This is a review of the Fridgidaire window mounted air conditioner with wifi model FHWW063WBE. This AC is 6,000 BTUs and intended for rooms up to 250 sq ft. It comes with a remote control and is also wifi controllable using a smartphone and the Frigidaire App. In this video I share some of my likes and dislikes, as well as sounds, dimensions, window requirements, warranty info, and the app.
I purchased this unit from the Home Depot for $289 and received a $40 rebate from my local energy company for upgrading to an energy star certified appliance. I used it this past summer prior to reviewing it.

Thank you! This was informative 😊 I just bought one. I'm amazed there's so few reviews of this model out there! I'm lucky to have found this one, and that it was so comprehensive.

Thank you for showing the temperature at 60F! I like to sleep in a cold room, and it's hard to find a AC unit that goes down to 60 any more. Many only go as low as 62 or even 65.

Very good review. Lots of details which I like I am thinking getting a 15000 BTU version of your model. I am thinking about getting a replacement for a 5 year old window unit. My current unit does smelling frequently . Sprayed it cleaned it the best I could not happy with smell.

Frigidaire doesn’t make these easy to clean, which is disappointing. We have 3 Frigidaire units now. I’ve cleaned our old 6,000 btu unit with a steam cleaner during the winter, which made it smell a little better, but not like new. I cleaned the 12,000 btu model with the hose and dish soap, which worked better; however, because Frigidaire doesn’t use sealed bearings inside the motor housing, I had to replace one of the bearings… it rusted. A rusty bearing made the thing so loud we couldn’t use it. Replacing the bearings isn’t for the faint of heart… it requires taking the motor apart and bearings are difficult to remove. I did it though ($12 for bearings on Amazon) and have no regrets.

Great review. I just bought one very similar to this same brand. Same BTU. My question was I was seeing people or complaining about it not being able to drain properly. How have you combated this and any suggestions? Lastly, how long does it take to cool down a room in your house? Thank you
@BruceAlanR
@BruceAlanR 11 месяцев назад
I haven’t had any issue with draining. We have really old windows with exterior storm windows, which made it necessary to add a support board along the sill in order to accommodate the unit. That allowed me to add a few extra degrees of downward slope/angle towards the back. That may explain why I don’t have any drainage issue. I also don’t understand why Frigidaire doesn’t make the unit perfectly flat on the bottom (their older models aren’t flat either), or hasn’t build in a slant, or even added a removable drip pan. The concept of an AC is pretty much the same as a refrigerator, which has a drip pan underneath to catch condensation… not sure why they don’t just add a removable drip pan, which could be removed for cleaning the inside of the unit without having to disassemble it. Sorry, I’ve digressed. This unit is intended for rooms up to 250 sq ft. As I mentioned in the video, I’ve oversized the unit for the room (125 sq ft room). It cools my office from 81 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit in a little under 30 minutes with the fan on high. Having said that, the room begins to feel tolerable within a few minutes since the fan is moving air.

I wonder if the clicks you’re hearing are the temperature sensors taking air temp readings on the room?

At 00:24 mark, the bottom part shows what looks like some metal stands that sit on the window sill. Can those be taken off? Putting mine into a wall and the clearance is tight as it is with the dimensions given so wanna know if those are removable before purchasing one of these.
@BruceAlanR

Those metal feet are not removable unfortunately.

@@BruceAlanR mhmmm, might just have to saw them off. I had to do the same for my current window ac unit to make it fit properly in the wall. (Previous owners of our place made a hole in the wall for a window ac unit.)

From what I've seen by Frigidaire, this model and the newer version (FHWW064WD1), which are both 6,000 BTU, are the smallest that they currently offers in Wifi A/C units. They do have a 5,000 BTU model that isn't wifi enabled and is a bit smaller though (FHWC054WB1).

Hi, I'm interested in buying an a/c similar to that model, but they don't have it available at home depot, they only have old models. I looked at this model, almost similar to the one you have, just change the color of the digits Frigidaire FHWC064WB1 I looked at it on Amazon and what else My attention is that you have to put a filter for allergies since I suffer a lot from nasal contipation at night but I have looked for it on RU-vid and there is no review of these models or how to put the pollen filter etc. I wanted to ask you if that model that you have in the video can be put that pollen filter Frigidaire FRPARAC10 PureAir® RAC-10 and where could I get an a/c model similar to yours since with Amazon I have not had good experiences in heavy electronics since the delivery men drop the boxes from above and the units are damaged and then it is a problem to return it there is no like in a physical store
@BruceAlanR
@BruceAlanR Год назад
I hear you about bad shipping and handling. Amazon usually has a decent return policy although you'd want to make sure it can be returned if it's available. Model FHWC064WB1 isn't wifi compatible, but model FHWW064WD1 is (it's the newer version of mine and allows for the PureAir Filter, which gets slotted in the front... you can see it pictured on the Frigidaire website for the FHWW064WD1). My model doesn't accommodate the allergen filter unfortunately... wish it did though.

Unbelievable the gaps between the side of the unit and side panels. It also sounds very noisy. Can't tell if it's the compressor or fan.
@BruceAlanR
@BruceAlanR 14 дней назад
The fan of this unit is as loud as any other AC; however, the compressor is definitely more subtle than our other two Frigidaire units.

Does anyone know if this model has a dehumidifying mode? Or Dry mode?
@BruceAlanR

It doesn’t have a dehumidifying mode or dry mode although AC’s make a room feel cooler by reducing humidity.

I don't like that light comes through if you're trying to sleep and you like it dark why would an air conditioner allow light to come through my old ones never did that. The one I have now cheap-ass WalmartOne does the same thing cuz it has Styrofoam in it

You don’t have to use the WiFi if you choose not to. You just don’t connect it to your network using the app and just use the remote.
