipmapping on, and then off again, otherwise track textures wont load.
good evening great video I love this game I played them on the first original Xbox at the time it's still magnificent I really love this Burnout 3 Takedown I wanted to know I have a question for you these Textures and mods corrections are these for which console versions exactly? and where to install them also placed these mods in the passages these folders in question thank you??
These are for PCSX2 emulator on PC, or aethersx2 emulator on android. And I've only tested for the NTSC version of the game, no clue if they work with other regions.
@@RivalGT ah ok thank you for the information but on the other hand I would like to know all these mod packs Textures corrections should be placed or exactly in the PCSX2 emulator in which folders should all of this be placed because I am a beginner in this area I have the iso of the game can you help me thank you??
@@gandalflegris__lesage7262 First off make sure you are in the nightly QT build of 1.7 PCSX2. In your PCSX2 folder there should be a textures folder, if you dont have one make one. Inside the textures folder you will need to make another folder called SLUS-21050. Inside SLUS-21050 you will place the replacements folder you downloaded from my link. My link comes in rar format so you will need to extract it first.
@@RivalGT ok thank you so I created and put your SLUS-21050 Folder in the Texture Folder inside you had the Cars Tracks Traffic upscale and UI folder, is that correct if I understood correctly? if yes then after the other big packs of your 2nd link we install them or that otherwise?
@@gandalflegris__lesage7262 Yeah the replacements folder has the textures organized with more folders. The second link is for extra colors for all cars, and different boost colors .
You all are keeping this game alive with the online gameplay posts. Thank you for sharing. Need to get into it one of these days. Skillwise, if you guys were a 10, I'd say I was a 4.
You ever play online back when it was originally out? If not, the whole gimmick with online is learning the traffic pattern to not crash as much and driving optimal lines. If you play it enough you eventually memorize the traffic and rarely crash.
Is it possible to change the in-game text? (Air, Drift, Near Miss, etc) I mean, is there a way to modify each letter (Interested in translate to another language every text)
I'm finding some enjoyment in the USCR right now, I found out that the higher pitch engine sound makes you keep top speed like the WCR. So I came up with a strat where you brake boost when you have the lower pitch sound, like after a turn if you have the lower hum you brake boost to spin your tires and get better top speed.
@@user-sn8zx5mv1x The car has terrible handling, has the same weakness as WCR of touching walls, and it can’t keep its speed. It’s a terrible car, it has 0 redeeming qualities.
@@FierceShowoff-Racer All the pros like driving the WCR because it handles easy and keeps top speed with little effort. I'm the only one trying to learn and master the USCR because in my opinion it's more fun than just keeping top speed (and also because I want to be different, I don't want to blend in with everyone else.) In USCR you actually have to rev your engine to keep top speed, the WCR just gives you it. I also noticed you can kinda get better jumps if you boost before the jump, if you boost during the jump you lose your engine rev when you touch the ground (which means you have to brake boost again to rev the engine.)
@@user-sn8zx5mv1x EXACTLY MAN! I'M THE SAME EXACT WAY TOO. I mostly use the lower tier vehicles(Muscle cars and Coupes are my go to)in Takedown to challenge people on B3 Online PS2 and for fun joy riding, cruising around in time attack or race mode.
@@user-sn8zx5mv1x I don't like the idea of using the same vehicle just like everybody else is using, I'd rather have an identity of my own and have an individuality than to be the exact same way when it comes to not using the same car like the rest is doing (WCR or ECR) in Takedown. I have nothing against everyone that uses those two vehicles, I got a huge amount of mad respect for people using those two vehicles to get world records and to actually keep up with the masters / elites / all-rounders / gods players and racers of Burnout 3. They are really killing it man.
I don't know why Criterion never made a GameCube port. Apparently it was because the sparks would look worse, which I don't get because I don't see why you would scrap an entire port for that. If Burnout 3 came to GameCube it would be one of the only games to use online. You would've also been able to play it on Wii and Wii U because Wii has backwards compatibility with GameCube and Wii U has backwards compatibility with Wii and can play GameCube games through homebrew. I think it would've been cool to play Burnout 3 on the Wii U gamepad.
Sadly the project has gone quiet, and the dev has not given any new update for months now. Its not playable at the moment, only Burnout 3 is playable online.
Wins are hard to come by, anything is fair game I think. I was actually going for a clean pass or takedown on drab at the end, but the tuktuk made me change my line, and I ended up killing myself and drab.
I need to get back into playing Burnout competitively, I sucked ass on the races I did yesterday with Shephard and Dried Radish. It's mostly because now I'm more into modding the game so I don't really have time to grind the game anymore. It could also be because I'm trying to take more risks by staying in the oncoming lane more often, so I have to learn the traffic for those sections.
