If there's nothing at 40 $ that can compete, then there is nothing better out there at this price point period. Makes no sense to say there are many better options... but double the price.
The analog pocket isn't to be more like a 3D render, its meant to represent the original gameboy more. It feels a lot like an original gameboy. If you're seeking GBC then that feels different in a number of ways. I still have my GB, GB Pocket and GBC, and they all have a slightly different feel to them, both the shape and the buttons. I personally wouldn't want more than the Analog Pocket if I was going to settle on just one GB like device, but making my own GBC does seem fun. But then I also have all my physical handheld collection still with me, so more often than not I will go back to the originals, regardless of the worse screens.
-Hello, I accidentally skipped over backing up the files from .retroarch -> system and now am having trouble finding and downloading them. I have mostly nintendo consoles on my miyoo mini plus right now, but the current system file is empty and I'm not sure what to do.
Will you review the Odin 2 Mini and compare them to the Odin 2 and other handheld in that size range? I'm especially interested in the Screens and brightness to play outside. Also a Video with Odin 2 vs AYANEO Pocket S would nice
Got the grips you recommended they are very nice. However when I have them attached and try and put the Go in the case if I open it my left stick’s RGB is flashing red. Is this an issue???
Russ I like your videos but please - sometimes I think the voice over is not needed in a specific place - when you talk about the buttons I wish you could just be silent for a moment and let us hear the buttons and how they sound with the clickyness. I want to be able to hear the dpad and buttons and triggers. If not during the video voice over then in another section. You make great reviews and I always grab a snack and drink, but let us hear please the buttons. Please!
I would add to this list (unless I missed you mentioning it), the 3DS is also the best way to play Virtual Boy games. I don't understand why N never did this officially with their online console store. VB Wario Ware feels like it was built to be enjoyed on the 3DS!
I can honestly say I have never seen a first impression video done as well as yours in my life. This was awesome. I hope you do one for the Miyoo Flip when that gets released.
really really tempted to pick this up, the only retro handheld I’ve previously bought though is is the Miyoo Mini Plus and I’m debating if I should just hold out for the Miyoo Flip?
No headphone jack!? WTF!? How can a super powerful gaming device NOT have a headphone jack? Switch sticks? Ugh... This thing is so thin, so compact, it throttles big time! Great review, but not for me given the Odin 2 and everything we know. Basically we're paying extra for a lot of pretty.
I actually think a smaller size to make this more pocketable would have given it a big edge to win over the Odin, even if it was a bit less powerful and it might have helped the price some too. I think I was hoping for something like a Retroid that was joystick focused and premium but more portable than the Odin. Great review, as always!
I don't want to sound ungrateful, the gba sp is my absolute favorite handheld form factor. I've always wanted something like this, a gba sp like device with emulation capabilities. I just hope future iterations add recessed analog stick. Doesn't seem to have a way to emulate C buttons on the 64.
