Race Format wise, yes it's like the Breeders Cup. The Dream Cup/Series brings all the greatest horses from the past from different countries and puts your best horses against them, hence where the Dream name comes from. Unfortunately, a lot of players overlook this due to the fact the horses in GR2004 go by fictional names vs. their real names and likenesses in the Japanese version GR7.
I absolutely love Winning Post on the Sega Saturn and just purchased this one and Winning Post 9 2019. Do they have the auctions in August of foals and yearlings like the Sega Saturn version?
@Freedom for Humanity Yeah, that Turks are of Mongol heritage, and the wolf is a sacred symbol among Tengrist Mongols. Turks where Tengrist Mongols before converting to Islam. Tengrism is the oral faith of Genghis Khan(The Father of all Turks, along with other Mongols). Wolves as a sacred animal in the Tengri faith, are kept as pets by Mongolians, same with Horses, and Golden Eagles(used by mongols for hunting deers, wild goats, and foxes). Genghis Khan, and his Mongol Hordes, used Wolves as war dogs to hunt down villages they pillaged.

Fellow Dream Series winner reporting in. That music is burned on my brain like it was yesterday, this was the best console game of all time in my opinion. I notice you did it with all self trained horses though which is even more amazing, I only did it with standards.

back in 2004 my whole family, literally, my brother, cousins and uncle we all play this game, we all have our own save game slots on 2 memory cards in PS2! until 2010 we are playing this game. considering we also love horse racing in real life, damn this game is one of the best overall for me!! not only as single player but all time!! those OST inrace brings back nostalgic childhood memories!! we're from the Philippines btw. but living in the US now.
