I feel bad for the people that hate it. The first time I realized what it was I was enamored and have been doing it for years once I figured out how to do it. I'm always impressed with people that are REALLY good at it.
Gonna rely to this later, but I will say, I was playing out the new Lorcana & decided to tap Mulan’s mother Fa Li & instinctually said “and I’ll do one damage to your face” before getting the mental image of this kindly middle age Asian mom menacingly picking up a fry pan & realizing that I was thinking about the wrong game. I was abashed and apologized like 3 times before exerting (tapping) Fa Li for 1 lore counter to get closer to the 20 lore counter win state before passing. (Still won in the end)
my favorite is shaun, father of synths cause in the game hes known as both shaun and father, and not only are they naturally calling him both in the card name, theyre also telling people who dont know who he is that he invented synths
Phage, the Untouchable For the same reason of it intertwining with the gameplay: one touch is all she needs to bring death - to creatures, players, even her controller (if they fail to treat her properly).
Where did you get a definition of violence that includes the "portrayal of"? The game and lore depicts some absolutely atrocious acts but I don't think that makes playing a game violence.
Wilhelt Rotcleaver is my favorite for many reasons. I love graveyard recursion and zombies. He has a very powerful effect and the name conjures up a very bad image.
The Eldrazi to me are kinda the Emperors of great epithets. “The Promised End” “Reality Breaker” “It that Heralds the End” “Aeons Torn” “The Great Distortion” To me, these sound less like names and more like titles for disasters or events, besides It that Heralds the End which does itself lean into this idea that the Eldrazi aren’t beings or entities, they’re walking hurricanes, volcanic eruptions or Tsunamis, they are the end. Even when they do have more being centric names, it’s usually so grand in design, “Butcher of Truth”, “Unending Hunger”, “Void Gorger”, and so on
The violence in MTG doesn't vex me its the self harm. I don't like the self harm. But as some of you might know the U.S. military used to seek out first person shooter players. They liked to make them drone pilots and encourage them to act like it was all a video game. A bunch of them lost their minds from the shame of it.
I really like "Parnesse, the Subtle Brush". It's pretty hard to compete with all the bombastic gravitas epithets hanging around so I can admire someone who's just good and precise at what they do.
I HATE this so much. Just keep your hand in a normal fan, being able to see every card without autistically flicking through them and bending them in the process. I am sorry if this sounds mean, but just pls hold the cards normally.
Man, I’m way too Autistic to play in person… I’ve mostly just been playing on my computer since the first Duels of the Planeswalker games came out over 10 years ago I’ve been to maybe 3 or 4 in-person Magic events in my life, but they were always way too overwhelming. I honestly can’t understand how anyone could get comfortable doing that stuff on a weekly basis 😅
@@Muhahahahaz as someone with autism who goes almost weekly to my lgs to play games, its not easy but i personally find it worth it. Its about the only time I go out and spend time with others, so even if its hard I always try to find the time. Feels nice to hang out and play even if I feel like a wet noodle after.
I really like tezzeret betrayer of flesh. Its so perfect as everything he did was a betyral of the flesh, as he craved darksteel the entithiss of flesh and the building blocks of phyrexia. Every action was to obtain this and become stable as the planar bridge ate him from the inside out. And all of it made him less and less human.
The two in the thumbnail are perfect ones, in my opinion. "Sheoldred, the Apocalypse" is one i haven't seen mentioned yet, but it fits her character very well. She IS the apocalypse, and it's shown further in her base art and flavor text. "Gix failed, I shall not." Is such a great line and shows an amazing connection with the original Phyrexians invading dominaria and the New Phyrexians.
Great video, but a lot of these commenters are missing the point. If you hate flicking, you're just going to make the game miserable by shutting it down because that person will still feel the need go stim and you've chosen to zone in on something you dislike.
