Lol Nobody who expects to hit the ball has quick enough reaction to immediately turn around and hit a drop shot. I assure you this took practice which came from wifing many overheads.
That fact that I cannot even make a record myself how I play it’s sad. Meaning that when I set up everything the app doesn’t recognize my shots. The app thinks I’m the opponent and for some reason it won’t add me in.
Yeah, well it's not perfect software. Though it has gotten much better since this video was recorded. The camera position also isn't optimal to catch that correctly.
I don’t really think this is 4.0 or 4.5 . This is solid 5.0 tennis . At least upper 4.5 . No 4.5 can hit wide slice serve ace like that or wide kick serve consistently.
Thank you! I would confidently say I have the serve of a 4.5/5.0 but the rest of my game lags behind and is more 4.0/4.5. It would be great to actually be rated at 5.0! It's funny that you mention the wide slice ace, I was just playing a very good high school #1 singles and aced him wide like that 3 consecutive times on the deuce side in one game and 7 times total in the match. Typically my more frequent ace is a flat T shot, which is what I started to do after he began standing in the doubles ally and probably had 4 of those. It was a great match but unfortunately I wasn't able to record it! My serve has always been my biggest weapon and is the shot I've spent countless hours in over the years.
Thank you! And yes, I recorded with SwingVision which is only available on Iphones. Had it set up on a tripod but ideally it would be mounted higher up on the fence.

@@acrossthenettennis3043 yeah I’ve seen speeds on other RU-vid videos, and they look pretty inaccurate. But you are right, with updates it could improve!
also, I think the MPH readings for serves are incredibly inconsistent (I love the app, but this one thing still needs to be worked out). There's a vid of Nadal on the Swingvision account -- he hits two serves that look that same but the readings were 30 mph different. I think yours are up in the low 100s if I had guess.
@@MichaelSienkiewicz on their site they talk about this difference. The pro circuits use radar which gives the initial speed off the racket. This app is more of an "average in the air speed" which they admit is about 10-15% lower than the radar speed. But that metric is very recent. The app gets better every update.
Unfortunately you can only do scoring if you have an apple watch where you report the score point by point. This opens up a lot of other stats like break point conversions, total points one and others. The only other way to add scoring would be to edit the exported video in some video editor. Because at the the moment I'm just doing highlight videos spending the extra time to edit the score in isn't a priority. Eventually I plan to get an apple watch and then that will all be done for me.
What aspect of swing vision do you find yourself using the most? I have loved that you can replay the video with the down time removed makes it easy to watch it back.
I feel exactly the same way. I've always wanted to record myself to be able to analyze my strokes. But previously with a gopro it just took so long to watch the whole match or find a specific shot. Cutting the dead time is a huge time saver and makes that so much easier. I also really love that I can select one specific stroke to look at and see every instance of it. It really helps if I want to compare how I was playing early in the match to later.
