One key thing to remember about quitting your job is that it can make it less likely you'll qualify for unemployment. Employers count on this.

From experience, logical risk taking is almost always your best bet. At one job I saw the writing on the wall and knew the place was doing bad, so I left. And later I find out they closed down. If it's a stable place however, then you want to leave on good terms. It depends on each individual situation. I wasn't smart enough at the time, but ideally a high IQ play is to not show up on the last day. End it on your terms.

What if you are in a contract and your client doesn't really value the changes you want to make? Do you accept it, take the money and keep quiet and just do what you can within the scope? Or if you are the type of person that wants to do a good job, build upon a reputation of meeting all the deliverables and have that satisfaction of saying I did this, but its not going to happen, do you move on?

When your department lost 5 people and managers not eager to hire replacements. But expect you and remaining co worker to bounce between 3 to 4 different jobs all night and day shift is fully staffed with 8 people in same area.

I find that those who are quiet and calm are the real leaders of a business. In the modern world people confuse this. Many think that a loud mouth is a leader when, in reality, they're using the tool of being overly vocal, or trying to make a joke about everything, as a mask to their fears, flaws, and incompetence. That's not leadership at all. That's honestly the problem within business today. The true lack of leadership therein. A quiet, calm, confident person is usually very observant, discerning, and more humble. Though they may have experience they will ask questions when they deal with a new situation to them and listen to others who do know the answer with less experience. Wisdom.

Depends on where you live. In many places, you only get unemployment if you are fired unless you worked x number of years first.

i Just My opinion. but know your time when to quit there is more empowerment.. waiting to be fired in the other hand can hurt your self confidence and that period of time could be harmful for your mental health....this doesn't apply to everyone.. in my case i always been frugal and have a contingency plan if thinks go south🙏

I'm on probation and try really hard to do well. I get good feedback from clients and yet I miss details that were presented to me last minute by higher ups. Every month is an unsatistfactory review and I get little training. Instead they send me elsewhere to get "training" but little to nothing is actually trained. If I get another negative review I'm turning in my letter.

How do you attend interviews for other jobs when you have to work most hours during weekdays? If you take a day off, they will want to know why. So how do you do this without work catching on that you are job searching and firing you before you find something else?

If you hate your job, it's better to get fired than to quit. If you quit, it's much harder, if not impossible, to get unemployment insurance. If you get fired, at least in the State of California, you can usually get unemployment insurance. Just tell EDD you were "laid-off," and usually you will get unemployment insurance. Sometimes EDD will set-up an interview to confirm that you qualify for it. I think most companies won't challenge their former employee when they apply for unemployment insurance, even if technically they were fired, in order to avoid lawsuits. The maximum unemployment insurance in California is $450 per week, which you don't want to forgo by quitting.

I'd like to know how socializing after work has anything to do with "team playing." Team Playership is such outmoded Boomer concept anyway. Nothing dignified ever happens at these things- drinking, gossiping... I say decline, the work day is over, and just be done. Who is anyone to tell you that you should be working in your personal time?

In Ireland: Make sure you have another job lined up before quitting. If you get fired, the employer needs to be 100% sure it's the correct decision or they could be liable for 'unfair dismissal' and could be sued. Also you can go and claim benefits or 'job seekers allowance' until you find another job.

All depends at what is at stake. Work on Aircraft for a living. I am licensed by the FAA. It is my ticket to life and really good pay. It would be suicide to lose that. I would quit any day of the week before getting fired.

No matter what was suppress, he never stole anything. More importantly, if you look at the security camera, it shows on different occasions several people have gone up in that house. It shows a white couple carrying a six pack entering at night time, it shows 2 White kids going up in there as well. The owner would get an alert on his phone. The owner himself made a statement that nothing was stolen. I do agree with you that if the cops would of caught up with him he probably could of ended up dead but that didn't happen. He had ever right to make an attempt to defend himself after being chased and threatened. What would you do if 3 black guys are aggressively chasing you in 2 different trucks with guns? Can you imagine the fear that he had. Last thing, how much could he had possibly stolen just wearing some shorts.

I think the concept of holding while looking makes sense sometimes. It's often easier to get a job if you have one, too. But that focus aspect is strong. Plus there's the mental health toll if the environment is legitimately toxic (as opposed to just annoying). So... I think I agree with both sides on this. As to quitting over firing... Weigh the consequences. Resignations don't come with unemployment, and that's a significant concern sometimes. On the other hand, controlling your exit can make a difference on your narrative with future employers. In my experience, this is a judgement call

I honestly believe this sentence is out of proportion. No doubt the killing was evil and no doubt a punishment should follow, but life in prison is living according to the principle 'an eye for an eye' and i think that is not ok. They do not seem purely evil ppl and a punishment should be proportional. It seems this is not really justice. Somehow I wouldnt feel fine with a jury, and in Europe where i live, such sentences only exists for war criminals.

In my professional opinion; it is better to quit than to be fired. However, if you decide to resign from your toxic job; you must look for another job before you leave your previous job. It is very important to give your current employer your 2 weeks notice if the job you are looking for; accepts your application. A company that employed you for years; can fire you at anytime without notice. Being fired is sometimes good and bad depending on your situation. Saving money 💰💰💰💰 is very important if you know; you are about to get fired; and also search 🔎🔍 new employment. Great video 😁📸

I prefer staying while I search. First off, sending off resumes to other companies feels good and relieves daily stress. Secondly, you won't have to settle for a job that sucks worse than what you have now. Reject the jobs that are not worth it. Focus on the ones that are. And most of all, financially its much better. Not only do you have cash to pay your bills now, but a salary that you can use to negotiate your next job. No job = bottom salary for that position.
