I think the Revan novel is good as a stand alone, but when you played both games and the mmo it's just... well not the best. The author had to build up the story to fit into the old republic mmo. So the ending was, sadly, to be expected. But the biggest issue for many was the mischaracterization from Meetra Surik, which I agree with. I loved how Revan and Scourge in the book though. But I wished, as you have said, it was a different setting and ONLY about Revan. :/ Anyway, great list! I have only read Revan so far, but I am excited to read the rest! :)

I am going to get them. I‘ve missed out on the whole Bad Batch. It’s my chance to get Rex and the 501st Arc Troopers. Fives is the most important clone with Rex and even Echo‘s arc goes from the beginning of the clone wars until this day (possibly even further). I think as a prequels/clone wars fan these two are a must have. The only one that isn’t necessary for me is Jesse but I will get him to complete the squad. These will probably be worth a shit ton in the future as they won’t do them again.
@@malekith8447 A line up with these two, Rex and all the other 501st will look fire in a display for sure. Ideally, I’d love to have them but I think I’m going to pass at least for the time being and fill out my collection with figures that I have more of an attachment to. As it stands, I don’t have much more wiggle room in my display with what I have and what’s coming so gonna have to be cautious. We will see. Still glad these guys are coming for sure. 🙌🏻

On your final point on comparing yourself to other collectors, couldn’t agree more and at first I did that myself. It’s the downside to social media in all walks of life I think. high end collectibles should not have and shitty fragile materials on them, this just makes them look bad as a high end company. If this is their business strategy, using shitty fragile materials on figures in order to scare the buyers into buying a new figure if their old figure falls apart, that is unethical and wrong. I’m old enough to know what business strategy is ethical and what isn’t. Calling themselves a high end collectible company yet their “high end” products can’t last 10 to 15 years on a shelf behind glass without falling apart. Also I want to know which person over at hot toys thought using pleather and rubber was a good idea. Fake leather should not exist, if it didn’t, the Star Wars figures wouldn’t be suffering from material degradation.
For as much as these figures cost they should not be using shitty materials that will deteriorate and not require maintenance. All we want is to buy figures, pose them, leave them in a pose, put them in a cabinet, and not have to worry about anything. Anybody who agrees please reply so we can rant.
@@DarthTamarusI disagree with you about paying more for better materials, at the price that these figures are listed at, such as $275 or $330, they should be using durable materials that won’t require maintenance to better reflect their status as a “high end collectible company”. I would not want to pay more because we shouldn’t.

4:10 The electrocuted helmet looks like something from the Black Series deluxe big sets, with little lightning pieces, for example the last Command set. As a LEGO fan myself, I think companies are already aware of fans' reactions to 'The Acolyte,' and not even LEGO wanted to make and sell the sets. On the other hand, a single Lego set was made for 'Star Wars: Skeleton Crew' and released before the show even aired, which shows toy companies distancing themselves from 'The Acolyte' merchandise. Even on Amazon, the Black Series Acolyte merchandise was sold out, indicating the limited quantity made for that show.
@@nebulavoyager21 My sentiments exactly. It’s a nice add in but if I were to go after it, I’d probably decide to opt out of the deluxe as I would never use that head sculpt. I saw something saying Hasbro has potentially pulled figures from the show from their TVC line due to its reception. If the cheaper lines stay away, I’d say Hot Toys is likely to as well.
They absolutely shouldn’t waste time doing Yoda, Dooku or Cody. Yoda and Dooku, while both branded AotC, work as RotS versions as well. Those slots should go to new characters that haven’t been made yet… imo.
I don't disagree that the romance feels incredibly forced; but this was the first book I read in the five-set, and I fell in love with it for Kal Skirata and his quality parenting of the Commandos.

This vader looks amazing and shaw is the vader i grew up with but the obi wan vader for me looks the best. New hope vader is always my favourite and rogue one/obi one is basically it. So the obi wan vader and the battle damaged anakin one is it for me. I just think thr anakin battle damaged face looks more mean and i love the wires and exposed parts. If i had unlimited money and space id get them all obviously.
@@alibear73 Yeah that’s where I’m at. Sebastian is so iconic, that in a way I’m okay with not getting it because it feels like I’ve been able to appreciate him as Vader for so long in multiple medias. Weird I know lol. But yeah I agree, if I could have everything, I’d have this for sure.
@DarthTamarus I totally agree. I don't feel the need to have every character in action figure form even if I love them. Space and money are good limits for me. Every figure I have is like a grail to me. There are none that I would get rid of to make more space. My star wars collection is actually almost done. 5 more figures i need tops.
@@alibear73 I have a few I would replace for other versions. I’m still torn as to whether I want to move on TCW Maul and get the new TPM Maul but in my head, I think Maul was more of a character in TCW so that has more weight even though the former is more iconic. There are a couple of figures I’d probably never get rid of but you’re probably a much more established collector than me 😂

Listen man zero disrespect I love your channel and I don’t want to be “that guy” but I hated on the acolyte too before seeing it and ever halfway through the show and I’ll admit. it’s still not by any means great Star Wars however it was a good story honestly (at least a one time watch type show, I won’t be rewatching it but I am hoping for a season 2) but I was surprised by the end how much I enjoyed it considering I went in with a negative and petty mindset 😂 but I was in the same mindset as you before my girlfriend forced me to watch it and I hate that I hate to admit it was actually okay 😅😂

Well I watched the acolyte with an open mind and saw it to the end. The first episode was ok and the last one was good. The fight at the end was pretty good like a video game boss fight but all the episodes in-between I thought were terrible. The decisions people make are so dumb. Let's send a powerful prison in a ship with just droids? Let's have prisoners in a prison with their gadgets still on them? One minute I can use my force powers to hold up a bridge but not two little girls? So much dumb inconsistency. But figures are separate. To me it doesn't matter if I like a show or not it doesn't effect if I buy the figures. If the figures look good to me I'll get them. Also if I love a show but the figures are bad I won't get them.
@@alibear73 Yeah on a positive note, I did hear a lot of good things about the ending of the show and admittedly, it didn’t look too bad. For me, I don’t really like investing money into things I’m not super in love with. Especially something as expensive as this hobby, so I wouldn’t feel compelled to buy any of the other named characters from the show. Also, sometimes I have to make a conscious choice to disconnect the figure/character from the source material so that I can appreciate it more. For example Cad Bane from TBOBF. The figure is remarkable but the show was not and I still find a way to enjoy it, mostly because I really like Cad Bane I reckon.
@@DarthTamarus thats why I love collecting everyones collection is different. I go more for the canonical movie accurate figures and therefore Grievous is a Must for me. Do I like the New Vader? Yes but for me he is like a cool statue and Not necessary for my collection. And with everything whats Coming Out I can‘t justify spending 500+ on another non-canonical Vader. I would rather spend that money on the Artisan Darkside Anakin.

Even being as new as I am to this, there is just a shit ton of crazy stuff happening right now. A bit overwhelming. I just gotta prioritize certain figures over others. I don’t get how people can just buy everything.
I’ve always been so fascinated with Vader’s Battle Damaged appearance. Hot toys definitely took inspiration from his look at the end of Force Unleashed when he got beat to hell by Starkiller. The damages seem to be on the exact same spots! I never had a Hot Toys Vader before but this was an instant pre order for me because just like you Vader is also my all time favorite character and none of the other Hot Toys Vaders had as much of a wow factor in me as this one. They are still great and I did see a lot of them in person. But as soon as I saw the images for this one I was absolutely blown away by its presence and how menacing he looks! I had to get the deluxe edition with the half broken helmet and the sculpted cape (yes I get it looks more statue like but man it looks wicked flowing like that. It also reminds me a lot of the mythos battle damaged Vader statue that I missed out on and it ate away at me for months lol)

I don’t plan on getting rid of my Kenobi Vader as that will be my clean look but I can definitely understand how this one puts that one to shame. I’ve been considering getting a Milsbo for a while, but was always afraid of the shelf height. I’m glad the Vader fits because that was my biggest worry.
@@gildiae This is the tallest Vader to release. It’s over 13” but he has plenty of room. I like the MILSBO fine enough, but it’s more so a matter of how many figures you have/plan to buy as space will soon become an issue. You could probably fit 3-4 figures per shelf comfortably. I think it’s the perfect cabinet for small collections/limited space.

I’ve been collecting Hot toys Since 2019 Being my 1st pre order was The Mandalorian but the 1st figure I had in hand that I bought and got while I was waiting for Mando to come in was the Holiday Animated Special Boba Fett as my 1st in hand experience with a hot toy!

I'm just gonna get the standard battle damaged Vader and if I need the damaged helmet look I'll use the Kenobi damaged helmet head. Perfect. I prefer the full damaged Anakin face anyway. Like you I wanted a clean Vader as I never had one so I have no regrets getting it.
The only thing that interests me about the new Vader is the fact that it has no pleather. But expect it to be 420-450 -ish. And for us in Europe even 100-130 bucks custom taxes more. I think I will pass and stick to my ROTJ Vader. Don’t forget ROTS anniversary is around the corner and we could be seeing Obi Wan and Anakin 2.0

Totally agree with you on this one! Clean Kenobi Vader going next to this BD one. If I’m not mistaken, the base body used on this release seems to be the same as Kenobi Vader so that’s gonna be sweet!
@@TheDewdAbydes YES! The proportions look similar for sure. Some were saying they’d have liked to see a Sebastian Shaw sculpt but it wouldn’t look good on this body imo.
I still love my Kenobi Vader. That was an awesome battle between Obi Wan and Darth Vader. It was also a touching scene when Obi Wan Cut open Darth Vader’s helmet and you could see the pity and sadness in Obi Wan seeing what his former padawan has become. The new figure looks awesome but I feel like more of a connection to the Vader I have because of the Kenobi show. Be happy with what you have.

This Vader is a must-have. It's a unique, cool look. I like the pissed off head sculp and battle damaged on this helmet compared to the Kenobi one. "It blows the Kenobi one out of the water." I've been saying that this pass few days 😂
The scariest thing about collecting Hot Toys is how it so quickly changes your perception of cost. Recently, for example, I managed to pick up the very rare and sought after, (at least it is here in the UK), Han in Stormtrooper disguise figure from A New Hope for an extremely good price of £315 ($407) and thought, "Bargain!", whereas before I started collecting, the thought of spending basically a third of a grand on, essentially, an action figure would've sounded nuts.. and when I think of it even now, it is nuts.. but I have absolutely no regrets! 😅

Prior to collecting Hot Toys, the most I spent on a collectible was like $90 USD for a Funko Pop 😂 I usually do payment plans for figures so as not to have to drop a lot of money at once but more than once I’ve paid full out for a figure with no hesitation. @@DarthTamarus I would do payment plans in a heartbeat if I could, but because I'm such a big fan of the Original Trilogy, buying backwards off the secondary market has really been my only option.. and I don't need to tell you the aftermarket prices of a lot of those figures, eg. Alec Guinness Obi-Wan Kenobi, ANH Leia, Snowtrooper, Tarkin, Sideshow's TIE Fighter Pilot, etc.! 😂 And yet, when it comes to, say, needing two new tyres for my car, I'm like, "Ooh, they're expensive!" 🤣 It just shows my passion for Star Wars and my appreciation of Hot Toys' craftsmanship, but yeah, it's crazy how I'm desensitized to their prices! Actually, the Sandtrooper Sergeant, (minus the Dewback, I might add!) is one of only two pre-orders I've been able to make.. (not sure why I opted out of the ROTJ Han)(?) 🤔The other being what will be my first (and only, I hope!) Prequel figure, TPM Darth Maul. Even though I'm a strict OT guy, I couldn't not get that! Yeah, the Alec Guinness Obi-Wan is amazing. That was actually the most expensive figure in my collection, but again.. No regrets! 😅
