Tool reviews, product reviews, product fails, "How To'" videos, home improvement, lots of laundry, and even a little coffee with a side of Rock & Roll. I created this channel to provide helpful information in cases where I had searched for information, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for tuning in and I hope the videos are helpful.
The screens aren’t custom. They’re probably 20 years old and were installed when we got the house. I the windows are by Andersen so the screens likely came with them.
Thank you for showing the temperature at 60F! I like to sleep in a cold room, and it's hard to find a AC unit that goes down to 60 any more. Many only go as low as 62 or even 65.
@@Jasshands1That’s an amazing price for the Elite. You can’t even buy the Scott’s DLX or mini for $50 where I live. Unfortunately, the Elite I got didn’t even last a single season. If I could buy the Elite for $50, I’d salvage the wheels and cables and put them on my DLX. 🤣
@@Jasshands1I don’t think the echo is 5x better. The Echo is less complicated (a single impeller like most spreaders) and more durable, but if you’re handy like me you can keep the Elite going. I really liked using the elite, but I wasn’t about to waste my time fixing a brand new, overpriced spreader. It was also too much spreader for our yard. I could probably get by with a mini or even a hand spreader, but I’ve been using my DLX for over a decade. 😂 I actually ended up repairing my DLX with things I had around the shop.
Unfortunately this machine has a safety feature that drains the tub after 5 minutes of inactivity… you’ve already figured that out. With this machine you’re limited to using the Soak feature. Some folks have said they unplug the machine for an overnight soak, and the machine will resume once plugged back in; however I don’t recommend it. The draining function is to prevent flooding and property damage should something fail. Using the Soak option will allow clothes to soak for roughly an hour.
I think it’s just the machine changing gears or engaging something, but I’ll have to investigate further. Mine does it too. The sound is originating from somewhere under the tub.
To get more water you can use the WaterPlus option a few times. Other than that you’re at the mercy of what the machine thinks is enough water for the load.
Help!!!! Power outage due to storms I was in the middle of a wash, of course it died ! I had to run cycle again because of outage. Then power came on why do I have to start wash #3 with same load
Sorry to hear about the storm. I believe if power goes out and you’re in the middle of a load it’s similar to pulling the plug, which would mean the washer picks up where it left off. Was that not the case?
Thank you so much for this instruction, Sir! 😊 I replaced the battery in my TIMEX Triathlon watch last year and was thoroughly disappointed when it did NOT come back on. I assumed that it needed to be "Reset," but had no idea how to do it. TIMEX of course, was ZERO help. They obviously hope folks will just buy a new one. I really wanted to keep my watch. It is the best looking and best engineered watch that I have ever owned. 🥰
Would love to do a video on the dryer, but unfortunately we didn’t get the matching set. Our decades old Whirlpool dryer died before we got the washer so we had replaced it years earlier.
Thank you for the kind words. Happy I could help. The channel name is a bit strange and I plan on looking into changing it. When I started posting, I really didn’t expect it to go anywhere. 😃
@@BruceAlanR Haha, I'm just kidding around for what it's worth. I think it's pretty clear, just so you know. But congrats on the success and thanks again for the help.
If the fuse keeps blowing the most common culprit is the door switches. The switches are garbage in this microwave, which is why you should never open the door while the microwave is cooking without pressing STOP first. Unfortunately, changing out the switches requires removing the microwave from the cabinet and most importantly discharging the capacitor before going inside. That’s the only way to do it safely. I cringe every time I see a family member yank the door open at a downward angle or slam the door shut, which contributes to premature switch failure. Not everyone is 6’ tall though so I get it. If possible, the best way to open the microwave door to prevent the switches from blowing the fuse is to grab the handle and use a thumb to push off the side of the panel. That way the door opens straight without putting pressure on the switches.
First, let me say for the record that Popular Mechanics magazine gave me the 2023 award for “least mechanically inclined person in the world” for the third year in a row. So that gives you some idea as to my competency level. 😆 Second, thank you so much for both of your videos - - the one where you replaced the battery and then this one where you focus on the shorting of the two discs. I’ve always been a little intimidated to get into the back of these watches and figured it was just easier to buy a new Ironman T200. But with your focused and well paced video I was able to get my old watch running again and saved $70 in the process. You run a great tutorial. 🙏
I think you’re asking how to clean up any sand that doesn’t go into the cracks while sanding. If so, what I do is use my gas powered blower on idle before wetting the sand. Anything sand remaining on the pavers after blowing lightly gets watered with the joints. Once everything is dry and a few days later I sweep or blow any remaining sand off the surface of the pavers.
Absolutely and great advice for both M12 and M18 batteries. And despite what I’ve seen on various tool channels, my opinion is that slower charging (less heat) prolong’s cell life. I have 4+ regular chargers, a few Rapid chargers, and the Super Charger in my mix and time permitting I always use the regular slow chargers. Milwaukee’s BMS is particularly bad in the older M18 HD12.0 batteries (from 2018), and the Samsung 21700 40T cells were discontinued and replaced with the 21700 40T3’s because the 40Ts experienced significant drop off in capacity after a modest 100 cycles. The older HD12.0 batts also have a tendency to become unbalanced at which point they only charge to 3 bars. I was able to balance the cells in each bank and the batteries can hold the charge luckily, but now I stick to the slower chargers when I can.
You're welcome! We have two of these installed and luckily the backup batteries are still working. Once they fail I’m sure I’ll need to revisit my video to remember how to reprogram them. 😂
Ugh! Sorry to hear that. The moss hasn’t come back to our patio and the weeds I can count on one hand. I’ve hit the weeds with Roundup and I use 30 seconds cleaner once a year now and rinse with a garden hose as to avoid removing the sand.
Video works also for a T78577 Timex watch. New tip. When I went to pull off the label, the guts of the watch came with it out of the case. Before closing the case, I had to put it back CORRECTLY. This is important. Eventually I figured out the four buttons must not protrude into the case, and must be in retracted position. With a small screwdriver blade, from the inside, I pushed the buttons out. THEN the guts slip in just right. One button popped out entirely, but it was OK by being slipped back in its hole. Also, take care the very thin gasket rubber ring is in its recess. From the start, I worked with the watch on a small tray, with a paper towel to stop parts rolling around. Lost no parts. Phew. Extremely useful. Before I saw this video, I had previously botched the job. After using the video I copied the URL, put it in a text file, and saved it in a directory with the pdf of the Timex instruction manual. One last tip, A previous time I tore up the phillips star slot in the screw. I used VAMPLIERS Stripped Screw Extractor Needle Nose pliers that are designed to really really do grasp the tiniest protruding screw head. Not cheap, but when you need them, oh boy! they are priceless.
How do you clean the washing machine's tub? There is a setting for Tub Clean, but the water level doesn't go all the way up. In our washer, the metal on the upper part of the tub is not as shiny as on the bottom. Also, it seems to have a soap deposit on it. I tried scrubbing with a cloth (so as to not scratch the tub), but it was not very effective. Is there a better way?
Soap residue around the top can be removed with a lot of elbow grease and a microfiber cloth. I’ve also tried a steam cleaner and even a non-abrasive sponge (the blue sponges with the no-scratch pad on it), but it still requires a fair amount of elbow grease. One person commented that their solution was wiping with a used dryer sheet, but I didn’t have much luck with that.
Did you know about the adapter you can buy online to install on your dyson to be able to use power tool batteries? They have one to use with milwaukee/Dewalt batteries and another for other brand batteries. Makes the Dyson worth having!
I am aware… in fact I made a short about it. 🤣 I’m a sucker for vacuums! Dyson V6 trigger+ (DC35) Battery Alternative - Adaptor for DeWalt 20V Max & Milwaukee M18 #shorts ru-vid.comZagfWHiv2NY?feature=share
I got mine for $199 at home depot… you’re right. … the instructions was like trying to watch old people F…. Thank God for RU-vid so I could assemble it. Great video. I hope it last… I think for a home owner it’s ok. I think for a professional probably want something else
This saw is a real piece of Shite. I got one and it worked for about 40 minutes altogether and stopped working. The brake trigger switch was faulty and it was a nightmare to fix. From looking up how to fix it , i discovered it is a common problem with these saws. So had to send it back to DeWalt to fix and return it took months. And then it happened again same issue.
Ugh! Thank you for sharing your experience. That sucks that it takes DeWalt that long to turn around a repair. I recently had to send one of my Milwaukee tools back for service and they had it back to me within a week… although, they ultimately assessed it and sent me a brand new tool instead of repairing it.
Thank you for this! I've been using the deep wash, but I haven't been thrilled with the results. The time needed for the heavy-duty always dissuaded me from trying it. I had no idea I could add turbo wash to cycles! I love this video!
Glad the video was helpful. If you select the TurboWash option with the Heavy Duty cycle you will find the overall cycle time to be close to using Deep Wash. The TurboWash can not only be added to a handful of cycles, but also removed from cycles when it is a default setting. 😃👍
I’m not sure I understand the question, but if you’re asking whether the machine shakes and shimmies during the spin segment of a cycle, the short answer is yes. The amount of shaking, walking, shimmying, jittering, etc. will be reduced if the machine is properly leveled (I hope to do a video on this eventually). Even if the machine is perfectly level, a load that is not equally distributed (aka, unbalanced) will cause the machine to shake a little as it ramps up to high spin speeds. Another possible cause of excessive shaking, which I recently experienced, is worn out suspension rods and dampers. When one or more suspension rods or dampers wears out, you may see the tub bouncing around off center and even hear the tub banging during the spin cycle (the tub is hitting the side of the washer). You may also notice one or more corners of the tub sags when it is empty. If it is easy to move the tub side to side when it is empty or you push down on the center of the wash plate (aka, impeller) and it doesn’t spring back up, there is likely an issue with one or more of the suspension rods or dampers. I hope to have a video posted about how to replace them soon so stay tuned. 😁
The blue “button” to the right of the detergent tray is where the rinse water sprays from when the TurboWash option is added to a cycle. It provides top down rinse like how you rinse your hands under a faucet.
@@BruceAlanR I also noticed that Dupray sells steel brushes on their website. The Neat comes with brass ones which Dupray says is for "medium duty work", however the steel ones say "For heavy-duty work requiring aggressive, deep and meticulous cleaning. Great for grout cleaning or equipment cleaning." Have you tried the steel ones yet? Might be better for the grill
The only additional tip I can think of is that it’s impossible to completely empty the tank before putting the steamer away so I usually run it until it completely runs out of steam. Once it has cooled (at least 20 minutes), I then remove the cap and put it away without the cap on.
I have not used the steel brushes and am still using the original plastic (for general cleaning) and brass brushes (for grill grates and cast iron stove grates). Similar to a scouring pad, the metal brushes can scratch surfaces so just be careful. Ultimately, the steam should be doing the heavy lifting. If you apply a lot of pressure to the brushes, they wear down quickly.
Great video. I wish I watched it before ordering the 2.0 to add to my original boxes. I can confirm, they are NOT 100% Compatible! This makes it a huge pain in the ars when rolling up tools at the end of a long day. I wish DeWalt would have put more thought into this design.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m going to assume you’re referring to the small parts organizer since that’s the one I have the most issue with. Another person commented they were having a compatibility issue with the drawer box, but it turned out there were some screws that weren’t tightened when it was manufactured.
excellent explaining. I programmed 1 program. after it is complete, I have it on Auto but there is an OFF button next to it. Does that mean program 1 is off?
If AUTO is in the display then the timer switch will run programs. The OFF in the display just means power is currently off to the load (load being whatever the switch turns on or off… usually a light). If you manually press the switch (the little door over the buttons) you will see OFF change to ON. Not sure why they did that because it’s definitely confusing.
